2006

Kathie Sunday, 1/1/06, 1:42 PM

Well, never thought of the year 2006, but it's here...right in our laps! Now, we all have ot make the very best of this new year! Our celebration was a quiet one, dinner for two at the TEslaw residence. A steak on the grill, bacon wrapped scallops, and a good bottle of wine! We both stayed up long enough to view the return of Dick Clark, bless his heart, and then off to bed...is this a sign of getting old? No, just a case of broncitis running around the house! My hope is for all to have a 2006 of their dreams!

PJ Tuesday, 1/3/06, 8:44 AM

Greetings from Solon! My steak was very good cousin and you are so right, Dad did love his steak and it is a fond memory of him for sure! He ate a lot of red meat and it certainly didn't do him in, it was the cancer that took him. I, on the other hand did not inherit that from Dad, I got high cholestrol from Mom, it's genetic. I eat right (most of the time), and walking every day gives me a very high count on the good Cholestrol, so I am tetering on having to go on medicine. All 3 of us in our family have high Cholestrol. So I stay away from red meat, it is a treat when I choose it to celebrate, probably not a responsible decision, but hell life is short. I am still trying to sort out what I learned from my "restrospecting" for two days, but I have learned something and that is good, I just need to come to terms with it, in time./ A very Happy Birthday to Margaret Haworth Smith! Hope everyone has a good day. PJ

Larry Strack Tuesday, 1/3/06, 1:57 PM

Kathie, When the broncitis has subsided let's get together for some red meat, flesh from a dead chicken or greens from the forest. We ate at the new restuarant that took the Pickled Parrots place and it was good, or any other place you'd like. Carol always likes a night away from cooking.

Hi Everyone, What kind of teachers did we have????? I had a sleep test on Wednesday night and failed it. Now I have to sleep with a machine. No one taught me how to sleep!!! (snicker, snicker) The system failed me. poor me./ Just poking fun at "the system". / I do have to start using a CPAP machine and am looking forward to a better life.

PJ Friday, 1/6/06, 8:22 AM

Hi Devon, I can relate to your not being able to sleep, it is one of the many problems I have to deal with Fibromyalgia as well. I hope very much that this helps you, I wish you well, friend./ We were supposed to have a little sunshine today "UGH"!!! Once again NO SUNSHINE for 11 days and counting, it makes me dig down very deep to find energy to even walk, it adds to my usual mid winter FUNK! Ok lighten up PJ! I finished my neighbors painting and matted and framed it for him, and he was very pleased. Now onto the next one, another 16x20 so it will take awhile to complete. This one is of a Kitty sitting on top of bird house in a tree, with 2 birds looking on rather forlornly at their house and the Kitty. I think my little Kerra will like this one when she gets a little older./ Hope everone has a good day, I am off on my walk, and then back to painting.

Larry Strack Sunday, 1/8/06, 5:23 AM

Devon, hope the machine helps with the sleeping. I know I get real cranky without my sleep. On the bright side...sun all day yesterday!

PJ Monday, 1/9/06, 7:58 AM

Good Morning to you all! Finally a day of sunshine, 14 days with out sun, good old "soup town". I know Larry if I lived down your way........ but I tried that once. As bad as it gets here sometimes, I just can't see living anywhere else, maybe a vacation somewhere but this is home, just can't seem to leave that behind. Two weeks is a long time with out the sun but now today it's like a whole new world out there, makes me appreciate things more./ Bob Marlowe just sent me a new game, just put it up for everyone who has the time to give it a try. I got to 59 once! Let us know how many eggs you can collect./ Bobby Anderson, thank you so much for the really neat Card, I will save that one forever! Have a great day every one!

PJ Monday, 1/9/06, 8:02 AM

Forgot,if you get the chance take a look at the Duluth Canal Web Cam today, could this be one of the reasons why I like it here so much?

Frank! Monday, 1/9/06, 9:58 AM

OK -- I don't want to be a braggart (yes I do!). I played the egg game only once and my score was 112.

PJ Monday, 1/9/06, 10:11 AM

I just got back from a long walk on the lake, absolutely gorgeous. I played the game just now and did better got a 79, Frankie your just too good.:) I move to quick and splat goes an egg, too funny.

Frank Wednesday, 1/11/06, 11:26 AM

Just played the egg game a few times. My high score now is 151.

Devon Thursday, 1/12/06, 10:50 AM

Beautiful day here. Sunshine and 45 degrees. Weatherman says we will have a few more days of this and a storm on tuesday. Have a great day. When you get your work done for the day.....do something exciting !!!!!!

Franko Thursday, 1/12/06, 2:29 PM

OK, new high is 185, but I may have to give up the game. I pride myself on never swearing, but this game is testing me big time!

PJ Thursday, 1/12/06, 6:26 PM

Good Grief... stupid egg game,I managed to get 123 Frank, don't know how cause I can't even get close to it now. Frank if you and I go goofy we can always blame Bob Marlowe.

PJ Thursday, 1/12/06, 7:10 PM

Frank did you go into the other games? Larry there is one that you can shoot like a gun. I think I am going crazy. I have to quit for now I have been painting today and now I really did a number on my shoulder with these goofy games. Nighty Nite.

Frank Friday, 1/13/06, 11:19 AM

Yes I did play some of the other games. I find I really get tense playing them, especially this egg game. I'm already blaming Bob M.

DEVON Friday, 1/13/06, 1:59 PM

Played "that" game and got 99 on my first try. Will have to get there earlier on my lunch hour. Great weekend to everyone.

PJ Friday, 1/13/06, 4:06 PM

I know what your talking about Frank about getting tense while playing the games, my right shoulder is my problem shoulder and it won't let me play for very long with all that tension. I am not as controled as your are though cause I am cussing up a storm when I play, it doesn't help me play better, actually I probably would play better if I stopped cussing. My Dad always told me when I was playing some sport with him, it doesn't help you play better when you gets so darn mad. Sure wish I had his patience. Oh Well It'S still fun to play them. Good to hear that your are playing the game Devon, at least it isn't just Frank and I losing our sanity. Sounds like you haven't got your internet up at home yet??

Frank Sunday, 1/15/06, 3:31 PM

My goal is to get to 200 eggs, then I will quit that game. My high now is 197.

Kathie Monday, 1/16/06, 5:31 PM

Good evening...been a while since I put my 2 cents in...headed south this week. A trip to sunny, but chilly Florida. Going to the Orlando area, Sarasota and Bonita Beach..just to hang out with some friends. Been trying to get some painting completed, or I should say John is, as I am not quite as neat as he is in the painting department! I cannot believe how mild our winter has been! And do wish we would have more snow, I don't like the dirty stuff! I haven't tried Frank's game...I guess I don't want to find out how slow the reflexes are...Larry, haven't forgotten about the dinner thing, just been having too much company ...kids, mom and friends..along with the painting going on it has made evenings rather short. I'll be back, come the 27th..hopefully a little tanner than I am now and with a better golf swing! I actually get to take MY clubs this trip. Maybe John wants to see if I really am able to swing that new club I received for Christmas! Later!!

Devon Tuesday, 1/17/06, 6:12 AM

Happy Birthday to Cheryl Koenen yesterday. Have a great day everyone.

Frank Tuesday, 1/17/06, 8:26 AM

OK - let's not call it Frank's game. It's Bob Marlowes's game. I just got addicted to it. I just hit 232, and now I'm not going to play it anymore.

PJ Tuesday, 1/17/06, 3:39 PM

Congratulations Frank! What is your secret? That thing gets going so fast I can't keep up! Does it give bonus's after you reach a point, and is there another level?/Hi Kathie, was wondering what you where up to you had been so quiet, but now I know. Did you get a new driver?/Devon I should have mentioned that Cheryl and Ray are down south for a couple of months, but it was nice of you to say Happy Birthday to her she will see it when they get back home. Are you getting any results with your sleep yet?

PJ Tuesday, 1/17/06, 3:48 PM

I have to re state my ? Frank! Does it ever get to a level where it slows up again, or does it keep getting faster and faster with each level?

Devon Wednesday, 1/18/06, 10:58 AM

PJ....thanks for asking. Last night (tuesday) was my first night on the machine. For the most part, it went well. Getting used to the machine and harness on my head caused me to wake up a few times. Over all it went well. I do feel more alert today than I have in a long time, although I am still tired. Dr. said it will take about 2 weeks to realize full benefits. I use a nose piece in place of the mask. It makes my nose a little sore and my nasal passages are dry and feel strange....all things to get used too. The machine is very quiet and wasn't a problem as far as sound goes. So far so good. Will keep you posted.

Larry Strack Thursday, 1/19/06, 6:58 AM

Devon, wish you luck with your sleep. I get real cranky if I don't get the right amount of rest. Ain't like the 'old days'...can't stay awake much after the sun goes down.

PJ Thursday, 1/19/06, 7:19 AM

Devon, I sure relate to your sleeping problems, no matter what the cause. I had to go off my meds to see if they where causing my headaches and after the 4th nite with out them and I felt wired and tired and no relief on the headache. So last night back on the "drugs" and a better night of sleep. Next step a cat scan, to see if there are any aliens living in my brain, or sinus's. I have a couple more experiments that I have to try to see if the headaces are self induced. Life is just a bowl of cheeries! :) Laughter is still the best medicine in my book!

Frank Thursday, 1/19/06, 8:13 AM

PJ -- there are no bonus points, and the eggs keep dropping faster every new level you reach.

Hello, All! /It's been really busy here at work - sorry I haven't kept up my end of the 'conversation'... /Next Sunday, the Extreme Home Makeover show is about a house up in Sandpoint, ID - about 45 min. north of here. Hoefully, they'll show a little bit of what this part of the country looks like. The show's recipient's this week are a bachelor cowboy who lived in Montana who moved here to become Dad to his neice & nephew after his sister died. Lots of local programming while the makeover was going on last late fall - Paige (one of the show's cast members) had never seen snow actually falling from the sky before! /Tune in if you get a chance! More when things slow down a bit... /Take care, Everyone.

PJ, I went through about 10 years of headaches until I finally found what was the root cause. To make a long story short...I finally went to a headache clinic and they discovered I was addicted to acedemetaphine (sp?), the common pain reliever in many over the counter meds. Once they got me off them, through a drug regiment of 9 month, my headaches are almost non-existent.

PJ Sunday, 1/22/06, 7:53 AM

Thanks Larry for that info, that is very interesting because I take one dose of Acetaminophen (had to look at the bottle to spell it) every morning. What amazes me is the Doc knows that I take this every day, why doesn't he know about this? He will now, when I tell him about it. In addition to the headache every morning I had also developed a headache behind my eyes after I got the new glasses and that was different from the morning heachache and the search has started for the cause of this new and different headache, but it sure won't hurt to mention this new info, Thanks again Larry.

Larry Strack Sunday, 1/22/06, 8:54 AM

I think a small amount may be OK, I was taking sometimes up to 14/day to keep the headache at bay. It sure won't hurt to ask. I'd been seeing you're garden variety MD's the whole time and finally got fed up with it and asked if there was a specialist I could see.

Carla, thanks for that tip on the Extreme Home Makeover show. We just finished watching it and, wow, what a great story about that guy, Eric. He really deserved some special help for taking over as the parent of his niece and nephew, and man did they deliver it to him. It was really fun to watch. I did peg the black bear as a trained bear when I saw the show celebs standing around so close to it. From my experiences with wild black bears up in the BWCA, no way would you be standing there letting a 500 lb bear walk around within 10 ft of you. Scenery was beautiful. You live in a great part of the country. They did mention it was a little cold though.

Good Morning to all! Happy Birthday to Susie Larson, have a great day!!/ CJ did you ever get a digital camera? After seeing a peek at what it looks like up there in Idaho sure would be neat to see some photos of your area. I sure hated to see them cut that big old tree down but it did make for a huge demolition tool that's for sure, that is an amazing show never watched it before.

Good for you Larry, I think everyone has gone to sleep. The temp was the same this morining when I got up as it was when I went to bed 38 degrees, hard to believe, and we have a lot of snow left. Did you happen to see the sunrise on the Duluth Harbor this morning?

Greetings from the East Coast. Yes, I am still alive, barely. We had our first four candidates this past week. Plus, it was the first week of our spring term. Too much happening at one time. We have four more candidates this coming week. They will make there decision and offer on Friday. I will be very happy when it is all over. My husband, daughter and her two kids and I are leaving Feb. 10th for Disney World. I am really looking forward to this trip. We are driving and it is an 18 hour drive, but that will be fine with me. I will get to read, relax and play with the grandkids. We had 19 this morning. I guess our winter has finally arrived. We had some the beginning of Dec., but it has been in the 50's and 60's most of January. I try to check in and read this site everyday. So keep talking.

OOPs - I just realized I put the wrong there in my note. Sorry - it should of been their. See I do remember my grammar. Although I swear they made some changes since we were in school.

PJ Tuesday, 1/31/06, 6:54 AM

Hi Bobby, good to hear from you it sounds like you are very busy at work. I hope your trip to Disney World will be tons of fun for all of you. Grammar is indeed changing with the use of computers and e- mail it's like a whole new language. I know my grammar isn't always correct, but I try./ We have had one of the warmest winter's here so far, that I can remember. The ice on the lakes isn't safe and they are warning people to pull the fishing shacks off now one month earlier than normal. We got 5" of snow Saturday night but we don't have nearly as much snow as we had last year. I was in town for a surprise 40th birthday party for my nephew and I had to drive home in this last snow fall. It took me an hour and 25 minutes to get home from South Superior, I did that white knuckle driving for 20 yrs with the school bus and I don't like having to drive in it any more. I drove only as fast as I could safely see and let the idiots go flying around me. I was really surprised to see a 18 wheeler go flying by, it created a white out for about a minute. I was glad there wasn't anyone behind me cause I had to slow down even more. I think that wet heavy snow has to be the worst to travel in. I woke up to a winter wonderland though, the prettiest snow fall so far this year. I was out taking pix till I filled my card up, if the sun had been shinning it would have inhanced the view of the snow covered trees even more, but it was gray and very windy. The wind was blowing the snow off the trees at a fast rate of speed and changing the scenery right before my eyes. The campground in the park is a beautiful place to see, and I hope that you all will get to see that from some the pix that I will put up. It was a fun photo shoot! Have a great day every one.

PJ Tuesday, 1/31/06, 7:03 AM

Forgot, I made the link to the Duluth Harbor a direct link to the cam so it will come up with one click now. I have seen some gorgeous sunrise's over good old Lake Superior right here from my desk, got love this technology stuff! :)

I just got into the reunion pictures, wow. I was able to see a few before but now I can get to all of them. PJ - is that Richard Tappen in the picture with you? I remember him from elementary school. Did he move while we were at Dewey? I remember his red hair. We have our 8th and last candidate tomorrow. I sure will be glad when that is finished. Then the decision will be made who to offer the two jobs to. No snow yet for 2006. We will probably get a blizzard the day we are to leave for Florida.

Good Morning! Bobby, yes that is Butch Tappan with me, and yes he did move up town but he always hung with us in East End. He has made a point to come to see us at all the reunions he's a sweetheart and love um to death! (Which reminds me to ask Len Moreau if Butch had his surgery yet?) Back to you Bobby, I am assuming you are talking about OUR Web site PHOTO GALLERY or where you talking about getting into WEBSHOTS? You said you couldn't get all the photos but you are able to now, that is strange, but I am glad that you are able to see them now. Sure wish you could get into WEBSHOTS there is a lot more in there./ David it's about time we heard from you, of course you knew I would say that didn't you? I got your web site, I have been staying away from POLITICAL STUFF, but what the heck, we need to get some action going in here lets see what the rest of us baby boomers has to say about it. Lets hear what you all think?????? I will put it up on the HOME PAGE just above the Duluth Harbor Cam. Have a great day everybody.:) PJ

What???, did Butch Tappen show up at our reunion. I didn't see him. I knew Butch very well. Anybody into watching the "Surviveor Series"? It starts tonight, and I see there's a woman lumberjack from Hayward, Wi. going to be on it.

PJ Thursday, 2/2/06, 12:28 PM

Robert Marlowe, Butch was at Key Port on Friday night. I don't have any 40th reunion pix in our web site, they are all in the WEBSHOTS on my Personal Albums Page, the link is on the home page you can see a photo of him there, I thought everyone knew this???? I had thought about putting them back into our site now that I can use the thumbnails option, but I just found out that I didn't do that???? I must have decided that it was too much work to move them back, there are over 100 pix could be a good reason./Bobby Anderson forgive my brain fart you obviously didn't see the pix of Butch in our site, you got into WEBSHOTS that's great!!!!!

Okay, been silent long enough...not home a lot of the time. The Florida trip was lovely! Golfed more in 8 days than the past three years. I need to work with the new driver, PJ. it is a senior shaft, 13 degree, great big bertha 454! Wow, what a title....John just said it's what he receives for health care from medicare, "the senior shaft!" Guys, after listening to John, I don't know if this medicare stuff is really going to help us ...I'll be heading back to work soon, if his complaining keeps up! Back to golf..My new nick name is "Dee" as in deceleration in my swing..onward and upward, I'll improve. Now, politics! Looks as though our Pres will be taking the "lame duck" approach to the remainder of his term. He's got the "man" or "men" on the courts and we'll be living with that call the rest of our lives. We're oil poor, but the Hummers get a tax break, dig up the only decent example of wilderness to fuel the big guzzlers and there are students making old vegetable oil run their automobiles...is this a "hmmmmmm" moment? Auto makers are close to bankrupcy 'caus the foreign cars are outselling US cars, made on technology we gave them 30-40 years ago! Another "hmmmm" moment. Tear up the rail tracks, 'cause the trucks can do the job....rebuild the tracks for lite rail, but delay so it will cost the tax payers more money...what a deliteful world we live in!.....now, I have to make truffles and a chocolate cake for a gathering this Tuesday, any good recipes in our group? Hey...am I stirring any "pots" out there? What do you think, PJ?

Just some words from there. The sun beat like a hammer, not a cloud was in the sky. The mid-day air ran thick with dust, my throat was parched and dry. With microphone clutched tight in hand and cameraman in tow, I ducked beneath a fallen roof, surprised to hear "stay low". My eyes blinked several times before in shadow I could see, the figure stretched across the rubble, steps away from me. He wore a cloak of burlap strips, all shades of grey and brown, that hung in tatters till he seemed to melt into the ground. He never turned his head or took his eye from off the scope, but pointed through the broken wall and down the rocky slope. "About eight hundred yards," he said, his whispered words concise, "beneath the baggy jacket he is wearing a device." A chill ran up my spine despite the swelter of the heat, "You think he's gonna set it off along the crowded street?" The sniper gave a weary sigh and said "I wouldn't doubt it," "unless there's something this old gun and I can do aout it." A thunderclap, a tongue of flame, the still abruptly shattered; Till only one remained, a body crumpled on the ground, The threat to oh so many ended by a single round. And yet the sniper had no cheer, no hint of any gloat, instead he pulled a logbook out and quietly he wrote. "Hey, I could put you on TV, that shot was quite a story!" But he surprised me once again-"I got no wish for glory." "Are you for real?" I asked in awe, "You don't want fame or credit?" He looked at me with saddened eyes and said "you just don't get it." "You see that shot-up length of wall, the one without a door? before a mortar hit, it used to be a grocery store." "But don't go thinking that to bomb a store is all that cruel, the rubble just across the street-it used to be a school. The little kids played soccer in the field out by the road," His head hung low, "They never thought a car would just explode." "As bad as all this is though, it could be a whole lot worse," He swallowed hard, the words came from his mouth just like a curse. "Today the fight's on foreign land, on streets that aren't my own," "I'm here today cause if I fail, the next fight's back at home." "And I won't let my Safeway burn, my neighbors dead inside, don't wanna get a call from school that says my daughter died; I pray that not a one of them will know the things I see, nor have the work of terrorists etched in their memory." "So you can keep your trophies and your fleeting bit of fame, I don't care if I make the news, or if they speak my name." He glanced toward the camera and his brow began to knot, "If you're looking for a story, why not give this one a shot." "Just tell the truth of what you see, without the slant oe spin; that most of us are OK and we're coming home again. And why not tell our folks back home about the good we've done, how when they see Americans, the kids come at a run." You tell'em what it means to folks here just to speak their mind, without the fear that tyranny is just a step behind; Describe the desert miles they walk in their first chance to vote, or ask a soldier if he's proud, I'm sure you'll get a quote." He turned and slid the rifle in a drag bag thickly padded, then he looked again with eyes of steel as quietly he added; "And maybe just remind the few, if ill of us they speak, that we are all that stands between the monsters and the weak." Another note, I was in SOG and our creed is, YOU HAVE NEVER LIVED UNTIL YOU HAVE ALMOST DIED. LIFE HAS A SPECIAL MEANING THAT THE PROTECTED WILL NEVER KNOW.

Len, Good one! My son-in law's best friend just returned from Iraq, posted in Mosul. Learned a lot on the OHIO University basketball web site regarding Captain Kevin Kuwic's time spent! I only wish we all had a better handle on the situation. We so need to be there or how knows what other maniac would be running the country. The Iraqie people are so greatful. I was sitting in a class in graduate school when the professor came in one day, looked at me and said in front of everybody there, "O'Keefe, if they put your brain on the edge of a razor blade, it would look like a B-B rolling down a four lane highway." Somehow these recent comments bring the quote to mind, as probably applicable to someone in the news daily. Any guesses?

Len Sunday, 2/5/06, 10:26 PM

Well Frank, when it happens hear, and it's going to, what quotes will you have then. Read the book TERROR at BESLAN, by John Giduck. This is not fiction. If you can't find it at book store, you can go to www.terroratbeslan.com

Len, Amen! Let's pray this never happens on our soil. Maintaining freedom requires vigilance. Do we always do the right thing? No, we're human. Knowing when and what to do to maintain our freedom is a working formula not yet proven. I don't really want to discuss the politics involved because it changes with the wind but we must continue to strive to do the right thing for us and others. Will it always be popular? Hell no! And ain't it great we live in a country that allows us to disagree! Those disagreements of lead to a balance that keeps our freedoms alive. Kathie, how about those Sea Hawks?

Kathie Monday, 2/6/06, 10:43 AM

Ah....the Sea Hawks, if not for a couple of questionable calls....but it is always easy to place blame. I believe Seattle put up a good fight...was one of the most interesting Super Bowls in many years...held the attention of fans a bit better, and the commercials were funny! anyway...good to have some discussion here. Miss Fox would be proud...but only if it meant agreeing with her,God rest her soul!

Len -- I sense after reading your last comment earlier this morning, I hit a hot spot. I thought of sending an email to you personally, but thought that if I responded, perhaps it would be best on this site, so everyone would see it. I'm still debating on commenting further. /My comment was not intended to be dead serious, rather somewhat serious with some humor involved. I certainly support efforts to eliminate terrorism anywhere in the world. I support our troops. I have a nephew here in Minneapolis who is a marine who has already served three tours in Iraq. I would encourage my eighteen year old grandson to join the militarry when (if) he graduates. I am pleased that Saddam Hussein has been taken down. I do not however, believe in this war in Iraq -- I believe we're in it for the wrong reasons and have brought more troubles to ourselves than we have benefits. /I appreciate you fought in Viet Nam. My brother (82nd Airborne) was there for a year beginning in Aug 1968 - perhaps you were there at the same time. I spent two years in the Army beginning in Feb 1969, though was fortunate to be stationed in Germany, paying the doctors at 2nd General Hopsital in Landstuhl who cared for some of those having been injured in Viet Nam. I appreciate your service was life/death, and I repsect you for serving. /I am not a Bush fan, and there are tons of reasons why, and I am not alone. With his job approval rating in the mid 30's, there are many who agree with me. If you are a Bush supporter, I respect that. We have the right to disagree. I will not try to convince you to agree with me. /Well, this is going much deeper that I intended. Let me say though no offense was intended and I hope none was taken. I still don't know if I will/should submit this. Oh well -- here goes

Hi everyone, good conversation and opinions keep it going! We are of the generation that speaks up and fights for what we believe in and I am grateful for our freedoms in this country. We owe that to the fighting men who have died, in this war and all of the wars previous and to those fighting men who continue to live and have suffered from the effects of war. I surely don't have the answers but is WAR the answer? I do believe we need the military for our PROTECTION, there will always be that need. War is devastating, it reaches out it's ugly tentacles and takes the innocent with it./ This war is a double edged sword, we must suport our troops and the Iraqi people who want a better life. But do we look away from the other edge of this sword, the reasons we were given for this war in the first place. We started out in the right direction in Afganistan, but were led astray in Iraq. This is my opinion for today.PJ

My favorite superbowl commercial was the Bud one (superfan) where the horses line up at scrimmage for the snap, then the little lamb streaks between them, retuning and then shaking its "booty" at the camera.

A quick birthday shout-out to "evad rehcteeb" - Hoppy Birdie Two Ewe! /and a belated Happy Birthday to Dawn!! / PJ - two names to add to the February birthday list: Faye - 13th; Jack - 14th (yup - he's a Valentine's Day baby!) /and if memory serves me right, it was 44 years ago tomorrow (1962) that the Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan show. I remember my Dad being totally disgusted with the whole thing... /I enjoy the political discussions - like we were all sitting around together, offering our points-of-view.

Hi everyone. 25 here this morning. We are suppose to get some snow this weekend, but I won't be here. I leave Friday for Disney World for a week. Earl and I are going with our daughter and her two kids - ages 7 and 9. I am looking forward to lots of fun as I am still a kid at heart. I just can't take the rollercoaster any more. I will get lots of rest as we are driving down and back. It is about a 14 hour drive. Keep warm, ya'll and I will be back online the 20th.

Frank, no offense taken. I get a little pi____ when after about 6 months after we have been in a conflict, or war Americans have a tendency to forget what put us there. If I may state a fact. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, less Americans where killed then, then where at 911, but we chased them to every Island in the South Pacific and destroyed them. Then we dropped the big one on there Home Land, twice. Terrorism isn't going to stop in Afghanistan, or Iraq. It has taken, and will take us to other countries. The fastest way for us to end a conflict, or war is to jump behind it and stay tell the end. If you came into my home and harmed my family there would be No place, or country you could hide. 911 did this. Sorry if I sound like a Preacher, but I get carried away.

Played paintball, no tourney just a few friendly games, last Sat for 8.5 hours straight. It was an indoor field, I don't like them but it was a way to get together with friends and have a great time. I'd have to say it was the most fun I've had for a long time. Would have played yesterday in the snow but 2 yr old granddaughter delivered a present with a kiss...cold germs. So I was down for the count and had to rest. Carol knew I was really sick when I didn't play paintball and skipped work. Back at work today until 10AM and then off to the grandkids for more kisses, hugs and probably germs. A small price to pay for such enjoyment.

Good Morning to every one! Larry I hope your feeling better, my grand daughters have been sick as well but so far I have been lucky not to get anything from them. My headaches are easing some, and my MRI's came out negative, this time the new glasses are good. So unfortunetly it's most likely stress causing the problem. Maybe I just need to add another mile to my walk in the winter time to ease the stress of winter./ Happy Birthday to Fay Parish! Fay hasn't given a e-mail address so I am not sure if she has a computer or not, so if anyone out there is in contact with her let her know that we all wish her a great day. And a great day to all of you! PJ :)

Thanks PJ. Yesterday I was looking for the truck that hit but today I'm happy to be feeling better. Stress? Paintball works for me.

Len, You hit it right on the head. American's have got to learn that the radical muslems would rather kill us then talk to us, just because we are not of the same religion as they are. This has been going on for thousands of years. I would much rather fight them on their ground as ours, and if we don't, they will be on our ground...fighting us./ Just had to get that out. Now I feel better. God Bless you all and have a great evening./ My granddaughter was very sick last Sat. She up chucked several times through the night and be noon on Sunday she was fine. Got to go.

Double the Valentines greetings! May the day bring all happiness, good thoughts and lots of love! WE got the big project going on at the home front; John is becoming a master tiler! He tore up the old dark tile in our entry and we've chosen a lighter color. YOu all have done these projects where you think it will be just a few hundred dollars! Well, go to the tile store find out that the nice stuff in the color you want is just under five bucks a tile, not the buck 99 stuff! Add backer board and extra layer of plywood, grout, mud , rental of the electric jack hammer and a small tub for the garbage...bingo, Campbell's soup for valentines dinner tonight! OH, well....guess I'll have the floor longer than a dinner out! Spring is around the corner....

And any news on the grandchild front? i'm anxiously awaiting that magical tme, but there are health issues in our family too....it is so heart breaking! I guess the mantra will be "patience"...

I guess I don't feel alone and picked on by God as much anymore, cause I see that I'm not the only one stricken by the crud virus and also trying to finish my kitchen tile project at the same time! Talk about a lack of energy and even the will to get my but out of bed! I was almost too lazy to sit my but done and complain, but thats sort of like me most of the time anyway. One thing I'm not going to complain about is getting older. With age comes wisdom, and I figured out that if I aint getting older, I'm probably dead! So I'll go for the getting older for as long as I can, then see ya adios, bye bye ,flat line , DOA, pushing daisies,s&*t the bed ,toe tag time, walking with God (sure) ,you get the idea.So I did make it to one year older in spite of myself, and thanks for da happy barfday from Carla and the Water Rat. Carla, have you been misbehaving yourself lately, cause I know you're very capable of being a Bad Girl when you set your mind to it. You don't have to admit to any thing if you don't want to, but inquireing minds want to know. Well, I took some time off my tile project to get some blood flow back to my knees, and I guess its time to get back to having fun! Be back later with more BS. Love Dave

Hi CJ, Cousin DB! But of course Sir DB, me and CJ know how to behave, actually quite well I might add!!! :) One other thing Sir DB I will "water rat" you the next time I see you, that is a threat!!!! :) Going on 60 years and you still remember to toss that in every now and then, funny how you can remember that, but....?????? This is such a cold weekend why don't some of you work on your PROFILES???????? I remember that!!!:)/ This has been a great week, we have had two more classmates sign in, WELCOME TO THE SITE DAVID SODERLUND, HOW'S IT GOING OVER IN SOUTH RANGE?/ I just got a message from Dawn she is heading out to AZ to visit with Cheryl and Ray, she decided to take her little dog Ozzie along with her and drive out. Hope you all have a good time out there, while were freezing this weekend, boy does AZ sound good about now./ Hey Billie come on back and talk to us??? There is someone else that hasn't been in to chat in a long time and that is DALE TROLSON, I know you have time to stop by and let the gang know what you are up too, so what's up? Put the golf club down for a couple of minutes and tell everyone whats happening in CA. LADY PJ, THATS A HOOT CJ!!!!

Looks good so far...I hope we are able to do it justice. We did survive the cold snap, and I did complain, although I'll never let John hear me...he'd put the for sale sign in the yard faster than I would ever imagine! Been watching the Olympics...and really enjoying the curling and the ice skating. John was a curler in Superior, with Bob NIchols, so the game is not too foreign. I think some people think I'm nuts for saying I enjoy watching, as to some it is rather boring. If one only realized the skill it took to play, not just physical but mental too. Any curlers in our class?

PJ, I like the color combo...it's easier to read. And no, I didn't play paintball last weekend. Not sure if I'd have played if a game was scheduled. Got one scheduled for next Sat, not sure if I'll play under 25 degrees. Kathie, where you moving to and when is the Apple Valley chapter meeting?

PJ Monday, 2/20/06, 10:47 AM

Hi Kathie, I survived the cold too, I didn't walk on Friday the worst of the 3 days but I have been out every day since it was great today. I enjoy watching the Olympics as well. Those kids are incredible! As a kid I remember wanting to be a speed skater for awhile, then switched to Figure Skating which we did so much of when we where kids, but never followed up on it, I always went back to wanting to be a singer. The only classmate that I know of the is/was a curler was Susie Larson, don't know if she still does it or not.

I tried to catch you Larry to see if I could get you in the chat room, but I must have been too late it seems we where in the guest book at the same time. I changed everything around to see if it will be more convenient this way to see the chat room, we will see if it helps.

Larry, well John's thoughts are somewhere warm , no wind and humidity ....I told him the only place I could think of that would be that constant would be six feet under! He didn't like that reply....and like you previous to Christmas, the social calendar just keeps getting filled. Between the tile project, kids home this weekend for a surprise for John(bd) my Mom next week...I feel like the "Holiday Inn" under going renovations! Just wish I hadn't given the maid and cook the next two weeks off! :)...The AV meeting will be .....ahhh...soon!

Devon Tuesday, 2/21/06, 6:16 AM

Morning Everyone, Has anyone heard how Richard (Dick) Larson is doing? I survived the cold also and the 14" of snow we got. Not what I remember from the snow storms when we were young. Like the new format and will get into the chat room when I have more time. Things are real busy here at work. Have a great day. Devon

PJ Tuesday, 2/21/06, 7:10 AM

Hi Devon, the only info I have on Dick Larson is that he doesn't know anyone, and that he has been this way for a long time. This info came from Cheryl at one of our luncheon's, when Cheryl comes home maybe she can give you more info about him./ I remember the snow storms back when we were kids, the last big storm around here was the Halloween storm (forgot what year mid 90's) maybe someone can help me out with the year. It used to be so much fun when those big storms hit, every thing came to a screeching hault and we got to play in all that snow. Now it means a lot of shoveling!!!/ Hey Bobbie Anderson are you home safe and sound from your trip to Disney Land? Hope it was a good one,it looked like you might have hit some bad weather on your way to Florida or did you get lucky and miss it?

Bob Marlowe Tuesday, 2/21/06, 9:12 AM

Hi every one. Well survived the big deep freeze in Co. Woke up Saturday mourning to minus 13. Unusual for this area. broke a record low. I thought somebody moved me back to Superior withot telling me. Back up into the mid forty's today though.

Larry Strack Tuesday, 2/21/06, 10:26 AM

Shoot, I got a pair of snow shoes 3 years ago and haven't had enough snow to make them fun to use. And yes, snow used to be more fun...what took the fun out of it?

PJ Tuesday, 2/21/06, 3:14 PM

Hey Larry, I didn't get out on my snow shoes again this year either but I did get them out to see what condition they were in. It's been about 8 or 9 years since I've been on mine and they are in need of repair, the leather straps are very hard and brittle and the wood is in need of varnish. So I am debating on fixing them up because of the lack of snow. I don't know how far I will get on them even if there is enough snow, because of my bum knee but I am sure going to give it a try. Did you get the pix?

Larry Strack Wednesday, 2/22/06, 4:13 AM

PJ, got the pix...working on project.

Right now I'm a happy camper -- I have a clock I made which has been running for over an hour now with no signs of letting up. Only two problems -- the hands go counterclockwise and I don't have an hour hand on it now. /About 1 1/2 years ago I got the idea of building an all wooden clock (no batteries, no electricity). It has only wooden gears, a pendulum and a weight that makes it work. I researched them on the internet and found plans for one I liked from the U.K. I printed them, but after I read a critique of the clock that said it only ran for four hours before needing rewinding, I decided I needed to redesign it. I wanted it to run for at least 24 hours without rewinding. I studied what makes clocks work, redesigned it (adding more gears and other modifications) and set out to build it. It has 17 gears (I think), some with as many as 60 teeth and some with only 8 teeth. I cut everything out with a scroll saw. When I first assembled it last Feb, I couldn't get it to run. By then, I had over 150 hours into making the clock, not counting all the research finding one, or discovering how they work. Frustrated, I put it aside and went on to making other things. /Last month I picked up the project again. I sent away for plans for a different clock which I thought I would build, then use it to determine what I might have done wrong with my clock. I built it part way, but decided I didn't really want that clock, so picked up mine again. Today, I decided to eliminate the design features I had added and put it together the way it was originally designed. I didn't fully assemble it though, leaving a couple of gears out that ran the hour hand and left the hour hand off. Once I saw it running, I didn't want to stop it and put the rest on. I wanted to see how long it would run. Now if it stops in the middle of the night, I won't be able to tell how long it ran (no hour hand). /I know why the hands are going the wrong way, an easy fix. I also saw that I had a special gear on backwards on my original clock when I saw this one running. Tomorrow, I'll stop it (assuming it is still running), add the gears and the hour hand, and and see if it will run again -- and if so, how long. If it does, I'll go back to my redesign and see if I can get that to work. It's a good thing I'm retired, otherwise I couldn't take on a project like this. I'll keep you posted.

Frank, tick, tick, etc...:-) Cool project.

Dave B Thursday, 2/23/06, 1:20 AM

Frank I was wondering about your clock project. Are you really going nuts cause your getting close to 60 ,or are you just fighting boredum like me sitting here at 3 in the morning? Try this for something to do. Make bird houses for wood peckers. Just don't put a hole in it anywhere for them to get into it. Let them make their own hole to get in and then when they get that done, put a door on it and latch it shut. Any body else got any good ideas on how to spend our time? I finally remembered to change the air in my tires from summer air to winter air, and soon it will be time to change it back again. Anyway, Frank , just kidding you about the clock project, sounds like a neat project to me . I started making a model of Dick Bongs P-38 fighter hand carved out of two by fours and one by sixes. Its comming along well, has about a 2 foot wing span. I might even get it finished before I croak or while I'm still able to remember what the hell it started out to be . Anyway, getting past my bed time so bye for now, more BS later. Love, Dave

PJ Thursday, 2/23/06, 7:26 AM

Hey Frank sounds like a neat project you got going there, I hope I will get a pix of it when you get all the bugs worked out of it./ My painting is coming along rapidly, this one is a little easier than the others that I have done. It has a lot of open spaces, and I can use a bigger paint brush so it doesn't take as long to fill in spots./ I got a e-mail from message from a lady in Arizona yesterday that belongs to WEBHOTS, she is a Water Color Artist and asked me if she could paint some of my pix. She then puts them up into webshots in albums, and she also sells them. I was flattered that she found my pix paintable so I gave her permission to use them. She is going to let me know what pix she use's, and I will be anxious to see what it looks like when she gets it done. My daughter Tracy also an artist, uses my pix to paint as well it sure is neat to see something I captured from nature, done into a painting./ Hobbies sure are fun and it's great to have things to do in retirement. Hope you all have a good day. PJ :)

My...we are a clever bunch , aren't we....it's good to hear that I have company in the what to do next department. Dave, I thought only women were up at 3:00 in the morning! I just watch an old movie 'til I shut my eyes! WE are still on the tile project, putting the last tiles in today and the thresholds. I don't know what we'll do with the dogs visitng this weekend. They are accustom to the run of the house. I doubt that the grouting will be completed long enough for running on it. OH well, PJ, I admire your photos as would anyone. It is a great compliment when ones is asked permission to paint from your photos. Tony Yaworski used some of my Dad's photos of the Rockies and Glacier Park for watercolors. I wish I knew of any that existed. Frank, the clock sounds so complicated, hope you'll put photos on the web site. John is hollering...must be time to get down and dirty! ...tiling that is...

PJ Thursday, 2/23/06, 8:31 AM

Kathie it is a good thing you clarified what "down and dirty" meant, with our bunch we may have had a field day with that one. Too Funny!! CJ you are awfully quiet are you swamped at work again???

Frank Thursday, 2/23/06, 9:03 AM

Well, the clock ran for a little over 3 hours last night before it stopped. I'll go down in a bit and add the missing pieces and start it again. Actually there are pictures of it in the webshots site I have. You can get there from this site's home page. /I am up at 3:00 a.m. too, albeit only for a short "pit stop." Actually I go to sleep before 9 each night and generally get up about 7, -- but I don't take naps.

Carla Thursday, 2/23/06, 9:24 AM

I'm here...slowly beginning to comprehend the conscious world (more coffee!!) I'm getting quite irritated at myself: I try to stay up to watch the Olympics every night, and every night I fall asleep around 8:30-9:00 & wake back up when their done & the news comes on - out here, that's been around 11 or 11:30pm. Then when I finally DO go to bed, I can't sleep! But enough of that drivel...!/ Frank - I just took a look at your clock on webshots - wow! pretty impressive. I'm lucky I can saw in a straight line! FInally bought a circular saw a few weeks ago - got a sore arm from using a hand saw. I like thinks that don't use electricity. Every once-in-awhile I get an urge to try not to use any/much elec. (on the weekends only) - I have oil lamps & candles, a manual coffee grinder, a small camp stove that uses Sterno fuel...don't have non-electric heat tho'... Would like to install a small wood-burning stove in the living room, eventually. 'Course, comes times for a hot shower & all bets are off! <g>

Devon Thursday, 2/23/06, 10:29 AM

Frank, the clock sounds like a great project. I had a neighbor about 20 years ago that was working on a wood clock. The only metal was the weights. It was a Grandfathers Clock....realy beautiful. The last time I saw him, the clock would run about 4 hours at a time, Then he would "go in" and do a little sanding and start it again. He said the humidity greatly effected the clock as the wood would swell. Good luck with it. Devon

PJ Thursday, 2/23/06, 11:13 AM

"Ah for crying out loud" Frank, I didn't see that pix when I looked at yours albums a while back, DAH! Or did you just add it? I have you up on my page as a favorite and it (webshots) lets me know if someone from my list has added a new pix, did they mess up or is it my senility that missed the pix in the first place? Anyway, that is really cool!!! Hey everybody see that bowl of balls in Franks pix, I have 3 of those balls on my desk top. Frank was so kind as to send me a Thank You gift for my work on the site, a gift I cherish! They are really cool I will put a pix of them up on the Home Page. We have so many talented people in our class, I know there has to be many more of our classmates that have talents but we won't ever know because they don't participate in the site, and that's really sad./ Oh boy CJ, if I could I would have a wood stove in this apartment. I miss heating with wood and the smell of a wood fire MMMMMMMM. When I go for my walks I get to smell it once in awhile, but it's not the same cause it ain't heating me.

PJ Thursday, 2/23/06, 11:45 AM

Ok pix is up! Hey CJ did you flip back and forth between the Olympics and American Idol last night? What do the think about 'ACE'? If I could shed about 40 years off my life, I would go get that one OOHH, he's got my vote and so far boy can he sing.:)

Carla Thursday, 2/23/06, 12:51 PM

Nope - I don't normally watch American Idol - people are too mean on it. I tuned in last time because a co-worker was raving about Bo. I do watch some of Skating w/Celebrities (because of the skating) and Dancing w/the Stars (because of Jerry Rice - football connection), but only while the participants are performing - I don't listen to the judges. Most of them are too nasty. There's enough meanness & nastiness in the world as it it is - don't need to waste my time watching people getting paid to be that way... //Besides, I was watching the 2nd part of Windsor Castle on PBS. Had to laugh when the Christmas carolers went to serenade the horses in the stable before they went to sing to the Queen... (They got better refreshments from the Queen.)

PJ Thursday, 2/23/06, 1:46 PM

I totoally agree with you on how mean those judges can get, I just listen to them sing and then I flip over to something else. I don't like that part of it either. But when it comes to music I have to check it out, there is a lot of good singers this year even better than last year. I have been watching Windsor Castle too but I missed the part about the caroling. Haven't been watching the skaters or dancers. I've missed some good stuff on PBS because of the Olympics but some times they repeat and maybe I will catch up then.

Len Thursday, 2/23/06, 8:36 PM

Carla, take a plastic drum and paint it black, build about a 12 foot platform and place the drum on top. Next, take a 55 gallon (metal) drum and put it on a fire pit. Fill it full of water and heat it for about an hour. Take a hand pump and move the heated water to the drum on the platform. Make sure you have a hose with a shut off on it coming from the drum. Now you should be able to take a nice hot shower for about an hour. NO ELECTRICITY.

Bob, I was'nt too surprised to see a comment from you about the wooded balls that "belong" to Patty. Thought it was humorous. Sort of an unusual item to collect unless ,of course, you happen to be Howdy Doodys E-wife. Dave

PJ Sunday, 2/26/06, 8:39 AM

Boy can I tell you two, (Dave and Bob) are my cousins, you sound like my brothers, something they would have said and commented on. This is how I deal with my brothers had they couldn't resist the temptation to TEASE, I use my un lady like verbal attack and say, F... Y..! :) Then we all laugh and once again I TRY to remember that they really do love me, I THINK!!!! I apologize Frank for putting your kind gesture in the path of the family sense of humor I must have had another brain fart. I should have known better, please forgive me? I am still smiling Frank I hope that you are too? In this world today with all it's insanity, if my brain fart gives everyone a good laugh then I will continue to laugh at myself. PJ at her best!!! :)

Len Sunday, 2/26/06, 8:48 AM

PJ don't let those wooden balls freeze up North, I,m taking in the heat down hear in Florida. I left that 12" of snow behind. Bob, and Dave, did you notice, I said snow. Have a nice snowy day PJ.

PJ Sunday, 2/26/06, 8:58 AM

Len, I will make sure they don't freeze up!!! Oh you guys are so in trouble, I will get even you do know that don't you?? :) Len where you just in the chat room? How the heck does the darn thing work, or where you talking to someone else at the same time I was in the chat room. Larry's name keeps coming on screen but he doesn't answer, can someone explain this thing to me?????

PJ Sunday, 2/26/06, 9:44 AM

Speaking of snow, it's snowing right now, once again. I remember a few months ago that the snow was pretty and I knew it would loose it's appeal well it has now lost it's appeal! I am ready for golfing, green grass and flowers, birds chirping, (even the bugs I think). I need to plant a money tree this summer so I can go south in the winter too!!!!!

Len Sunday, 2/26/06, 10:06 AM

PJ,no I wasn't.

PJ Sunday, 2/26/06, 10:29 AM

Oh for funny! Ok Len it took me awhile to figure out what you where talking about, but I realized I asked you if you where in the chat room./ Larry and I succeeded in having a conversation in the chat room, finally I think I know how to use it. It sure is by chance though, that you hook up with someone. One has to wait around and who has the patience for that, not sure if this thing is worth having up or not? Anyone else have any success's having a conversation with anyone?/ Larry I did remember that I had written down the songs and that I had them somewhere in my Reunion File, this is the list: Yesterday, The Midnight Hour, OOO Baby, Baby, Mustang Sally, Nights in White Satin, I think any songs that you can remember from 65 would work for the project. If you can think of more go ahead and use whatever you can come up with.

Bob Beetcher Sunday, 2/26/06, 12:36 PM

Bob M, here's a shout out to you. I'm spending this Sunday afternoon working on a home tiling project, like some of the other folks have been talking about, and thought of you. We have Dish network Satellite TV and one of the music channels they offer is the Sirius Satellite Radio's Elvis Channel. We love to listen to it for background. So, I couldn't help picturing you there serenading us as we went about our work. Elvis lives!!! //P// Kathy, Dave, we're working through a tiling project too. As I'm sure you know, most of the work is in the prep rather than actually laying the tile. I'm in the home stretch. We're putting in some 12" square granite to cover over the original counter tops. You can check out some of the project process here, http://home.earthlink.net/~bsbeetchers/homeprojects/ index.htm, if you're interested. //P// Len, don't revel too much in your escape of the snow. We've done that permanently here in NC where we haven't seen any ice or snow all winter. It's like just months of beautiful Wis fall weather; sunny, with highs in the 50's and 60's. Look forward to seeing you up in God's country around Lake Nebagamon this summer. Is that huge remodeling job at your place done yet.

Sorry about the extra blank in the URL in my earlier note. This one might work better: http://home.earthlink.net/~bsbeetchers/homeprojects/ index.htm

From: Raleigh, NC

Bob Beetcher Sunday, 2/26/06, 12:41 PM

Maybe it isn't me after all. I think the Guest Book sign in is inserting it automagically. To get it to work, one needs to delete the blank in front of the word "index".

From: Raleigh, NC

Bob Beetcher Sunday, 2/26/06, 12:43 PM

I'm gonna try one more time just to see if it's me or the web site putting in that blank. http://home.earthlink.net/~bsbeetchers/homeprojects/ index.htm

From: Raleigh, NC

Bob Beetcher Sunday, 2/26/06, 12:45 PM

Yup, it's the web site guest book automatically doing that. I guess one just needs to watch out for it inserting extra spaces in URLs that one might post out here. Later...

From: Raleigh, NC

PJ Sunday, 2/26/06, 1:34 PM

Hey cousin could it be that the web site titles the home page on our site "index" instead of home page that they are recognizing it in this way??? Just a thought maybe it doesn't have anything to do with it.

PJ Sunday, 2/26/06, 1:54 PM

Bob,I was able to copy and paste the URL and remove the blank space and found my way to your blue prints and photos. Looks like quite a project, is that a HOT TODDIE on the cupboard, so you can keep your sanity while working on your project? PJ :)

Frank Sunday, 2/26/06, 2:32 PM

It's been a while since I've been here. I see some comments about my "balls." They (the comments) reminded me of the time I put my pictures up on webshots and PJ put a link to the site here. There were a few of the females (assuming they were not males signing in as females) who wanted to see more "shots on the bed" - and the word "cheesecake" was used as I recall. Now it seems as if there is some jealousy (or maybe envy) from some of the males related to my nice gesture. Oh well -- can't please everyone, -- but PJ, I'm glad you like my balls.

PJ Sunday, 2/26/06, 6:32 PM

Yes I do Frank!!! :)

Bob Beetcher Monday, 2/27/06, 7:39 PM

PJ, I believe the explanation for the chopped URL was just due to the simple formatting done by the little Guest Book comment window. The URL was too wide for the width of that window and it decided to chop it just before the word "index" and then generously inserted an extra blank to boot. Not much we can do about that.

Today's weather: high of 45 w/a 60% chance of rain - snow's all gone down here in the valleys - still lots up in the mtns for the skiers. // I really enjoy reading the 'banter' btwn & among you folks - gives me a good chuckle.//Bob B. - do you & Sandy head back to Wisc on a regular basis each summer? Do you have a 'usual' time for your trips? I've really got to get back there for a visit one of these years... haven't been back since 2000 (or maybe it was 1999...) Anyway, I'd like to see as many classmates as I can while I'm back - and good ole' Itasca neighbors!!//Speaking of vacations - my sister Barb & her husband are on their annual trek to Lake Havasu - this time they're going to stay for almost the whole month of March!! Maybe it will be spring when they get back to Solon...

Cousin Bob, I will take your word for it because I know you know more about these things then I do, it is good we know to watch out for that problem in the future./ CJ we sure do have fun in here don't we and it is good to have a good laugh at some of our silliness, it sure brightens up my day. Here is a little helpful hint to all of you who come home to visit in the summer. We are planning on getting together the first Saturday in August at the Shamrock for pizza for anyone who is in town, and would like to join us. No invitations are being sent out this is just going to be a yearly get together for those who are interested. I think we will be golfing in the morning too, will be talking to Dale about that as well./ We will be starting up our luncheon get together's the first Wednesday of April and we will work on the details. I will post all info on the home page. Also just a reminder, anyone who has any announcements or news for or about any classmates please send them to me and I will put them up on the home page./ I also saw Janet Olson today when I was in town, I hope I have convinced her to come to our luncheon's it will be real nice to have her join us.

Bob, yes my house is all done, only took 15 months. Moved in right before xmas. We put complete living quarters above the boat house first and thats where we lived until we moved into the house. I had my share of tiling also. This summer I will have to do the landscaping. You and the wife will have to make a point to stop on in.

Hey Len, make sure you bring back some warm weather when you come back home. It hit 34 today which isn't bad considering, but rain and snow mixed tomorrow YUK. It won't be long now though that sun is nice and warm and things are melting when it stays out all day long. Are you getting in lots of golf too, just like DT. :)

Len Tuesday, 2/28/06, 9:29 PM

PJ, I really don't get into chasing that little white ball around much. We're just down here to kick back for a couple of weeks. Did a little fishing yesterday. Most likely just lay around and worship the sun. Have a good one, and I hope that nice weather keeps Frank's Balls warm.

Bob Beetcher Wednesday, 3/1/06, 6:23 AM

Carla, Sandra and I usually go back for a couple of weeks around the beginning of August. Over the years we've grown to mistrust the weather in July and found August to be a little more reliable. When you're spending a fair amount of money on the travel, a car rental and all, you hate to get screwed by bad weather. It would be great to see you. Targeting that first weekend in August would be a good idea especially with PJ suggesting a mini reunion for that weekend. // PJ, speaking of a mini reunion that sounds great and we'd try hard to get there for it. We love Nebagamon so much, we've even thought about suggesting a get together there at the pavilion or something. That's probably over kill for a small crowd; just nostalgic thinking back to many great nights spent at the Saturday night dances they used to have there while we were in high school. // Len, we'll look forward to seeing you next summer and checking out the remodeling job. Watch for a couple of old codgers on gray bicycles. You'll remember we like to get out on rides around Lake Nebagamon when we're up at the Saremba cabin. Where are you down in FL. We're going to be down there in a couple of weeks for a week long bicycle ride; Bike Florida: http://www.bikeflorida.org/. It routes us through Palatka, St. Augustine Beach, Gainesville. If you're still there, we could check you out. One caveat is Sandra over did it a couple of weeks back running on the treadmill and we might have to cancel out if the soreness doesn't heal up in time.

Bob, it will be great seeing you in August, I'm usually home every weekend. We are in Orlando, But made a trip to Venice for a couple of days. We will only be here tell the 9th, as we have to be back for a wedding, and work. Might be in your country in June, as we have a Special Forces convention at Fort Bragg. See you when we see you. Len

PJ Wednesday, 3/1/06, 7:55 AM

Bob that is a neat idea about Nebagamon, I will pass it along to the girls./ Len we are going get about 3-4" of snow today with a mix of rain as well, one of those messy ones. But yes it is going to stay in the 30's so that is good. I better get out on my walk before it starts to get yucky, you all have a good day.

Carla Wednesday, 3/1/06, 8:41 AM

I do remember those dances at Nebagamon! Esp. the one where I almost got beat up by Betty Hanson... But that's another story <g>//Early weeks of August sound good - daughter Jessica & family are headed to Croatia mid-July - I think they'll be back early part of August. I mention this because, in my grandchild-driven life, I will have to stick around for their return after not seeing my grandson for a few weeks...//Weather: our rain turned to snow just as I was leaving work last night - what a sloppy mess! The little bit that stayed on the ground overnight should melt today as the temps get up into the mid-40s.//Bob - I went to your remodeling website, then out of curiosity to see if you had anything else on your webpage, I went to the 'homepage' & from there went to the vacation & family pages - a few surprises <VBG> Obviously, you haven't made any changes to those pages...(chuckle, chuckle)

Bob Beetcher Thursday, 3/2/06, 8:47 AM

Jeez Carla, what are you doing snooping around up there at the home page? You deserve what you get too curious. I haven't had the time or interest to do anything with that default home page template earthlink lays in place for us. I just use sub directories on the default site to squirrel away a few specific things I care to share and point directly to them. I suppose it could be confusing for someone who looks at that default home page and thinks some of those photos there are of our family. Now you're making me feel guilty that I should go clean the template out so folks will realize there's nothing there of interest. // Len, it would be great to see you when you swing out this way. If it works out to pass through Raleigh, maybe you could stop by the homestead here and we could go out to dinner together or something. Be glad to put you up for the night if that was convenient for you. Just let us know.

Bobby B. - don't you know that anything you put out there (or don't) on the Internet is up for grabs by anyone that wants to look?!? and Carla is as curious as her cats, so I just followed the clues (CSI reference) - I just wanted to see some more photos of you & Sandy...sheesh!///BTW, our local early morning news show is doing a series right now on protecting kids that are using a site called "myplace.com" and how pedophiles use sites like this because kids put way too much info out there... scares the crap out of me!

Carla Thursday, 3/2/06, 9:37 AM

Okay - here's today's chuckle for anyone who wants to read it. When I get to work every morning, I take the keys to our outside dropbox & head back out to check it. This morning, I decided to take the bag of shredding I had done out to the dumpster, too. So, as I toss the bag in, the keys (which stupidly are in the same hand) go flying into the dumpster!! Now, still being on the short side, I can barely reach in to try to move things around to locate them - luckily most of it is in plactic bags or boxes...but when I finally spy them, they're almost at the bottom, out of my reach. And BOTH keys are on the same little ring (dumb, I know - and they're not any more). After a quick look around, I stuck my foot into the little side holder thing (is that what it's for?) and up & over & into I go. Grab the keys, then wonder how I'm going to get out! Luckily, those cardboard boxes were sturdy enough to give me support so I can get to the top & over the side & jump back down to the ground. And I am REALLY happy I wear pants & boots to work!! When I told my co-workers back in the office about it, they laughed so hard, they about fell out of their chairs.

PJ Thursday, 3/2/06, 10:21 AM

Oh CJ, I just have this vision in my mind....that is funny. I am sure at the time it wasn't. Thanks for the chuckle for the day. Hope your day goes better.

Hey Carla, isn't that called "dumpster diving"? Did you find anything else in there interesting??? Glad you weren't hurt.

Carla Thursday, 3/2/06, 12:41 PM

Thanks for your concern, Devon, but the only thing that was wounded was my dignity. By the time I got out, I could "feel" eyes upon me - the dumpster is right in front of the Soil Engineering field office and right across from a traffic control shop, a janitorial service & an HVAC company - I didn't look around.//Nothing good in there either - just office trash.//The only time I ever did any 'fun' dumpster diving was in Pocatello when the very old gentleman across the alley died & his family came to clean out his house, garage, & outbuildings. BUt I did it under cover of darkness, with a flashlight & was dressed apropriately for it. But I found some great stuff!

Ok Gang, DT has been reading along. Time to write in. Bon and I have been in Indio Ca., near Palm Springs, since Feb.1st staying til end of May. Bon's has been shopping everyday to get the house ready for company. The house was naked. The Sullivan boys (Bill & etc.) and wife's will be here tomorrow. I get to ride shotgun with her and when bored- head for the golf course. Golfing and 4:00 cocktail hour what a retirement! Ah, the Lake Nabagamon dances. CJ, wished you would been Betty's butt that night. Know you could have! Evad, Bunda, did we score some beer? Bon's back and it's that time of the day and sun's going down in Cal. still 75.

Mornin', All - TGIF!//DT - ah, to be retired & living life the way you want - I'm so jealous...of ALL you retirees out there! BTW, DT, is that the same Bill Sullivan who was a freshman when we were seniors? Has a brother Mike? (I think) Wife's name completely escapes me right now (DANG!) - blond, pretty, funny... Used to 'hang around' w/them about a "hunnert" years ago, when I was dating Jon Amundson...Yvonne? Is that her name? I have photos from a long-ago Halloween party - she came as a pregnant nun - first time I had ever seen that costume. Thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen...'course, this was back in the 70s...what did I know...//If that's who it is, give them my regards! Bonnie, too - haven't seen her in ages!!

It's about time you spoke up DT, or should I say sobered up. I know those golf courses are pretty hard on you. Eat your heart out, I'm setting here at the Royal Palms on the 17th hole and no desire to even golf. We walk the course every night, that's the closest I get to golf. Walters coming over today and maybe I can lead him astray to one of the pubs. Just kicking it back and taken it easy. When do you plan on coming back to work.

Okay...today is NOT the day to be talking nice weather stuff! It rained last night, is now snowing and we can expect an inch or more....be happy all you basking in the sunshine. Ah, we're still working on the cold weather antifreeze...good old fashined brandy on the rocks or straight..name your poison. Lake Nebagamon does have fond memories...Lou Ann Erickson drove out one Saturday night. Her Dad said if she drove over 40 mph, the car would blow up. Do any of you realize how long it takes to drive to L N at that speed? Too long to stay and have fun when the car has to be back in Superior at 10:30! But my family stayed a week or two out there every summer, Joanne Ansell and I got into pleanty of mischief , loved skinny dipping under the pontoon in the middle of the lake, waterskiing with Jon Henrich and Doug Clark and the dances and the Dairy Queen. ANd we could go on...Hey Carla, what is the connection to Croatia for your family? My grandfather was from Croatia, even have a copy of his immigration papers, but can't read tham as they are written in Croatian.

PJ Sunday, 3/5/06, 11:43 AM

Kathie that is funny "the car will blow up if driven over 40 miles an hour". I bet that if a parent was to use that one today it wouldn't work, the kids today are more informed. I remember going out to the dance's just a couple of times, I think I had to go out with my brothers and they didn't let me out of their site for too long, but it sure was fun trying to get away from them. It's snowing pretty heavy right now but I think it is almost done, just about two inches maybe. UGH! BRING ON THE SUNSHINE PLEASE, AND MELT THIS SNOW NOT GIVE US MORE!!!!!

PJ Monday, 3/6/06, 9:04 AM

Good Morning to you all! Just got back from my walk and cleaning snow off the car once again, we got another 5-6 " between yesterday and this morning and another system coming in tomorrow. "happy" Monday, Everyone (small 'm' intentional). Overcast & rainy here, but better than snow! Boy! those weekends go fast... Spent a 'grandma-day' on Sat. & watched movies, etc.. til my eyes 'bout fell out yesterday - LUV that Netflix! (Cold Mountain, disk 1 of Season 1 of Grey's Anatomy, Carrington), plus the Academy Awards show last evening since it started at 5pm...//Kathie - my son-in-law (the Canadian) is Croatian (last name Prka). His parents live in Canada, but there is still family in Croatia. They're learning Croatian for the trip - if you'd like, send a copy of the birth certificate & I'll bet we can get it translated for you - there are lots more relatives/family up in Canada to help.//I finally got a digital camera - now I just have to learn how to use it!! Sure is different from the little point-and-shoot that I was using... Also bought a Learning Dutch disk/book combo so I can communicate w/my cousins in Belgium. Plus, I got a guitar for Christmas, so am trying to re-learn what I knew back int he 70s. And gardening season will start in just a few weeks... I don't have time to work!! I need to retire so I can do all the things I WANT to do!!!

Frank Tuesday, 3/7/06, 4:39 AM

I'm off to Idaho this morning. SUPERVALU is acquiring Albertsons, and I'm going to do more consulting for them. I went to the office yesterday, and they asked me to get on the plane (corporate jet)this morning for Boise. Come back Wednesday night. There won't be time for play, but - - HEY! I get to GO to IdaHO!

PJ Tuesday, 3/7/06, 7:52 AM

Hey Frank have a safe trip and don't work too hard!// I was watching PBS last night, they had two music special's, the first one was Ricky Nelson and I thought about you Bobby, all those songs reminded me of our gang and learning how to dance, we sure had a lot of fun didn't we? The second was John Denver and anytime I hear his music I think of you CJ. A very nostalgic night to say the least, WOW where has the time gone?? CJ, do you remember the guitar that Jerry had bought me? That quitar was priceless to me all those years, but unfortunetly when I was without income for two years a friend of mine bought it from me. That was about 8 years ago and I think often about talking to him to see if he would sell it back to me. I only new a few cords but it sure was fun playing it not to mention the attachment I had to it. I had forgotten that you knew how to play quitar too, was it when you where seeing John?

Carla Tuesday, 3/7/06, 8:18 AM

Frank - Welcome to the Land of the Great Potato! This is what Jessica (at 10 yrs old) called Idaho when she learned we were moving here. Too bad you're in the opposite part of the state...at least it MAY be warmer there... Heard about the Albertson's thing - we have 2 stores here in CDA (easier that writing Coeur d'Alene all the time). How long will you be there/here? (If you said in your message, I can't remember [sheesh!] - & I can't go back to look until I finish this...!) Okay, time for some coffee now...

Carla Tuesday, 3/7/06, 8:29 AM

PJ - by "John" do you mean 'Jon'? You really got me confused!! Couldn't remember that I ever went out with anyone named John...don't confuse me so early in the mroning! And, no, it wasn't while I was w/Jon... I don't really remember anything, either. Bought Guitar for Dummies & am starting all over. Forgot how much it hurts the fingertips. Last time, the stell strings were switched for nylon ones & were much easier on my little fingers. I'm not about to attempt to change them myself, so it's slow going...except that my fingernails are growing twice as fast so I have to keep clipping them! {okay - the phone just rang & I have completely lost my train of thought, so I guess I'll just end here!)

PJ Tuesday, 3/7/06, 9:22 AM

Oh I remember how it hurt the fingers, and yes the plastic strings did help I had tried them too. I was doing good with about 4 cords learned, till I had to do the B cord and I couldn't reach with my stubby short fingers and I lost interest because it was an important cord needed in a lot of songs. And yes I meant Jon after I wrote it I thought I had spelled it wrong, but the phone rang and didn't have a chance to go back and fix it. Sorry to confuse you so early. Chuckle :)

Kathie Tuesday, 3/7/06, 12:24 PM

Looks like I have a little catching up to do....Carla I will get a copy made and send it on to you...My maiden name, Kukull, was oringinally Kukolja..if that helps..clear as mud..while traveling through Hungary with my daughter(she taught ESL there for a year) i discovered that Grmps was born in Austria, lived in Croatia, and emmigrated from Severin, which is now a part of Romania. Glad we didn't have to learn all of the boundaries in Miss Fox's classes...we'd have gone crazy! But that was the Austrio-Hungarian empire at that time. We also had a Belgium foreign exchange student with us for seven months, from Mons. He was the greatest and a life saver for Aimee when she was a student in the Netherlands during her college years. She'd train over to Mons for weekends and have a bit of home life. Interesting how our heritage creeps up on us and how very small the world is becoming. Now if we could get everyone on the same page and keep this old world in one piece....Carla, I envy you in CDL as I believe it is one of the most beautiful places in this United States! That and Flat Head Lake in northern Montana. One cannot imagine the colors of blue in the water..

Hey PJ, this is mainly for you. You told us about another snow storm hitting up there a few posts back. I thought it might make you feel a little better to know we had a big snow storm hit here too. This URL should take you to some shots I took today of the snow hanging on the trees: http://home.earthlink.net/~bsbeetchers/snowstorm/ind ex.htm Remember, you might have to take blanks out of the URL to make it work.

Good Morning to everyone! I was down for the count yesterday with a major migraine, made all my normal headaches look minor in comparison. It's been a long time since I had one that bad. I have started reading my journals from the beginning, starting back in 1987. I'm in the 8th journal (summer of 91) it's no wonder I had a migraine, YIKES who was that person? I have learned a lot about myself over the last 19 yrs and I am glad that part of my life is past.//Cousin thanks for the pix may I have your permission to put a couple up on the site? Tell me cousin are you pulling my leg about the snow those trees look like they have blossoms on them instead of snow? If I know your sense of humor correctly my guess is they are blossoms, and if they are they sure are beautiful and it makes me want to take my hair dryer outside and help MOTHER NATURE and me, by helping her melt some of this snow. The temp is staying in the 30's for the most of the day and it is melting. Spring is on it's way!// Hi Dawn so glad you stopped by and happy you all had a good time. When is Cheryl and Ray coming home? I have a ton of things to do today seeing's how I didn't get anything done yesterday, have a great day everyone.

PJ, it's in the 40's to 50's down here. :-)

PJ Thursday, 3/9/06, 10:15 AM

I know Larry :), my daughters remind me everyday that I could be still enjoying warmmer weather if I moved back down there, not going to happen. Being in Solon helps a lot, my temp here is reaching for 40 any minute now because it's only noon. The snow she is a melting, Yeah!!! :)// I also got good news I have gotten my Cholestrol down 19 points, started taking over the counter Cholest Off, $9.00 @ WalMart and no side effects. Sure beats over $70 Prescription the Doc wants me to go on w/ side effects. My good HCL is 90 which is very good, LDL is 145 she wants me to get the LDL down below 130. We will hopefully have met those requirements at next months check. YEAH :)

Cousin Bob, I guess I am not so gullible anymore but I got a good laugh out of it. :) I will be putting some of your pix up and a special one from CJ, so don't forget to check them out everyone. It will be good to put some color other than my snowstorm pix.//Frank, CJ's new game Noah's Ark is fun, two different speeds so it doesn't get to frantic. Ok I am off to do some work in the site, later everybody.

Thanks to DT for the neat video,TAKE ME BACK TO THE SIXTIES. I got it set up at the top of the page for a nice intro into our site, just remember that it plays music for those of you at work. I have also added IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS AREA right under it, I am hoping that everyone will get into the habit of checking that out especially us girls who are going to be starting up our LUNCHEON'S again next month so you will be informed of possible changes to time and place when they should happen.// Hey Devon how you doing haven't heard from you in awhile???

Larry Strack Tuesday, 3/14/06, 3:19 AM

Great video! Only watched it at work...we're not allowed to have sound. Much to my dismay, we had snow dumped on us again. I was playing paintball in the mud one day and blowing 11 inches of snow the next.

PJ Tuesday, 3/14/06, 9:25 AM

Just came in from cleaning snow off my car and walking, it looks like we got about 10" or more hard to tell it was blowing it around so much. Let's hope that this was winter's last hurrah for the season. The streets were clean of all ice and snow for a couple of days now it's all back again. After this cold spell it will start melting again at least we can count on that at this time of the year.// Hey Larry wait till you hear the music with the video it's fantastic.

Bob Beetcher Tuesday, 3/14/06, 10:29 AM

You'all up in Superior made the national news this morning on the "Today Show". They showed a little segment on Superior reporting a 5" snow fall and streets so slippery folks were going off the road. They showed a couple of guys at some intersection hunched over against the cold blowing snow trying to deal with a car in the ditch. You might be starting to contend with International Falls for notoriety. // When I went out to the truck this morning, I saw these white flakes plastered all over it and thought we'd been hit too. But then on closer inspection, I saw that it was just some of the Pear tree blossoms blown down by the light rain we had this morning.

Look at the "Take me back home to the sixties". Great work. Enjoyed it greatly.;P We didn't get any snow here, although we had rain, sleet and high winds. Just a nasty day. Have had a few beautiful days....highs in the sixties.P Any of you that have problems sleeping...waking up several times each night and etc. I checked and was diagnosed with sleep apnia and am now on a C-PAP machine when I sleep. Has made a very huge difference in the quality of sleep and how I feel. Most nights I sleep all night through.P My granddaughter (5 years old) told me she was ready to go see the race cars again. She means the World of Outlaws winged sprint cars. Got to get back to work as lunch is over. CJ..I was stationed in southern Idaho at Mountain Home AFB. I really liked it their. Wish I had stayed in some ways.

Cousin Bob you are Too Funny, I wish I could send you some of this darn old snow, good grief March is just a bowl of cherries around here. So we made the news huh well what do ya know! It was nasty out there, when it stops me from going for my walk it's bad.// Hey Devon good to hear from you and it sounds like your doing a whole lot better, that is good news. Hey I have seen those Sprint Car races and they are funny to watch they look like toys buzzing around on the track.// Hey Frank are you back from Idaho yet, you got to try CJ's new game, NOAH'S ARK it isn't nerve racking like some of the others unless you do the one that has a time limit. I do the easiest one so it doesn't bother my shoulder so much. It amazes me that I don't see some of the pairs it's like I am blind or something.// CJ how you doing with that new camera of yours love the pix of where you live it sure does look peaceful.

Back from Boise. Spent only two days, one night, and all work. I did get to watch the sun set on the mountains while I was eating supper. We had a fire alarm go off at 11:30 pm in the hotel/motel (whatever you call those 3 story places that call themselves "suites"). I stayed in bed hoping it would stop, but after I heard the fire trucks coming, I got up, got dressed and went outside. It turned out to be a false alarm. / I did get a chance to play CJ's games just a couple of times. I swear I pick pairs and they don't give me credit for them. I haven't looked at them closely to see if there are subtle differences, but if not, maybe it's my mouse. It sure can't be me! / It was a full week at work last week and both days so far this week. From now on I expect it to be hit and miss.

and we have an October birth,,, alittle early to get the champagne out, but ....Drove down here on Monday, and sat in Cannon Falls for two hours. finally took the back roads and arrived in Barrington at around 7:30..not bad considering I left Apple Valley at 9:45....snowed until Janesville. I had a difficult time turning into the drive way here the ice was so thick! WE didn't get plowed out until late afternoon! Hey Larry, did you go to work on Monday?

Good Morning to you all! Congratulations Kathie, that is good news. Glad your home safe from your trip Frank, I will have to pay more attention to the game, hadn't noticed that it wasn't adding the points for the pairs.

PJ Wednesday, 3/15/06, 10:13 AM

Hey Frank, I am getting points for doubles, but you get lots more points if you get doubles of the same kind all in a row, then you start racking up points.

Congrats Kathie! And, yes I did go to work Monday...last time I checked we lived in MN and it's still Winter, thus the snow. ;-) Devon, you know me...I've always been the quiet type. Just haven't had anything noteworthy to post I guess.

A great big CONGRATULATIONS to you, Kathie!! Give those 'grand-dogs' some competition!//Frank - southern Idaho is so different from northern Idaho that there's no way to compare the two. Gotta love those mountains, tho'...north AND south! //Devon - I'll have to forego the DD competition -- too many fun things to do in CDA during the summer. Besides, I'd only be competing at the amateur-level anyway, & no big trophies for that...<g> //PJ & Frank - that dang game!! I don't quite understand how they determine the points for pairs, so I've been concentrating on increasing my Speed Bonus amounts. I got up to 268 once (& no, it wasn't on Level 1 or 2 either). And I haven't been able to get past Level 11. (sigh) //Well, I'm taking 2 days off to watch grandkids, so I won't be able to read/write until next Monday. Everyone have a great St. Paddy's Day - don't drink too much green beer! Erin Go Bragh!! (or for you very Gaelic folks out there: Eirinn gu brath!)

Supposed to be snowing but, the last time I looked out the sun was shining. We are supposed to get about 5 inches by midnight. Yes Larry you were quiet, but that was when you were much younger. Now you are as BAD as the rest of us. And don't give us the innocent bit. You know, you can't BS a BS'er. A I am a BS'er.....finally learned to accept that. Everyone have a great day.

Yup, hanging around with you guys, during my formative years, has certainly had an impact on me. And to answer your question Devon, yes you are! Kathie, couldn't stop the snow. Gotta get home now and clean up the pile the snow plow has most certainly left at the end of the drive.

Wow, got a little excited there when I saw everyone's name. The life of pumping gas in Allouez Garage has long past and I have moved on to many new adventures. I know it sounds a little like braging, but life is good. I have been married to Patty Murphy going on 35yrs, traveled the world working for GE as a service engineer and manager. Have settled down in Largo,FL where I have a small CPA practice, Fly Co-pilot in a Bizjet 5 to 10 days a month and I also have my masters in hypno-therapy. I work a the local hospital 2 half days a week when I am in town working with cancer patients who are going through chemo/radiation treatment. Life has been good.

Hi to you also Bob Marlowe, you have been working too hard again, and we will hold you to your word and that we will hear more from you. Tell Carol that I hope so much that her surgery is sucessful, and I will put her on the prayer list. What a strong women to be able to handle going through a 4th surgery and please keep us informed of her progress!!!! Have you been practicing your Elvis Impersonation lately? I had good news from the Doctor about my voice going hoarse so much, the nodes on my vocal cords are barely visibe and my throat is healthy. It's another one of those "gettin older things" UGH! I have to take GUAIFENESIN to keep the vocal cords more lubricated and I have noticed a difference already, we will sing a duet next reunion my friend and do a good job of it. PJ:)

Hey all, Sandra and I are going to need a little psychic energy (read that prayers or maybe some of Jim's hypno-therapy) next week. We're heading off tomorrow to ride Bike Florida, http://www.bikeflorida.org/, a weeklong ride, for the 4th year in a row. But this time, we haven't been able to do much of any training to prepare for it and, as most of you likely know, throwing a lot of strange exercise at your body suddenly doesn't work out too well. At our pace, the daily rides will take us 5 or more hours to get through. One consolation is that it's the geriatric tour with many of the other riders being older and slower than us. If I never post again, you'll know we didn't make it.

HI, Thanks for the quick response back but when I was looking at my e-mail address over there on the right with my address, I would like to know who Mary is or should I know her. I married Pat Murpy from Central Park and I have been married to her for 34 or 35 yeas now. Don't think that would go over to big if she saw that. She might think I had another wife or something. I think everyone should have a house project, certainly keeps one humble..and we finally realize we aren't as young as we used to be. WE have another foot of snow in the front yard, and to think two weeks ago I could see grass...Guess Bachman's will still be a dream for a month or so ( local garden shop)!Note on our desk..Hastings club house opens March22, guess it won't be open for golf for a while...Bob and Sandy, hope your "saddle sores" are little ones! Well, I just vented on Corporate America. (The corporation being Direct T.V.) ( A satelitie provider.) I don't know if any of you have seen their latest commercial or if their service is even in your area. I personally take great offence to it. It starts out with two men talking about one's acomplishments and another talking about the fact that he has Direct T.V. It eventually takes you into the Mens room where the two are relieving themselves. Com'on with a world full of sexual predators and wierdos out there, do we really have to subject our children to this kind of advertiseing? What do I say to my three year old grand daughter when she asks me, (what are they doing grandpa?) I sent a email to Direct T.V. & told them exactly what I thought of their commercial. Believe me , I'm not a prude, I just happen to believe that there is a time and a place for everything, & two men standing at a urinal on public television, during prime time, is not the time or the place.

HI everyone. Just thought I would try and drop a note again to see how good this works. Wanted to tell everyone that on March 29 of this year will my Dad will be 90 Randy said that he was going to have a cake at the garage for him so if anyone is out that way stop and say hi and maybe a few can remind him of a time or two when he pulled you ourt of a snow bank or something. I am still trying to get home myself so we will see. I am scheduled to fly out to SD and depending on weather and time of day and a number of other factors I was trying to talk the owner of the plane to let me and the chief pilot fly to Superior for the day. Long shot but worth trying. Well close for now thanks again for having this wonderful site JIM

Bob Marlowe way to go, we all need to do these things more. There is a whole lot more junk commercials on TV that should be protested, for the very reasons that you bring up. No matter how closely we may monitor what children are allowed to watch on TV. some stuff gets through our ever watchful eyes, children are like sponges they absorb in a instant.// Jim, I will put up an announcement on the Home Page, thanks for letting us all know about your Dad's party. I am very pleased to know that you like the site and that you are participating, it really is nice to have another classmate join us. Did you get my e-mail that I sent you?

Good Morning to everyone! Last year at this time I was embarking on my first time volunteering to work on our up coming 40th class reunion. I was taught by the masters Dale and Linda, they showed me how the process was done. Little did I know how much I was going to like doing this, and the reward for my time has been #1 the renewing of old friendships. With our initial first meeting on March 17th 2005, and in the two weeks of searching and verifying address's and sending out the invites, the three of us decided it would be great to have a WEB SITE for our classmates, so we created a name and put it on the invitations for the reunion that we sent out. In the realization that we would have classmates looking for a web site that we didn't have up yet, we needed to hurry and get the site up and working. With the help of Dale's son-in-law, we got our site and www.EHS65.com was born. Dale called me and told me that I needed to download the Site Builder Program, which I would need to create our site as we see it today. What a rush for me, I was completley computer illiterate when I had first got my computer in 2003, what I knew about computer's was all self taught through trial and error, lots of errors, and least of all, I knew nothing about WEB SITE Design. So as our web site was born, I have grown along side of it, I have learned a lot and I THANK YOU DALE TROLSON for giving me this opportunity. Our site will be 1 year old on April 5th, 2006 and I look forward to another year with all of you, and I want to say THANKS TO ALL OF YOU that have stayed with me and to those who are just joining our site. So stayed tuned for a 1 year Birthday surprise on the 5th of April. Have a super day and a good work week. LOVE TO YOU ALL! :) PJ

Yep, this ten to twelve year old boy comes in, and holds up one of the clerks with a gun. (We don't know if it was real or not. Looked real though.) He got four packs of cigarettes. Can you believe it? Where do you suppose this young mans life is headed? Came in just to steal four packs of cigs., no money. Unbelieveable. News flash about the Direct TV. commercial. Will send you some pictures it, showing it in the day time, and nite shots, via mail, seeing we have trouble scaning & sending through the internet. The one rose color boulder to the left is solid granite & weighs over 1,100 lbs. Yup, I placed it myself (I'm still a anaimal.) Although I felt a pull in my tummy, and still feel it every now & then. (DUMB-DUMB DUMB!!!) My wife came home from work & asked me who helped me get it in place, & I told her I did it by myself. (SHE JUST SCHOOK HER HEAD!)

PJ Tuesday, 3/28/06, 1:14 PM

Way to go Robert, I do hope you are going to be alright? Did Carol have her surgery yet? I look forward to seeing your photos, and will put them up on the home page for all to enjoy. Congratulations on standing up for your rights as a consumer and for all the rest of those who see these things and know that they need to be changed but never take the initiative to do something about Hat's off to you Robert!!!

Bob Marlowe Tuesday, 3/28/06, 1:46 PM

Thanks P.J. I'm fine, I think I'm begining to self heal. Haven't felt too much lately. Carol is scheduled for surgery on 4/25. Praying everthing goes well.

Bob -- I want to amend/revise/redo my earlier comment. "Congratulations Bob!-- YOU BE DA MAN!!!" --

Frank Tuesday, 3/28/06, 6:17 PM

I don't know what happened, but I wasn't done with the last comment before it got sent. Boy I wish this site had spell check -- I can't tell you how many corrections I've made already! /PJ -- I thought you really opened us up for attack when you replied it was ok for me to "smooch" you on the "cheeks" -- remember this is the same audience that commented on the "balls" and suggested I show some "cheesecake" in my photos on the internet. / Perhaps you threw out the bone, and nobody picked it up? Hardly seems like this group.

Frank Tuesday, 3/28/06, 6:21 PM

Me again! Bob -- does the term "hernia" mean anything to you? / We're having fun now!

Kathie Wednesday, 3/29/06, 7:29 AM

I hope everyone else is getting the "giggles" right about now...thanks, folks, for getting my day off to a good start! Bob, I have a few boulders in the front yard that need to be "remodeled". We certainly could use your expertise! Got a great guest room and all to food you can eat! How's that for fair wages...I could promise you no 12 year olds or guns...we just have them walk into our garage in broad daylight and steal golf clubs and tools! Frank...you could assist! With your yard photos, you seem to have a handle on the exterior decorating! PJ, come on down and photograph the events...what a party!!!!!

Bob Marlowe Wednesday, 3/29/06, 8:13 AM

Kathie, sounds like a plan. But you would also have to throw in all the beer I could drink, and that may cost you more then having a professional do it. HA- HA!!

PJ Wednesday, 3/29/06, 8:39 AM

Oh too funny! Let me know when, where, and what time the party is I will have camera in hand and be there.// You know Frank, I really did hesitate to putting the "smooching the cheeks" in for the very same reason, but I thought "oh what the heck", we will see what happens. You know I have always provided "cheap intertainment" with my naive honesty, so I figure it's too late to change now, besides it is sorta fun, especially when I do it without even thinking about the double meanings. I usually have a good laugh at myself! But this was one of those times when I did actually think about my words, and who would jump in on this one. Cousin Bob must be totally wore out from his week bike run, and cousin David is working too much, so maybe we are safe with this one?????? Now I am being naive again. :)

PJ Wednesday, 3/29/06, 8:44 AM

Forgot to say Thank you to Kathie and Larry. Speaking of Larry you are being way too quiet as of late, is it that you are too busy working on our project?

Carla Wednesday, 3/29/06, 8:50 AM

Okay, you guys - have to say - I almost lost/spit out a mouthful of coffee at Frank's "throwing out the bone" comment...

Larry Strack Wednesday, 3/29/06, 9:54 AM

PJ, I've been busy taking out walls, painting and replacing floors in our house. The wood floors go in next week and the carpet the week after. Then Easter, a weekend paintball game in Chicago followed by another weekend painball event in Morristown, MN...then I'll be spending some time on our project. I'll e-mail you about something I've been thinking about, as soon as I have the time.

PJ Wednesday, 3/29/06, 10:04 AM

Okie Dokie Lar, I know your a busy guy can't wait to hear what you might have come up with!!!!!

PJ Wednesday, 3/29/06, 10:08 AM

Careful CJ we don't want you to choke on hot coffe and laughter!!!!! But it has been one of those rather hillarious mornings that only our class can provide. Got to admit we sure do have a good time don't we. AIN'T IT FUN!!!!! :) :) :)

Carla Thursday, 3/30/06, 8:43 AM

Hey, PJ - did you watch LOST last night? Was that a kick-a-- episode or what?!?! Just checked the message board & those folks are going crazy. Here's something: the woman that Locke was checking out the house for was Nadia, Sayid's 'girlfriend' from Iraq! How's that for (another) incredible twist?!? This show drives me crazy! God,I love it!!

Bob Marlowe Thursday, 3/30/06, 11:01 AM

P.J. Pictures of the pond are on the way! Kathie, I think you will see that it would be well worth all the beer I can drink, if I were to come up there & build you one. HA-HA!

Devon Thursday, 3/30/06, 11:05 AM

I guess I'll wade in for some trouble......WHAT "CHEEKS ARE YOU TALKING?" ABOUT????". Just got to learn to shut my pie hole, but your two baited the comment.

Devon Thursday, 3/30/06, 11:06 AM

Larry, can't believe you haven't spoke your piece on this subject.

Hi - I have a question for anyone who is more computer-literate than I (which is just about everyone!) - do you know what it takes/how much it (generally) cost to have a backlight on a laptop computer fixed? (how's that for an of-the-wall question?!?)

Bob Marlowe Thursday, 3/30/06, 1:10 PM

Carla, $5,000.00

Carla Thursday, 3/30/06, 1:12 PM

Holy Crap!!! Guess it would be cheaper to buy a new one, right?

PJ Thursday, 3/30/06, 2:19 PM

It never fails every time I am away from this computer all kinds of stuff is happening. CJ, yes I watched lost last night but I missed recognizing the lady as Saieds old girlfriend, I just seem to miss this little things. Got to love this show!// Devon, I think I will remain silent on this one so I don't get into any more trouble. Because I could take off with this thing but I don't know if Frank would want me too. So I will behave, DARN!// I will be looking for the pix!!!!

carla Thursday, 3/30/06, 2:47 PM

hey, PJ - do you ever watch Grey's Anatomy on Sunday night? I really like that one a lot. Wish it was on a little earlier, at 9 instead of 10. Actually, I wish they would switch it w/the Housewives - don't like that one as much any more.

Devon Thursday, 3/30/06, 3:16 PM

PJ.....Just had to ask.

PJ Thursday, 3/30/06, 3:30 PM

CJ, no I haven't watched that one and I am not sure why, I may have to check it out. Housewives isn't my favourite either, Sunday nite is my night for PBS, most of the time that's probably why.// Hey Devon you don't know how hard I am trying to behave myself, but at the same time I sure am getting a good laugh about this, I wonder where Frank is, waiting in the weeds to see what's going to happen next, right Frank????

cj Thursday, 3/30/06, 3:42 PM

okay...then...on PBS, have you ever watched either Monarch of the Glen or Rosemary and Thyme...?

PJ Thursday, 3/30/06, 4:19 PM

No CJ, haven't heard of those maybe we don't get them here. I,ve been playing Noah, Free Fall Expert, Level 20, 130100 pts. Love this game. Cousin Dave stopped by with a CD with 100 games, and downloaded this motorcycle game, and if I drank I would have a bottle sitting right in front of me and drown myself, that's how frustrating the dang thing is. I think I am going to delete it cause it makes me too darn mad.

PJ Thursday, 3/30/06, 4:29 PM

Hey I just heard Omaha Nabraska had a tornado touch down, Peter Ralph are you out there? Hope you and your family are all ok!!!

PJ, sorry I wasn't around to pick up on the cheek kissing offer from Frank. Didn't somebody once say he was a real A$$ Ki$$er. Carla, I totally missed the "throwin out the bone" angle till you mentioned it. We can now see how your mind works. // Thanks to any and all who might have sent us good thoughts for the Bike Florida ride we just went through. We handled it pretty well actually. // If you'd like to get a feel for what it was like for us, you can check it out at this URL: http://home.earthlink.net/~bsbeetchers/Bfl2006Diary/ If the URL doesn't work as is for you, try adding "index.htm" to the end of it.

Hey Frank, I agree with you. Please accept my apologies. It was sort of a cheeky comment. I never heard anyone call you an A$$ Ki$$er. I got a little carried away and made that up on the fly. I'll try to restrain myself in the future.

I agree on the group hug, very nicely done guys. Robert nice Pix, it looks so nice and warm there. I remember seeing that big old Ocean, when I was out there back in 91, it was pretty neat. Glad you made it through ok. I can only ride my bike 4 mi and I am done in, can't imagine doing a long trip like you two can do. How many miles did you ride a day, and what was the total altogether?// We have flood warnings out today from the melting ice pack and almost an inch of rain. Nemadji is up to 17.1 flood stage is 20. Temp has been about 50 sure is nice to see the snow disappearing.// Finnished my painting, just have to mat and frame it for my grand daughter's 1st Birthday coming up in June. This one didn't take so long, a lot of big open spaces to fill in not as much small detail. The next one will be of a buck and doe standing by a stream in the winter. Much more detail this could take one awhile.

PJ Friday, 3/31/06, 12:35 PM

Correction I meant to say "snow" instead of ICE!!!

Bob Beetcher Friday, 3/31/06, 2:44 PM

PJ, maybe we can get you out here to see that ocean again sometime. Round trip from MSP to Raleigh can be had for around $200 bucks. We'd be glad to host you here and do a beach trip (only a 2 hr drive) together. Think about it. We've got a few years left in us to work it out. // I did add some info to our Bike Florida web page on how far the rides were, but likely that happened just after you looked at it. It ranged from 50-70 miles for daily rides and totaled out at around 250 miles. That's a little tamer than some of the other state rides which can tally up to 500+ miles for a week ride. // This year I was able to keep up with Sandra. She hasn't done as many of those spin classes lately. A couple of years back, it was all I could do to hang on her wheel and shamelessly ride in her draft. For that matter, I still, mostly, ride behind her but now consider it a voluntary act of chivalry in that I'm not doing so because I'm exhausted so much as because I'm hoping to take the first hit from the idiot that plows into us from behind and maybe let her escape harm. Chivalry aside, it is a nice benefit though that she cuts a path through the wind for me. In my defense, I do offer to pull at the front anytime she wants. Usually, she prefers to enjoy the scenery rather than looking at my back.

PJ Friday, 3/31/06, 4:30 PM

Thanks for the invite Cousin, wouldn't that be grand in the middle of the miserable cold! Yes and the key is money, but I am working on trying to make what I have grow so I would be able to do just that. Physically is another problem, with this miserable Fibro that I have, it limits me from doing a lot of things everyone else can do a blink of an eye. But first things first, to have the money, can't do much without that.// I had gone into the site you provided before your trip but I guess I missed the part that said how far you actually rode. That is a long way, "hats off to you both" for being physically fit to be able to do that. By the way very nice photo you took of Sandy in the greenery at some store, nice composition you should frame that. :) P.S. Liked those Harley's too, oooh them sure are pretty!

Well, I made it home for Dad's birthday. had a great time. had a few pictures but not sure to show them. I was also reading a few letters about fibromilasia (sp) I work with many people who have it and were having some great success. If there is a hypnotherapist in your area you should check in with them and see if they can help. Just e-mail me and I would be happy to do what I can.

Hi yall, was just checking out the B S to see whats been happenen. Got an Email from my brother who has somehow stumbled on to our sight. Wanted to know if it was our class mates cause he had read Bob's story about aerosol Jack spraying the interior of Bob's car with stomach contents that left an aroma that you would'nt want lingering around in your car. I happened to remember some fun stories from way back, seems like yesterday. Anyone remember the great food fight from Pattison Park to South Superior? How about the 25mph but slap? Lets hear it . If its about me its probably bull squat. Got to get back to work, Later Dave

Good Morning everyone! Larry here is a web site, https://www.immunesupport.com/ that I get my supplements from and a weekly news letter, it has tips and the latest reasearch news on FMS. Pro Health gives a percentage of sales to Reasearch on FMS and CFS. Check it out I have learned a lot from this site.// Jim thanks for the info, I sent you a message using the address you put in your post and it had come back. I just sent out a short note to try again, can you let me know if you get it?// Bob Marlowe I received your pix yesterday, a job well done I like it, and I can see that Frog spraying water. Did you also lay the brick for your patio as well? Looks very peaceful and relaxing. I will have the pix up today on the site.

Bob Marlowe Tuesday, 4/4/06, 11:32 AM

P.J. Thanks for the positive comments on my waterfall-washtub-pond. Although its not really big, it's quite cute. No I didn't do the brick work on my patio. I had a company called "Klassic Brick" do it. I did design it though. I did'nt want just a square box effect. I sat down with a pencil & paper one night & designed it the way I thought it would give it some demension. Rounded entry ways and a two brick drop going into the six foot planter. Also taped into one of the yard sprinkler zones, and put in a couple of spray heads to take care of the flowers, so I don't have to worry about keeping them watered.

PJ Tuesday, 4/4/06, 12:53 PM

That is a nice design on the brick work, and the pond really is cute. Thanks again for sending the photos and contributing to the site, with your talents, hope that you can view them.

Thanks Larry. But what do you mean "OLD MEAT CUTTER?" I had some problems uploading the pictures on my screen. Found I had to scroll down to bottom of web page & click on to photo gallery & memorial. Even then I had to open link to new window. Anybody know why?

I must add it was a pleasure to go home for my fathers 90th birthday 03/29/06 just wish I would have been able to stay a week or soo and see how many friends I could find and or run into. Just took a stroll though the guest book and was sorry to hear my email address was not working. might be a reason for not getting any emails. I will have to check it out. Try using the captain_james@msn.com email address I know that one works. also if you get a chance look up our webb site at center4hypnosis.com gives a brief outline of our services. AS I noticed that some of U have comented about different sites that support the sale of herbs and vitamins that help with FML. That is good and I always encourage that too. We have a Doctor of homopathic medicine and acupuncture on our staff and he has been wonderful in working as a team player with us using hypnotherpy and hypnomassage to help with MFL. WE both seem to have to have additonal jobs in order to support our jobs of love helping others and like me he is also a pilot and airplane broker and we have been putting a program together where we are trying to have group therpy sessions on one of the islands in the Bahamas where the water is so clear calm and warm with the warm sand. We have a massage therapist, a very famous chief, mental health expert and of course myself. we have done some test runs last year and there have been some great results, but it is still so new and we don't have a large enough number to have a group of testimonials and documentation yet but were working on it.If you are interested try sending me an email again and I will be happy to give you what I have and what I have been doing to help. The bigest problem I have with my work is I get off center sometimes and can't stop talking about it and then I don't get any work done.

Happy Birthday for the site and congrats to PJ for all her success in making it an interesting and enriching experience. // Bob M, nice job on your fountain and I especially liked your design for the brick work around the patio. It's looking good. By the way, remember not everyone lives in a cooler climate, so with our temps out here in the 70's too, it's been like beautiful summer weather back in Wis only with the addition of a big display of pink, white, purple, red, blooming bushes and trees. We're enjoying this now, but will perspire later when the humidty and temperatures rise up.

WOW! You all are so kind with your words, I THANK all of you from the bottom of my heart. My joy comes from your happiness! :) CJ you are so right about this site being our communication tool to all our classmates, how lucky are we to have this technology!! I have said from the start that this site has been a Labor Of Love, and it's so much fun, where else can one put up decorations for the Holidays, and REDECORATE FOR FREE! :)// Frank I love your poem, I will put it up on the home page, it's contributions like this and all the things that all of you have sent me through out the year is what helps keep this site alive.// We have a temp of 58 @ 1:30 pm and it is cloudy, what a joy it was on my walk today, the smell of the pines and the fresh renewed ground is increasing every day, oh how I love Spring!!!!!// Jim I will try again, I have sent mail to both address's by just clicking on what you have posted in here. I don't trust myself in typing it in because I always seem to leave something out, so I am not sure why it's not getting through. I went into your web site and checked it out, very interesting to say the least, I would like to hear more. It's good to see a recent photo of you, if I hadn't spaced out your Dad's birthday and made it there that day, I might not have recognized you. I will try again to mail you, there is one thing you might do and that is to click on my e-mail tab on the home page and if you send me a short message, I could then send a reply, just a thought.// I sure hope we hear from those silent viewers of our site, you don't have to write anything if you can't think of anything to say, just say Hi and your name, we all would so much like to know if there are more of our classmates actually coming into the site. All of us regulars sure would like to hear from you? Hugs to you all, have a super day! Patty Jo Hurin Little :) alias PJ

Good Morning to you all! What a fun day yesterday, thanks again to all of you who stopped by to celebrate our 1st anniversary. Our first monthly meeting was also fun with non stop talking and laughter, with Cheryl, Kathie T., Suie Larson, Linda Egan, and myself. We look forward to next month and hope for more girls to turn out.// Good response on those that have access to/or know of someome who does have, classmates.com, thanks for your input, Kathie also has membership so she said that she would see what she could find out for us. This is good news.// After I got home from town last night, I checked my e-mail "of course", and I found a message from cousin Bob. He had sent me a photo of a beautiful Pink Blossomed Tree that he saw while out on his run, he said he thought of me so he sent it out and I will put it up on the home page to share with all of you. What a nice topper for the end of a very fun day. Thank you cousin for your thoughfulness. This site has brought us, laughter, memories, some edgy stuff, and most important of all, just a real neat bond of companionship, a closness that began with our days in school and has been renewed through this site. We where a special class back so many years ago, and now today, that same special bond remains. How lucky are we to have this bond. The statement that "Friendships Formed In Your High School Days Last Forever", has proved itself without a doubt with our class. THREE CHEERS FOR, GOOD OLD SUPERIOR EAST HIGH SCHOOL, CLASS OF 65. Have a great day everyone. :) PJ

PJ - the significance of the 1 am time: 1:23 04/05/06 = 1 2 3 4 5 6. Last time was in the year 1006 (I think) Next time will be in the year 3006 (I think)

PJ Thursday, 4/6/06, 9:22 AM

Holly Smokes I learned something new, that's really cool too bad we won't be around for the next one. I missed the first 20 min of Lost last night stayed too long at our get together. Boy if I thought I was confused about the this darn show I am completely confused now. What the heck is it real or imagined ???????

PJ Thursday, 4/6/06, 9:33 AM

More of the same subject. You know that 123456 made our 1 year anniversary even more significant doesn't it, but I guess that's what DT was getting at. Ok I think I am on the right page now. YIKES! and I just came in from my walk, that's supposed to clear my head, so much for that. It is gorgeous outside today it's 58 here this morning already, if the cloud cover would leave, so would the rest of the snow banks that our still hanging in there. I am heading back out to take pix of the ice it's just about to go out it's black,YEAH! Talk to you later.

Carla Thursday, 4/6/06, 11:27 AM

for Frank & PJ - I tried the Yahoo Alchemy game (below the Noah's Ark box) because I was getting bored w/it - It's not timed, which I like, but it's a puzzle-type - Frank should really like it!

Frank Thursday, 4/6/06, 3:21 PM

Carla -- STOP IT!!! I can't seem to stop when I start playing those games. I haven't played one since I reached level 150 on the Noah's Ark game and just quit playing it -- I didn't lose the game.

PJ Thursday, 4/6/06, 4:36 PM

These games are way too much fun, I was getting a little bored with Noah's Ark too, I had gone back to Penquin for a little while. I have to limit my time to once a day for only an hour because I have gotten my neck and shoulder aggravated, and now I am going to start golf in a few days. I have given up totally on Davids game that one is way too tense. What a gorgeous day actually raked for just a few minutes though, then on top of everything else I rode my bike about 2 miles. I will probably suffer the results tomorrow. It was just so nice to be outside.//Jim I did get your reply, it's a completely different address from the other two. I will try to write tomorrow, I need to rest for the rest of the day. Yikes!

Carla Thursday, 4/6/06, 4:51 PM

Just give Alchemy a try - you only have to play one game (hee-hee-hee)//Taking a vacation day tomorrow; my daughters & I are headed to Seattle for a 'gilrs' weekend' - I haven't been there before; Jessica has been there many times. We're going to stay downtown & do some shopping, eating & sight-seeing - probably in that order! Maybe we'll get away from the rain if we head that way...at least it will be warmer!! //Everyone have a great weekend!

Len Thursday, 4/6/06, 6:07 PM

I'm a day late, but happy 1st Ann. Nice job PJ keep up the good work, and Hello to everyone out there.

PJ Friday, 4/7/06, 6:16 AM

Thanks Len! I hear your heading south again!

Len Friday, 4/7/06, 7:38 AM

No, I'm heading West, and after taking my (3) mile walk this morning, (30) Degree. Tuesday we're heading West to relieve DT for a couple of wks. While he's back here enjoying the weather, I'll be sitting in his HOT TUB and taking in the (80)+ degree temp.

PJ Friday, 4/7/06, 8:52 AM

Ok heck Len, south or west :) I will have to pay more attention to my directions, all I know is it's warmer where your going. You guys and your Hot Tub, big teaser's. Good to hear your walking have you been doing this long or something new?// DT your going to shoot me, I was in the site builder working on organizing files and fixing a few things and broke the link to the Profile pages. I think I know how to fix it but it may take some real brain work. UGH!!!!!! I am not in a panic just yet!!

Len Friday, 4/7/06, 10:22 AM

Yes PJ I do walk alot especially when I get ready for Bow Hunting. I do around 3 to 5 miles. If I walk to the village, like I've been doing, it's 3 miles. When it gets close to Bow Hunting I start wearing a back pack with weight.

PJ Friday, 4/7/06, 11:10 AM

Way to go Len, I have been walking for so many years now that it's just a part of my every day.

PJ Friday, 4/7/06, 2:30 PM

Profile Pages are working again, it took me most of the day to figure it out, but success at last. I'm learning!!!:) PJ

Jim Van D Friday, 4/7/06, 8:52 PM

HI everyone. PJ what happened to my e-mail? Just got home form work. This tax season seems to be a real drag. I don't understand why I am making a few $$$ & that is a good thing, I think. I don't think I wll be able to make the fun in the sun fly in this year too much work. I usually knock off doint tax work on the 10th of April as I usually start to party on the 11th which is my birthday but this year I think I will just work and skip it. The new look on the web site looks really good sounds like everyone up there in Superior is getting ready for spring OH well better move on time to get a little sleep and be ready for work tomorrow. take care all.

OH yee PJ I think I see why U might have been having a little trouble with my e-mail address as I use an underscore between my captain and my james captain_james or at least I think that is what you were having trouble with. Later JIM

PJ Saturday, 4/8/06, 1:34 PM

Jim thanks for your birth date, is it 1947 or 46? I sent out a reply this morning on the new address. I also see that the site didn't put in the underscore on the msn address, but don't know what is wrong Hypnosis Center address. There must be something missing in that one as well. I just tested putting my e-mail into the Guest Book and sent myself a test and it went through so it isn't the Guest Book creating a problem other than the underscore missing. One simple thing missing makes all the difference, technology is so precise it is amazing.// Cousin Bob has sent me some very beautiful, colorful pix for all to enjoy. It will be a while before we see that much color, one thing we know though is it's on it's way.

PJ Saturday, 4/8/06, 2:56 PM

Jim I have your info up on Profile 2 and got the year of your birth up as well. Thanks. :) PJ

We're back from our fun weekend of power shopping and eating in Seattle...and I'm exhausted!! I haven't been in that many stores in one day ever! We ahd a great time, though, and ate way too much. Also did some of the tourist-y things, too. Weather was not good. Sent some photos to PJ.//PJ - you should set up a photo gallery for recent shots from everyone! (not that you need to spend MORE time working on this site!!)

PJ Tuesday, 4/11/06, 7:23 AM

Good Morning to you all! We had a beautiful 73 degrees here in Solon yesterday. I was outside all day enjoying it, and adding to my already sore body from my 1st golf outing on Sunday. I over did it raking leaves and setting up my two lawn chairs and table. I will take it easy for a few days while I recover, but it is very hard not to be doing something when it's so nice outside, and way too hard to teach this old dog new tricks.:) It looks to be another day in the 70's what a pure joy.:) I also have good news, I am to be Gramma for the 3rd time, my oldest daughter is due in October. WOW, I went from no grandchildren to 3 in within 5 years. Pretty neat experience! Kathie it looks like we will be celebrating new births around the same time, towards the end of October!//CJ, I had thought about opening a new page for recent photos, but a lot of people are unable to get to the other pages for some reason or another, and every one can get to the Home page. I had made room on the Home Page last Saturday for more pix if needed so for now we will just use the Home Page. If we would get more contributing, I would be happy to put another page up for that alone, its not problem to do that. I learned what to do when I lost the link up between the pages on Saturday. I appreciate your suggestion CJ, and if any one else has ideas please feel free to suggest. It is your Web Site classmates and that is what this is all about, so any ideas are apprecitated I will be happy to do what I can to accommodate your ideas.

Carla Tuesday, 4/11/06, 9:17 AM

(groan) Oh, PJ - send some of that gorgeous weather this way! I need to get out into my garden (that's a psychological need I'm talking here). Some people meditate, I garden. <g>//I understand about the pix - do whatever you'd like w/the ones I sent. Not sure there are any No. Exp. fans out there besides you and me...sure miss that show. Glad it's out on DVD - I bought the 1st season a while ago; just have to get the others. By the time it went off the air, Joel (Dr. Fleischmann) was gone & I had lost interest -- but (like everyone else - females anyway) I just LOVED Chris(-in-the-morning)! // Still pretty exhausted from my trip - I did enough shopping to last me a whole year, at least (dropped $120 on 'underwear'at Victoria's Secret alone!)//Congratulations on the new grandchild-to-be!! Can't remember where Tracy is living now - is it close to Kerry? Enjoy your visit this weekend, Grandma!!

PJ Tuesday, 4/11/06, 10:01 AM

CJ, I will be happy to share this nice weather with you, hope you can catch it. Thank you for your permission with the pix. I will put some of them up when I finish here. As I was telling cousin Bob, these photos that everyone is sending is not work for me, this is what I wanted, contributions and it bring interest to the site. I am sure that our classmates are enjoying seeing these photos of the diversity of the areas that everyone lives and visits. The beauty can be shown through photos and hopefully it will bring more into the site.//Tracy lives about 8 miles from Kerry in Cambridge, so she will have help from her, she will need it. I am anxious to see the grand kids it's been about a month again.//Happy Birthday goes out to Jim VanDriessche, have a good one Jim.

Carla Tuesday, 4/11/06, 10:22 AM

Oops! I meant do that and completely forgot - thanks for the reminder, PJ.// Jim, hope you have a very special birthday. Sending lots of good wishes for many, many more!

Welcome Nancy, I have sent a couple of e-mails out to you so you know already how happy I am that we have found you, or you found us I am looking forward to hearing the whole story. I sure hope you stay with us.

PJ Wednesday, 4/12/06, 3:39 PM

I have just put Nancy's address on Profile 2 and her e-mail on the Home Page. It is so great to have you with us Nancy. :) Nancy has sent an Easter Card to all classmates it also is on the home page, Thanks again Nancy. A special "Thanks" to Carla for finding Nancy's name in classmates.com and to Kathie for using her membership with classmates.com to reach out and getting in touch with Nancy. Good work girls 3 cheers for our girls on the job. Well Done!!! Kathie did you have any success with Karen Aho Moller?

Geez -- c'mon guys! You can't let Carla drop the comment she spent $120 on underwear in Victoria's Secret, and not comment!! OK CJ -- I can't imagine what kind of underwear a 58-59 year-old would buy at Victoria's Secret. Care to educate we older gents? Obviously I don't shop, or loiter, in the Victoria's Secret stores. / Given some of your prior messages regarding your lifestyle (remember Len's suggestion causing you to remember Petticoat Junction?), I am intrigued, and try to imagine what kind of person you have become (you do live in northern Idaho afterall, which speaks volumes in itself!).

Larry Strack Thursday, 4/13/06, 7:50 AM

Saw the post...decided not to comment (for a change). Where was Devon? I believe a lovely young woman, of our age, should be able to wear whatever clothing she feels appropriate. Any pics?

FIrst of all, a great big WELCOME to Nancy! So glad you found us (I didn't really "find" you - Classmates.com 'told' me you were found <g>) So you're in Arizona - how long have you been 'out West'? I think someone else is on AZ - is it my ole Itasca buddy Madelon (Brown Scanlon)? I'd have to go look at the address list, & to do that I have to get out of this message, so it will have to wait. We have some fun on this list/in this guestbook. Sometimes gets a little feisty but it's still fun. Sure hope you stick around, Nancy! (now I have to go answer Frank's message!)

Carla Thursday, 4/13/06, 8:57 AM

Hey, Frankie - sounds like you haven't looked at a Victoria's Secret catalog in a while, either - or maybe just the pictures and not the prices...? <g> Anyway, just 'cause I'm a grandma doesn't mean I have to wear grandma underwear! (hee-hee) Truth be told, I've finally realized that this particular brand of underwear is the best fitting I can find, so while I was there, I bought a lot of it. I don't have laundry facilities where I live now - go to my daughter's to do it - so now I can makes less trips to do this particular chore (although, as a grandma, I make plenty of other trips over there!). The truth is always less glamorous than the fantasy. (sigh) As to the person I am now, I could say something like (engaging a dreamy, New-Age-type voice) I'm becoming the person I truly am...how's that does that particular piece of bull kakka (sp?) grab you? <g> (wonder if PJ's already heaing to Cambridge? She'll be sorry she missed this particular thread.) // Bob M. - send some of the beautiful weather up this way - it's been raining so much, I have moss instead of grass on my lawn! We haven't even hit 65 yet this spring!! And more rain predicted for the weekend... dang!!

PJ Thursday, 4/13/06, 9:11 AM

CJ, it is Madelene she is Mesa as well, I told Nancy about it to. I'm still home not leaving till tomorrow morning, slight change of plans. I played Alchemy and it is a nice diversion from Noah, tried Diamond Mine as well, there isn't a clock on that one either. Just have to learn to discipline myself and not play for long periods of time. Golfed with the brother's yesterday, the temp was 75 degrees what a gorgeous couple of days we have been having. My body is protesting golfing on Sunday, raking on Monday and overdoing it, then I can't say no to golfing yesterday, and I am paying the price today. Dang I sure hate this Fibro, my mind is ready and rarin to go but the body just doesn't keep up, then one has to add in the normal aging process into the mix and I'm down for the count today. You would think I would learn, DAH! Oh Well I have lived with this for 16 years it ain't nothing new and I will recover.

PJ Thursday, 4/13/06, 9:23 AM

CJ, I whole heartedly agree with your comments on Victoria Secret's undies and at our age why the heck not! I agree, at this stage of the game that I sure do like doing exactly what makes me happy, and VS is one of them. Age is only a # most of the time [sigh], I do my shopping on line right from home, it's the greatest. Oh I am so glad that I am not on my way to Cambridge for this one! :)

Carla Thursday, 4/13/06, 10:36 AM

For those of you who are interested, it looks like there's a boat on the horizon coming to the Duluth Entry on the web cam - you can get there from the home page.

Carla, Again! Thursday, 4/13/06, 10:38 AM

I think it should be the Kwintebank, a Dutch freighter coming to pick up a load of grain.

  Thursday, 4/13/06, 10:47 AM

well, it looks like it's anchored. But there's a tug on it's way out also...

Devon Thursday, 4/13/06, 10:58 AM

Larry's idea of the pics sounds good to me!!! You know PJ and CJ, you are both are ready just in case someone comes along that wants to molest you if your willing to let them. // Hows this comment Larry???

PJ Thursday, 4/13/06, 11:04 AM

I understand that when it is a foreign vessel, the captain is not allowed to bring the vessel in or out of port. The tug boat brings the captain inland, and one our captain from our port is taken out to the ship so he can bring it into port, and then vicea versa. I watched them do this while waiting for a doc appt at the clinic and this was what I was explained from a seasoned seaman that happened to be at the clinic the same time I was and he explained it to me. Was very interesting to say the least.

CJ Thursday, 4/13/06, 11:18 AM

THat must be what's happening - the tug came back in & now it looks like it's headed for the entry - how cool! I saw once leave yesterday afternoon. Nothing like actually being there, but still very, very cool.

PJ Thursday, 4/13/06, 11:30 AM

My brother Dick and I have this cam up all the time, we will often send each other an e-mail saying "incoming", or "outgoing". Then we can bring it up to screen. Sometimes it's hard to time it even when I know when they are arriving or departing. I get busy around the apartment and forget. So thanks for the heads up CJ! Dick and I stumbled onto the web cam because it was the web cam view that we had on our WEATHER BUG program. Weather Bug don't use the Marine cam any more because they got into a p.... match over some technical stuff with Marine. So now we have this boring web cam from a school parking lot in Balsam Lake, near Fredrick WI. We missed our Harbor cam and we searched till we found it, and we have been smiling ever since.

I apologize about the pics. It must have been some of Devon's remaining influence on me.;-)

Carla Thursday, 4/13/06, 2:19 PM

GOsh, Larry - no apologies necessary - I assumed you were joking. <g> Now, on the other hand, if it had been Devon that made said it... Just kidding, Devon!!

Gads! mid-afternoon brain-freeze. I meant to say "If Devon had said it"....sheesh! If I'm going to smart off, I guess I'll have to be careful to spell correctly!

PJ Thursday, 4/13/06, 2:37 PM

Got busy working on my painting and forgot to refer to Devon's comment and my announcer hasn't told me anyone has been in the Guest Book. You see I have this little announcer that lets me know when someone has written in the Guest Book, all of a sudden my little guy starts annoncing messages's. Well now lets see, what do you think CJ? I think we should keep Devon guessing as to whether his thoughts are accuarate or not????? He sounded like he was pretty sure!!!

Seems like it's going to be quiet here this weekend with PJ out-of-town... I get to leave early, too. Hope everyone has a good weekend, how ever you're going to spend it. The dreaded S word is in the forecast here for Sunday, with temps only in the 40s - where, oh where, is Spring?!?!

Been a while, had to read everything to catch up! Glad to hear from Nancy, and thanks for the Easter greeting! And Patti...how exciting number three...I feel blessed to have one on the way, Maybe this will be a start! happy birthday, Jim...and many more. Now for the "undies" thing! I see no reason that we "hotties" should be confined to clothing that dates us, including what goes on under, one is only as, dare I say "se.." as on feels while looking their best! I think it keeps us feeling fifteen years younger! (even though the agony of arthritis and hot flashes bring us back to reality). I'm even in a water arobic class for people with arthritis...ugh, that makes me old, right? Hey, we broke 83 yesterday..but rain on the way..CJ, I'm envious of your Seattle journey! That's my home state and I have missed it for the last48 years. Love the mountains, hope you got a great view of Rainier and Mt Baker! A blessed Easter to all, enjoy family and friends!

Bob Beetcher Saturday, 4/15/06, 7:12 AM

Sandra and I wish everyone a great Easter weekend. I'm using much of it to try to finish up the granite tiling job in the kitchen that's been slowly moving forward. We are having ham and scalloped potatoes for Easter dinner. So, that will be something to look forward to and will be another excuse to set aside the tiling job. // Frank, maybe if you ask nice, Carla will put up a web cam out there so she can show off some of that V.S. stuff. That ought to get you off those computer games for awhile. Maybe PJ could even put a link to it up on the EHS site right next to the harbor cam. It would likely boost the site hits a bit too.

Bob Beetcher Tuesday, 4/18/06, 8:20 PM

Larry, how's that home improvement work coming. I've been meaning to complement you on your bravado in ripping out that wall. I used to have that kind of confidence in myself, but now I'm afraid I'll get the job started, then tire and get used to the half finished project and leave it sit in a partially completed state for months on end. I'm just finishing a kitchen tiling job that should have taken a couple of weeks and instead took months.

PJ Wednesday, 4/19/06, 7:17 AM

Good Morning to all! I got home Sunday afternoon and collapsed in my comfy chair, turned on TV to watch and learn how to play golf the right way from the pros, and fell asleep and missed 90% of the afternoon, and valuable golf tips. :( Every one was sick, but we still had a good time playing kick the ball, walking in the woods, coloring eggs, and a full Turkey dinner to top it off. Kerry even got a chance to ride one of her horse's (which she doesn't get to do much these days) while Gramma kept on eye on the little ones. I don't know how these kids can hold down a full time job and have two children under the age of 4. I get exhausted just writing about it. I am on the mend though from my two day trip, but it seems that I am getting the scratchy throat, and stuffed up nose that every one else had, oh joy! I do hope you all had a great Easter as well.// Happy Birthday goes out to Frank today, hope you have a great day Frank.

Larry Strack Wednesday, 4/19/06, 10:36 AM

Bob, I'd forgotten I'd posted about my "little project". YES, it is completed and "on time" for Easter. All we did was remove a wall between the kitchen and dining room, added laminate flooring in the kitchen and dining room, and carpet in the rest of the house. Before we took out the flooring we painted all the walls and now we've changed out all the "window treatments" The fact that I know what a window treatment is just scares me. Tearing out the wall wasn't too bad but figuring out how to re- run the electrical took some head scratching. In short, it looks great and Carol is very happy with it. The whole goal was to open the dining area so we could have all the kids and grandkids at the dining table. Goal accomplished. Wish I'd have thought to do a before and after picture.

Kathie Wednesday, 4/19/06, 10:57 AM

Wow...Larry, you are a fast worker...Our tile job was over a month, but it was difficult cutting tile outside when the weather was 15 degrees. I still think of all the dust floating around the house, what a mess, but the bright new look is worth it. And Bob, I would imagine you both are enjoying the new look in your home! We did yard work Monday, hope not too soon, as we could still havae cool weather. I think I have my flower shopping list made out and it may be new siding year here. I've also decided to join the "healthy" living set! Joined the "Y" and am slowly "crawling" back into shape! These muscles have not been this sore for years! Even shot baskets with JT this morning...boy, talk about rusty...remember GAA basketball at 6:30 in the morning? That is when girls could only dribble three times then had to pass it off and only one player, designated "rover" could carry the ball over the center court line. The girls have certainly come along way!! Anyone else think of silly memories? Remember the old smelly locker rooms? Or the Oriental Room, okay , then the FHA cake sales to the teachers? And why was the drafting class only open to the guys?

Carla Wednesday, 4/19/06, 12:07 PM

Just popping in to wish Frank a very, very Happy Birthday!! Enjoy the day!!

Frank Wednesday, 4/19/06, 2:50 PM

Thank's for the birthday wishes. I've been working full-time for SUPERVALU for over a month now, and it's starting to wear on me. They even had a conference call scheduled for 7:00 p.m. tonight. I made my case that it was my birthday and after champagne and hors'douvers (sp?), then steak, salad and some wine, I wasn't going to log into the call. They graciously rescheduled to 8:00 a.m. tomorrow. Actually, I probably would have called in; I'm not the kind who could skip it.

Bob Beetcher Wednesday, 4/19/06, 7:14 PM

Hope you had a great day Frank, although it sounds like you're working too hard. Larry, I'm real impressed. It sounds like you still have the "killer instinct" and stayed on that project through to the finish. It may have helped to have an Easter deadline. But, even with a dead line, once I get tuckered out, I often just sit down and say "shoot me here!" It takes longer and longer to get these projects done when you only work on them when you feel like it.

Larry Strack Thursday, 4/20/06, 9:46 AM

Bob, I had incentive...chores done? Go play.

Len Thursday, 4/20/06, 10:13 AM

From sunny California. Went for my morning walk today, my wife wont go with me. (1) because it's to early 6:30am and (2) I walk to fast. This I inherited from my mother when I was in grade school, as she would help me peddle papers every Sunday morning. I would take 3 steps to her 1. Well anyway back to my walk. I was about 10 minutes into it when I met this Lady (about our age) going the opposite direction. About 5 minutes later I look behind me and her she comes. Well she's about a block behind and I say to myself, I can walk faster then her. Wrrrrong, 2 minutes later she pass me up. I'm like a big wheel, I take longer steps and cover more ground. She was like a small wheel taking shorter steps. I'm doing 3 miles an hour, she's doing 6, I'm carrying a bottle of water, she's not. Who do you think is in better shape? I did pass up another Lady tho. Good thing she had a walker and stopped for a break. One thing I do enjoy seeing on my walks, are these Ooooolder people with there little white dogs. I know it's great exercise for them, but who's really in charge. I don't see the dog carrying the sh-t bag.

PJ Thursday, 4/20/06, 11:56 AM

Hey Len that's pretty funny. I bet I could keep up with you, the neighbor guy clocked me with his car and he said I do 4 miles an hour. He was right! How's the Hot Tub Len?

DT Thursday, 4/20/06, 5:57 PM

Great story, Len. Just read your E to Bon. LOL. Have you seen to gal on the golf cart with her dog running along side her? I offered to take our cart when her battery ran out! Also, Cyn could use the golf cart to be with you, it does go 15 mph. Did think about heading out about 6:30, walking to the gym, working out, then the walk back. But, didn't think I wouldn't make 4:00 cocktail hour. 30 years ago, no problem!! Next going to a real bike. Bob B. eat your heart out!

DT Thursday, 4/20/06, 6:29 PM

Kathie, had 4 years drafting on 3rd floor. Ever look up and wonder what those holes in the ceilings were? Bad Boys, na, just looken!

Len, loved that story. Nothing like being confronted with brutal reality to dispell your illusions. It reminded me of a similar personal story of mine about being passed by a stocky woman in Duluth on Superior street in the last couple of miles of a Grandma's marathon I ran way back in the 80's. I'd had passed her at the start of the run and sort of snickered to myself that "she'd be lucky to finish." When I saw her passing me at the end, I just looked away, in my exhaustion, gave up and suffered the humility without putting up a fight. // DT, when you're ready to do a cross state ride on that bike (I read that bicycle), let me know and we'll hook up for some real fun.

Len Thursday, 4/20/06, 11:34 PM

Glad you all had a lot of LOL at my expense. Never fear I will not give up, tomorrows another day. Maybe I can get up to 3 1/2 mph. Still not enough to keep up with you PJ, course I could always trip you into a bush. PJ you asked about the HOT TUB and a idea clicked in my brain (now I'm starting to think like DT) how about at the next reunion we get a bunch of HOT TUBS and have Reunion Tub Party. It could be very therapeutic for us that are growing old. // No DT I haven't seen the Lady in the cart yet, maybe it's to early for her, but will keep an EYE open for her. She might need assistance with those batteries.// Bob, when you and DT do that bike ride I'll bring up the rear in my Vet with the refreshments.

It's good to have someone out faster than you...everyone needs a challenge. :-) My bags are packed and I'm leaving for McClean IL in an hour for 2 wonderful days of pump paintball. The other 2 guys traveling with me are my kids age. I just can't find anyone our age that enjoys a good hearty day of paintball. We'll be joining another 200 or so avid players for paintball and party for the weekend. Last year there was only one player older than me...my goal is to be the oldest active player. Wish me luck.

Len Friday, 4/21/06, 8:06 AM

Good luck Larry, just remember don't get bogged down to long. CHARGE! Have a good trip, will be watching for you on ESPN.//PJ, I shaved 15 minutes off my 4 mile walk this morning, just a little over 3 1/2 mph. Will be at 4 tomorrow, then I can keep up with you.

PJ Friday, 4/21/06, 8:47 AM

Good luck Larry be careful out there.// Way to go on the increase Len! A Hot Tub Class Reunion, that's an interesting idea, we might make the news on that one. I can see the news headline, THE BABY BOOMERS ARE AT IT AGAIN, 45TH CLASS REUNION HELD IN A HOT TUB!!:)//DT I can't wait to see you riding a bike.

PJ Friday, 4/21/06, 9:22 AM

Oh shoot forgot, no fair tripping Len!! :)//Cousin Bob would you do me a favor and update the Reverse Log, I keep forgetting to ask you, Thank You in advance. By the way like your humility story.// Now there was something else I wanted to comment on and forgot what it was, I wish all my walking helped my memory. Oh I know what it was,it was about Kathie's reminiscing about the smell's from our school days. I remember not liking basketball, I was too short, but I remember liking Archery. Do not have fond memories of the locker room, plain and simple YUK! I do remember the good smells coming from all those goodies you girls used to make, I never took that class cause I thought it was a waste of time. I had learned how to cook for my Dad and brothers, while my mom was in the hospital, which was a lot it seemed. Gramma Beetcher taught me how to sew and knit, Mom, Gram and I did a lot of crafty stuff. I would have like to take the shop class and learn how to make stuff with wood, I liked the smell of wood coming from that room. Can't wait to hear what Kathie has to say about the "holes in the ceiling"????? There is more to this story I am quite sure of that. :)

Kathie Friday, 4/21/06, 10:02 AM

Okay, Dale..I give up! What exactly caused the "holes" in the ceiling. And who was your instuctor? Yes, i did enjoy the home ec area...and still practice some of what was preached to us by Mrs. Le Claire. I've even shared a few "lessons" with some friends just starting to sew or getting a little handier in the kitchen. I also have taken a couple of classes in furniture refinishing and upholstering at our local vocational school, would love to see Frank's "craft corner". I think I missed my calling....too bad some of the shop classes weren't offered to the gals and home ec to the guys. What say you, fellas? Or do we have some accomplished chefs in our midst! Carla, I'm getting copies of those Croation papers made today...I'll get them out to you soon! Everyone, enjoy the weekend! Time to go to the fabrice and pattern grave yard! (my basement)...

Larry Strack Monday, 4/24/06, 9:49 AM

Thanks for the good luck wishes. Since this was a play/social event, not much team competition was really done. We split 160 players (from CA, WA to FL, NY and points in between)into two teams and started shooting each other. We played/socialized from 7 AM till 7 PM Sat nite...partied/slept and started again on Sun. I managed to win a door prize, which almost never happens. Probably that good luck. I was still the second oldest player at the event, didn't hurt anything vital and am back to work on Monday.

PJ Monday, 4/24/06, 10:40 AM

Hey Larry, glad to hear your back in one piece. I on the other hand am still not doing too well. I managed to rid myself of this virus, but it came back on me last night, UGH! I talked to my daughter this morning and she said she thought she was on the mend and then it came back on her too, so I guess it's another week of Echineacea and taking it easy. I did make myself walk, even thou I wanted to say the heck with it. It sure isn't very warm today, only 43 so far and it's already 12:30, I had to wear my mittens today. Geez Louise, 75 yesterday what a switch. Anyone try the geography game yet that Nancy sent, I am getting a little faster at it?

Carla Monday, 4/24/06, 2:24 PM

Bob M. -- you're probably too busy to check in here today, but please let Carol know we're all thinking about her & her surgery tomorrow. Let us know as soon as you can how she's doing... Take care.

PJ Monday, 4/24/06, 4:11 PM

Thanks CJ, you jarred my brain. When I put up the geography game that Nancy sent I was going to put up your Violets, and send a message to Bob and spaced both, not one of my better days. Bob M. CJ said it best and I reinforce her words!

Len Monday, 4/24/06, 11:01 PM

Bob M., give Carol thumbs up from me. Take care and hope everything goes all right.

Bob Marlowe Tuesday, 4/25/06, 2:42 AM

Hi everyone, thanks for the well wishes. Carol & I are up and at em already. I have to have her at the hospital at 5:45. Dr. said its about a five hour surgery. Will give ya a update later today.

Devon Tuesday, 4/25/06, 11:05 AM

Our Prayer's are with you and your family. May God be with you and Carol. Devon

Bob Marlowe Tuesday, 4/25/06, 6:18 PM

Well, I'm home. Carol's surgery went well. Dr. said he was extremely pleased. She is in a awful lot of pain though. Surgery took about five hours, and then two hrs. in recovery room. When they brought her down to her room she was in tears she hurt so bad. Dr. showed me before and after xrays, and what a difference. I told her on the way to the hospital that "Ya know honey, I could probably fix ya, all the thousand and thousands of surgerys I peformed over the last 36 years. She just looked at me and said "ya Bob, but all your paitents are dead. (GOOD POINT) Once again thanks for all your well wishes.

PJ Tuesday, 4/25/06, 6:45 PM

That's great news Bob, I hope she has a good night and that her recouperation goes well and quickly. It's a good thing Carol has a sense of humor and didn't punch you!:) Have a good night too Bob, and keep us posted on her recovery.

Larry Strack Wednesday, 4/26/06, 3:26 AM

Great news Bob! Hope the recovery is quick.

Devon Wednesday, 4/26/06, 5:46 AM

Great news Bob, Hope she has a very speedy recovery//PACKER NEWS....BRET FARVE IS COMING BACK FOR ANOTHER SEASON.

Carla in Coeur d'Alene Wednesday, 4/26/06, 8:10 AM

Wonderful to hear, Bob - give Carol our best wishes for a speedy recovery. Don't think I've ever met her, but I really like her sense of humor! Hope I get the chance someday soon.// Yeah, Devon, I cheered out loud (& scared the cats) when I read that in this mornings paper. Yippee-skippee!! (For a 'true' Packer fan, it's NEVER off-season!)

Bob Marlowe Wednesday, 4/26/06, 3:21 PM

Well just returned from hospital. Carol is still in extreme pain. Changing her medication this afternoon. Dr. says the pain is from him having to move so many nerves during surgery, but will get better in time. She said she could'nt sleep at all last night, it hurt so bad.

Kathie Wednesday, 4/26/06, 6:53 PM

Bob, am sending best wishes for Carol...and the pain will soon be a memory as the back heals. My wish is for a speedy recovery! Boy, the gym is a toughy and I'm so out of shape. Its good to know we have one member of this class still able to keep up with the youngsters, way to go Larry! And Len, the walking stories are great. John and I were walking in the Neatherlands, while visiting our daughter in Neimagen, and actually passsed a nun who was riding a bicycle! She was very old and just peddling so slowly. I don't understand how she could stay upright! We still laugh about it! Warm weather, well fairly warm, but man could use some rain!! Love the violets, Carla...

Bob Beetcher Wednesday, 4/26/06, 6:57 PM

Glad to hear Carol's surgery went well. Best wishes for the recovery. I'm guessing it will take quite awhile to get back anywhere close to normal. From my experience with a relatively simple dislocated shoulder taking more than a year to settle down, I would suggest you expect it to take a long time for everything to recover. // PJ, the reverse log is up to date. Sorry it took awhile to get to it, but it's always a struggle to find the time to apply to it.

PJ Wednesday, 4/26/06, 7:21 PM

That's great cousin Bob thank you. I am very grateful for your help, at whatever time frame that is best for you, that works for me. A big Hug for you! :)

Larry Strack Thursday, 4/27/06, 5:18 PM

I'm packing my bags again for a 3-day paintball event in Morristown, MN. It sure is great to have a wife that understands I have not yet reached full maturity and allows me to play with the kids. Really love that woman.

Devon Friday, 4/28/06, 6:28 AM

Larry....after growing up with you, I seem to have a problem with maturity also. Maybe it was the water, or the liquid we "acquired" in Sue Lee's field??? You know, the stuff that we consumed a cap full at a time. Then ate onions! OR could it just be your Naval personality??? Yes, you have a great lady for your wonderful wife.

Larry Strack Friday, 4/28/06, 7:25 AM

Devon, I've always blamed it on your influence...maybe, just maybe, it is the water. Na! It's more fun not to grow up too much.

Bob Beetcher Friday, 4/28/06, 9:17 AM

Len M, there was something you said awhile back that piqued my interest and I finally remembered to ask you about it. You were talking about walking to get ready for bow season and, when the season was close, you started walking with a weighted back pack. I was curious about what kind of bow hunt you are going on. When I used to bow hunt out by Gordon, a way back when, all we took out was our bow. You'd only need a back pack to carry along a case of beer or large lunch.

Dave B Sunday, 4/30/06, 7:55 AM

Hi to all from beautifull Helena Montana. Been out here a week and today I hope to get out and get in some sight seeing. Had training last week and setups afterward, got in a bit over 30 hours overtime last week and probably will put in 5 more hours today. Was told about a ghost town about 20 miles up in the mountains that is vacant except one building has a resturant that has really good grub. HAVE to check this place out ! I'll try to get some pictures that are good enough to submit. Strange to be down in this valley with 70 degree weather, flowers coming out and look up into the foothills and mountains that are still covered with snow. It snowed about 5 inches the day before I got here. Anyhow , enough babble from me for now,got to finnish off my projects for today and get out and have some fun! Later, Dave

PJ Sunday, 4/30/06, 8:15 AM

Hey cousin, look forward to seeing some photos and I am sure they will be good enough for all to see. Have fun!! :)

Larry Strack Sunday, 4/30/06, 3:54 PM

Well, I'm back from a glorious 3 day paintball trip. It rained ALL weekend but didn't seem to hamper any of the 50 or so players. Most of us camped in tents and played in the rain no matter what. Can we say soggy? I had a great time but am glad to be home to a warm house, shower, dry clothes and a shower. Pics will come as soon as I can figure out where my camera is.

Bob Marlowe Monday, 5/1/06, 6:50 AM

Well, Carol is out of the hospital, and doing as well as can be exspected. She is now a half inch taller. She says her back does'nt hurt at all.It is her leg that is giving her some grief. Dr. said he had to move the Siatic nerve during surgery, and it's letting her know it didn't appreciate it. They do have her on some kind of medication that is supposed to go right to the nerve. She had quite a restless night Sat. but actually slept quite well last night. She is walking good and is able to up & down the steps quite nicely. (Which is a good thing, because this is a four level house, with lots of steps.) She used to ask me, how we were going to be able to get up & down these steps when we get old. I would just look at her and say,"when that day comes, just shoot me". Ha-Ha! Will give ya updates on her progress.

PJ Monday, 5/1/06, 7:33 AM

Bob M. that is really good news, it sounds like this Doctor did the trick for Carol. It is good to know about success's in the medical world, it does give hope to those that may have to face something like this in the future. I put the Helicopter game up on the site, I couldn't resist. I remember trying to master this game a couple of years ago when DT sent it to me, but as usual I can only play for a little while and have to quit because I tense up my shoulder too much. I did remember some of the little tricks I had learned, it is a good boredom breaker.// Boy I sure will be glad when this weather system moves on out of here, yuk 3 days of no sunshine, does not make for a happy person here.// It's a new month and lunch date is here already, we will be meeting same time, 5:30 PM @ the Breakwater, Wednesday May 3rd. Sorry for being so repeatitive but we would like to see more girls there this time, so I am sending reminder's out via e-mail only and word of mouth, for our "silent readers", we will see you Wednesday. Sue Padgett, I keep getting returned mail, have you changed your e- mail address? Would you send me your address in a e- mail so I can double check my address book to see what the problem is.Thanks Sue! :) PJ

Larry Strack Monday, 5/1/06, 10:12 AM

Bob, Glad to hear the positive news. No matter how good surgery goes the body gets the last word. Hopefully the pain in her legs stops soon.

PJ Monday, 5/1/06, 12:36 PM

Hey Frank and CJ, have you played the HELECOPTER GAME yet? I am so bad at this thing I can't get past 874 miles, and I need to quit for awhile. Anyone else playing it, how about you Bob M you sent it to me, how many miles can you go before crashing?

Frank Monday, 5/1/06, 2:41 PM

I quit playing games. I was spending too much time on it. Well -- actually I still play spider solitaire almost every day. Still consulting full- time for SUPERVALU. Hopefully it will ebb soon (although the extra money is nice). / Dave B. what is it you do?

PJ Monday, 5/1/06, 4:06 PM

Ah Geez Frank we where having so much fun! I set a timer for 30 min. and if my shoulder is ok then I set it for another 30 min. after the second 30 min is up I walk away and do something productive. Discipline, I have no choice it's either that or I suffer and I don't like that, I like having fun. What was written in the year book with our grad pix so many years ago sure is an accurate description of me. Does anyone know who wrote those? "Laughing gigling all the day, oh how Patty loves to play". That hasn't changed one bit, who ever wrote those sure had me pegged right.

Kathie Monday, 5/1/06, 7:59 PM

Bob, so happy to hear that Carol is doing well...please relay the message! And Dave...I love the area you're visiting...Take time to see what that western part of the state has to offer...the east is as flat as North Dakota! I really had fun with the game Nancy sent in...I got all the states in with only a 20 mile error! Now just wish I could visit all of them! Won't be making the trip to lunch this month...maybe next month as my plate is full. Have some window coverings to make for Aimee's house, a couple of meetings and must be good and keep working out! 55 minits of deep water aerobics tonight. Hey, the spelling is giving out on me, must be too tired...seeya

Kathie Monday, 5/1/06, 8:00 PM

OOPPPS...told you I was tired :)!

PJ Tuesday, 5/2/06, 6:49 AM

Kathie, sorry to hear you won't make our lunch maybe next month. My niece just had a baby girl on Sunday so it looks like I will be getting my sewing machine's out as well, got lots of girl patterns in my stash. If my parents were still alive they would have 5 great grand daughters, and one great great grand daughter. All girls we are wondering if Tracy's baby will break the girl cycle we seem to be on in our family. Although, she would like a girl because Kerry will have lots of clothes to pass down to her./ I will go in and delete one of your postings they both appear to be the same so I am guessing it won't matter which one. Happy sewing Kathie! :) PJ

PJ Tuesday, 5/2/06, 6:54 AM

Forgot CJ, did you see what I found in all my paper work, I was determined to find it and I did? :)

Bob Marlowe Tuesday, 5/2/06, 7:13 AM

Hi everybody, first off Carol would like to thank everybody for their kind thoughts, and a special thanks to P.J. for sending her a get well card on behalf of the "class of 65." That was very thoughtfull, and both Carol & I want you all to know we appreciate it very much. She is scooting around the house pretty good, but of course still has some pain. P.J, the highest I've gotten on the Hellicopter game so far is 1,186. You think you,re doing pretty good, and then you srew up. DAMN!!

PJ Tuesday, 5/2/06, 5:19 PM

Your very welcome Bob and Carol! It is a frustrating game indeed, I have been so busy the last couple of days that I haven't had a chance to play, and it looks like golf tomorrow if the weather permits. I will have to try again after I finish in here. Take good care of Carol, as I know that you are. :)

Bob Marlowe Wednesday, 5/3/06, 7:14 AM

Ok P.J. I just hit 1,609 on the hellicopter game. It gets going faster and faster, and the flight pattern gets narrower, and more difficult to manuever.

PJ Wednesday, 5/3/06, 7:47 AM

Bob M, way to go! The more I play the darn game the worse I am getting, good grief!!!!!!!

Bob Marlowe Thursday, 5/4/06, 5:53 AM

P.J. First game out this a.m. 1,861

PJ Thursday, 5/4/06, 7:23 AM

I don't think I will ever catch you at the rate your going Bob M, but I will keep trying a little every day.// Our dinner out last night was fun, and we welcomed Donna Eisemann Burger to the group, it was great to talk to her, never got a chance at the reunion. Donna will be joining us next month as well Welcome, Welcome, Welcome Donna, you are a great addition to the group. Also attending, Linda Peterson, Cheryl, Linda Egan and myself. Margaret, Sue Larson, Sue Padgett, Irene were unable to attend. Hopefully next month girls.// We had a short shut down with the site yesterday, but Thanks to DT's quick reponse to the problem we are back on track. Thanks Buddy! That makes me a very HAPPY CAMPER today. :) PJ

PJ Thursday, 5/4/06, 4:20 PM

Hi everyone check out the new site Nancy sent me, it's really interesting. It described me in a nut shell I was impressed. Thanks for the fun site Nancy, you and Carla sure do come up with really neat stuff, your contributions to the site are invaluable, as all of you are, who send me stuff.// Bob M. I managed to get to 917 today, you must have a trick up your sleeve, or I am extremely uncoordinated, which I will go with the latter part of my statement. :(

Bob Marlowe Friday, 5/5/06, 7:23 AM

I find that if you look to the right of the screen,it gives you a couple of seconds to react to the new obstical. I keep my right eye to the right and the left eye on copter. Or it could be that you are extremely uncordinated. (HA-HA)

Bob Marlowe Friday, 5/5/06, 7:44 AM

P.J. Fifth time out, 1,938

PJ Friday, 5/5/06, 7:52 AM

Now I think your pulling my leg, :) but then again I know I am uncoordinated when it comes to these games. That's ok though, for an old lady with a disibility I can hit a golf ball pretty good, out of sheer determination. :)

Bob Marlowe Friday, 5/5/06, 3:12 PM

P.J. I'm not pulling your leg, I really got it. Hope to get 2000 plus soon.

Len Friday, 5/5/06, 9:22 PM

Hi Bob B., Haven't looked at the site for awhile, you asked me about the back pack on the 28th. When I start weighing it down it's because I'm getting ready to head out West. The mountains usually tear me up. Not going any place this year, but next year at this time if all is well my wife and I are heading for New Zealand, Red Stag hunting. She will be a non-hunter. We plan on making a good trip out of it. 2-weeks New Zealand, 1 or 2-weeks Austraila, and 2-weeks Hawaii. New Zealand is twenty some hours by air, so we plan to break it up. Hope to see you this summer.// Bob M & Carol, glad everything is going good, you'll be chasing Bob with the broom before you know it.

PJ Monday, 5/8/06, 10:16 AM

Hi to you all, if there is anyone out there, sure is quiet???? I actually was able to get some pix taken yesterday, finally some sunny weather and the buds are trying to bloom on the apple trees. We got spoiled in April it was so warm, but this first week of May hasn't been too warm. The golf courses are greening up nicely, especially Forest Point, one of the prettiest course's in the area in my opinion. We where there Saturday and it was so green and lush it was like playing on velvet. Just love that course. Hope you all have a good week.

Devon Monday, 5/8/06, 3:08 PM

Hi PJ; Went flying through Solon on Sunday morning headed home. Visited Mom because can't make it up next weekend. Thought about stopping, but have no idea how to get in touch, except throught the site. Maybe we can go golfing one day this summer when I have a little more time. Sunday was a beautiful day. Devon

PJ Monday, 5/8/06, 3:29 PM

Hi Devon, yes it was a beautiful day Sunday. The best way to get a hold of me is my cell, # is up on Profile I. If your in town give me a call and I will go golfing with you, Hidden Greens is just 5 miles from me.

Bob Beetcher Monday, 5/8/06, 6:37 PM

Len, thanks for the insights on your hunting. Hunting out west in the mountains, ..., now I understand why you trained hard. Boy, that New Zealand hunting trip sounds like something special. Hope that works out OK. If it does, I'll look forward to a trip report. // PJ, we're having some of that Wis weather out here in NC; 50's and rain for a couple of days. It feels like winter.

PJ Tuesday, 5/9/06, 7:04 AM

A very Happy Birthday goes out to Carla today, may the day bring sunshine and hope, big Hugs to you CJ.//Yikes cousin, that does sounds like a big chill for you. We are sitting in the middle of 3 lows all around us, so nothing but clouds and rain showers, but the temp is 60 and should hit 65 today. How many times does that happen when we are warmer than NC???

Larry Strack Tuesday, 5/9/06, 9:37 AM

Len, if I remember correctly New Zealand mountains are pretty rugged. Good luck to ya. Devon, I read you're post and thought I was going to have to watch the skies but after re-reading I realized your meaning. (driving not flying a plane) What a relief! The weather is just perfect for my sport. :-) Maybe next time I'm in Superior I'll bring my clubs and we can golf a round PJ.

PJ Tuesday, 5/9/06, 10:37 AM

I did the same thing Larry I thought he was in an airplane too, too funny. Your on Larry, you and Devon should coordinate your visit to Superior and the 3 of us could go, that would be a blast.

Frank Tuesday, 5/9/06, 2:20 PM

And a vewry HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Carla! In just six months (age 59 1/2) you can start withdrawing money from your personal retirement accounts without penalty for early withdrawal -- something to look forward to. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not this old!

PJ Tuesday, 5/9/06, 3:48 PM

AH Frankie, heck we just got out of high school didn't we????? Just think of the big birthday party coming up at 60, you can get a whole bunch of 60's music and pretend we are still kids. I am not liking the sound of 60 at all, it really doesn't seem real does it.// Len, & DT, we should plan a 60th party for the 3 of us, that will be coming up in a few months. Len your the first one to turn in August (that I know of) then it's me in November and 5 days later DT, I think that deserves a get together, and I will even have 1 drink to toast with you guys. What say you?

Larry Strack Tuesday, 5/9/06, 5:58 PM

Devon, were we in the same class? How cme everyone is so much older than us. ;-)

Len Tuesday, 5/9/06, 6:36 PM

PJ, I don't know about you and DT, but I've been holding at 39 for twenty years. I figure I still have another 20 GOOD years-Hope-Hope-Hope. Was wading through the back streams Saturday Brook Trout fishing. It was my first in 5 years, sure missed it. Got my limit in know time, but still fished all day, nothing under 12 inches. Boy I'm out of shape.

Kathie Wednesday, 5/10/06, 6:38 AM

Wait a minute.....How come all you guys are turning 60? I don't have that privilage until next year! And none of us are getting "older" just more "mature"? or is that a fallice too! It's only when I do "stupid" (too many cocktails, or too much yard work etc.) that I feel old in the Pain sort of way! Although a two adn a half mile walk yesterday made me realize that a month at the Y has payed off somewhat; I'd never have been able to do that a month ago! I'll be spending two weeks in Barrington, Il the end of the month; no, no real baby, just assisting with dogs and house stuff! Hope to keep in touch through the web site and also to visit with Len and Merdy in Mc Henry!

PJ Wednesday, 5/10/06, 8:00 AM

Kathie, the answer to your question is this. Back 55 years ago some parents decided that their children where too young to start school so they waited another year, before starting them off in the world of learning. My guess, it is still done today. Had we started the year before we would have been the youngest amoung the class of 64, as you are amoung the youngest with our class of 65.// Good to hear that you are having success in your new exercise program, congrats to you.// Len I plan on having 20 good years left in me too, HOPE, HOPE, HOPE! Life begins at 60 is my motto! To heck with all the rest of those years. :)

PJ Friday, 5/12/06, 10:54 AM

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers in our class. This miserable system is supposed to be leaving our area by Sunday and maybe we will see the sun, a nice Mothers Day present that will be. For the Mothers that don't live in our area I sure hope the sunshines for you as well. I will be golfing with my brother on Sunday, we might have to wear boots on our feet but we will be out there if the sun is out. We haven't been able to golf for a week and we are going through withdrawals.:) Have a good weekend everyone.

Larry Strack Friday, 5/12/06, 6:25 PM

This weather sucks! I'm even thinking of not playing paintball tomorrow. :-(

PJ Monday, 5/15/06, 6:30 AM

Good Morning to everyone! Hope you ladies had a nice Mother's day? Our weather continues to "suck" as Larry put it well, although it has warmed up a bit which helps. No golf here again, maybe Tuesday, then it's back to the rain, UGH.. Boy are we paying for our nice April.// Bob M. how is Carol doing, hope every thing is improving for her?// In between the rain I have managed to get my little patch of garden ready to plant, maybe in June at the rate we are going weather wise. Have a productive week.

Bob Marlowe Monday, 5/15/06, 7:40 AM

Hi everyone, P.J. Carol is doing really good. Has very litlle pain, and Dr. said she could start driveing again. She went back to work, part time. She is working three days a week, five to six hrs. a day. She gets her staples out thurs. I on the other hand am not doing so good. Go to the Dr. at 10:30. I have been having extreme stomach pains & nausea. I think I either have a hernia,Gall Bladder problem or kidney stones. Will let ya's know.

Larry Strack Monday, 5/15/06, 9:40 AM

Bob, none of those sound good. Hope it's just something you ate. PJ, I'm golfing Tues, rain or shine.

Devon Monday, 5/15/06, 10:38 AM

Larry....keep you head low when golfing. Don't get hit by lighting. Gas is just tooo expensive to go and wish you fairwell into the great blue yonder. Besides, I'm not done giving you crap yet. Another thing....practicing for our encounter with PJ is just not fair.

PJ Monday, 5/15/06, 1:26 PM

Holly smokes Bob, that doesn't sound like much fun at all. If it's gall bladder they say that that's a piece of cake, same with the Kidney Stones, they do it by laser now. But one never knows everyone is different, anyway I sure hope it isn't too serious.//Larry my brother and I are going out there tomorrow rain or shine too, we would have gone today but he had to work, he's semi retired. Heck you and Devon sure don't have to practice up for a round a golf with me for crying out loud I am still shooting 60 for 9 holes and that ain't good, I was breaking 60 at the end of the season last year but so far this year no dice.// I had to put gas in my car today $2.94, thank God I get 35 mi. to the gallion or I would have to start thinking about eating less. Oh if I don't quit on this subject I won't stop.// I just had an increase in Supplement Medical Ins.$15.00 a month. Why? To pay for all the paper work the ins company's have to do with the new Medicare Part D. Another subject that I get really riled up about. Why? Because I am on Medicare already because of my disibility. I am forced to purchase a Prescription Drug Plan, which is going to cost another $15.00 a month or pay a penalty for life if I don't do it now. It will now cost me more a month to pay for the insurance, then it cost me for the two prescripions I have been paying for out of pocket. Oh I really have to stop now because I could say so much more, I am hoping that someone with some intelligence will get this prscription plan fixed because it has the potential to be a good program, but it is really messed up, there is so much more but I will stop. I have researched this thing and believe it when you hear it is messed up because it is.

Larry Strack Monday, 5/15/06, 1:48 PM

Devon & PJ, I'm not practicing, I've joined a league here at work. And believe me it will take much more than this year to make much headway towards being a lower everage golfer. And PJ I hear ya on the Plan D...I looked into it for my mom and couldn't believe how @#*@# it was. She opted to stay with her coverage thru US Steel.

PJ Monday, 5/15/06, 4:03 PM

The part that really is hard to swallow is this Penalty For Life thing if you don't sign up now. Those who are doing ok with their policies the way they are or like my situation should not be penalized for not signing up until you actually need the program. Somebody is making money on this thing and it sure ain't us poor folk.

Bob Marlowe Tuesday, 5/16/06, 7:31 AM

Well the prognosis is in. I have a hernia. Your evaluation was right on target a couple of months ago Frank. I know exactly when I did it too. It was last summer when I moved that 1,100 lb. piece of granite when I was building my pond. Dr. gave me rest of week off, and will have surgeon contact me on wed. or thurs.as to when he will operate. Said after surgery, I might be off four to six weeks. I have over three months sick time though, so I'll still get paid. A'nt it hell to get old?

Frank Tuesday, 5/16/06, 9:34 AM

Bob -- when you said you might have a hernia, I remembered you moving the 1,100 lb rock, and thought that might be it. I had a hernia operation in 1974. The last physical I had noted one, but so small I don't have to do anything about it. / OK - this is what old people do -- talk about medical problems. I'm not old yet, so I'll stop. / Still working at SUPERVLAU, but nearing the end (I hope).

Len Tuesday, 5/16/06, 11:52 AM

Hay Bob, I know where the hernia came from. Talking to Dale Carlson on the job, he was telling me about the time you and Mike(Pig)Soyring rolled over a jeep when you were in the guards together. "How time gets even with us."

PJ Tuesday, 5/16/06, 1:20 PM

Hey Bob I remember the roll over stunt as well, back when my ex husband and you, Butch Liebert, Tom Young where all in the guards together. You good ole boys used to get into a lot of trouble when you guys where gone for the weekend. I remember!!!

Carla Wednesday, 5/17/06, 8:15 AM

Hello, Everyone. SOrry I've been out-of-touch.// First of all, I want to thank all of you for your birthday wishes. They were all wonderful to receive.?? Now for the bad news: my beautiful daughter Jessica has breast cancer. After three out-patient surgeries to remove the lump & check surrounding tissue for additional malignant cells, it's been decided she will most likely have a double mastectomy next Tuesday. She's having an MRI done tomorrow to determine if the other breast is involved, but she's pretty much decided she will have both removed because it's such an aggressive form of cancer - she wants to make sure all is removed before she starts radiation & chemo. She's only 35, so it's been a pretty rough time for all of us these last few weeks. Please, keep her in your prayers.

Bob Marlowe Wednesday, 5/17/06, 8:23 AM

Testing-testing. I'm haveing trouble makeing submissions.

PJ Wednesday, 5/17/06, 9:12 AM

I have been aware of CJ and Jessica's difficult time and have waited out of respect for Carla to put her up in the prayer list until she was ready to tell all of us. CJ you and Jess are now on our Prayer list, and I know with the help of your classmates prayers we can give you our support and love through this difficult time. We all love you CJ.// Bob your entry has been posted.

Len Wednesday, 5/17/06, 6:37 PM

CJ, my prayers are out there for you and your family, and I hope Jess has a speedy recovery.

PJ Saturday, 5/20/06, 7:01 AM

Calling all classmates, where did everyone go? Bob M are you still having trouble getting into the guest book, and is anyone else having trouble?

Bob Beetcher Saturday, 5/20/06, 10:48 AM

Carla, Sandra and I have you and Jessica in our thoughts and are hoping for the best. Wish we could do more. It must be really hard for all of you.

Larry Strack Saturday, 5/20/06, 6:59 PM

CJ, you and your family are in our prayers.

Kathie Monday, 5/22/06, 5:55 AM

Carla, I hope a pray for the best outcome. Cancer is such a hedious disease. Please take care! WE all should take the time to catch up on our health! no longer is the term 'if it ain't broke we don't need to fix it' one we can abide by! It's all about the "little aches" that becomne big pains! And more expensive pains. Patti, check into the Humana program....John signed up for that and seems quite pleased. Daughter Aimee is here, we travel back to Barrington Il together on Wednesday and I'll have two weeks down there . I'll try to keep in touch....

PJ Monday, 5/22/06, 7:01 AM

Good Monday Morning to all. It's good to see that our regulars are still here. Kathie I did sign up with Humana, and I agree it is the best that I could find for my particular expenses at this time. How's everthing going with your daughter's pregnancy, if my memory serves me right I think both our daughters are due in the later part of October? Tracy is doing good she hasn't slowed down any, she is still playing softball and 4 months pregnant. On top of taking care of a big house and huge yard to mow and planting a garden, and holding down two jobs. I am not sure that this is a good thing or not, could be I am just being a worry wort Mother?// Larry how did golf go last Tuesday? We golfed again on Saturday and I had one of my better rounds, I actually had a 57 @ Forest Point, which I have never been able to get under 60 in the 4 years I have been golfing there.

Carla Monday, 5/22/06, 10:20 AM

Hello, Everyone - thank you all for your thoughts and prayers - they really mean a lot to me/us. // Speaking of old bodies, mine is really hurting this morning - Malinda (younger daughter) and her family moved to what will be their permanent home (at least for many, many years to come) this weekend, with the 'big' move yesterday, i.e., the heavy furnitures, etc. I definitely overextended myself - but their all moved & only the cleaning at the old place has to be done (probably tonight). // Jessica has her surgery tomorrow so I won't be here at work. I don't think I gave the "good" news - at least I don't remember that I did: the lymph nodes (on the right side) were not involved. They were checked/analyxed/whatever & the cancer has not matastacised beyond the breast tissue, so that is something to be very grateful for. Thank you all again for you good thoughts - give your loved ones a big hug today!

Carla Monday, 5/22/06, 10:22 AM

Good grief! sorry about all the misspellings! Guess my fingers are tired, too!

Devon Monday, 5/22/06, 10:32 AM

Good afternoon everyone. CJ....great to hear the good news concerning your daughter. Our prayers are with you.

Larry Strack Monday, 5/22/06, 1:22 PM

CJ, we're happy to hear the good news. PJ, 59. Kathie, You mean all these little aches are going to get bigger?

PJ Monday, 5/22/06, 1:46 PM

CJ, that is the greatest news so far, and I hope surgery goes just as well tomorrow, keep us posted and we will keep praying for her recovery. You take care of yourself too, love ya.

Len Monday, 5/22/06, 8:15 PM

CJ, got all my fingers and toes crossed for your daughter.

What going on, is there a baby boom. My baby who is 30 and has been married for 8 years is having her first in August. I don't think she will make my B- day.

Bob Marlowe Tuesday, 5/23/06, 9:01 AM

Yep, I'm still having trouble loading messages. Will have to get my neighbor over here. He's a computer networker.

Bob Marlowe Tuesday, 5/23/06, 9:02 AM

Ok, went through tahat time.

Bob Marlowe Tuesday, 5/23/06, 9:32 AM

Ok, It seems it lets me get short messages through, but long ones, the task bar shows its locking up about 1/3 through.

PJ Tuesday, 5/23/06, 9:39 AM

Hi Bob, I don't think it is the Guest Book causing the problem for you, I am not sure? So far it is not freezing up here, is any one else out there that can see if they are having the same problem?

Devon Tuesday, 5/23/06, 10:47 AM

I have a real quandry.....I just can not understand how our children are getting older than we are. I know I'm not even close to being 10 yet. And them there is Larry....he'll never make 5. Larry..remember the mud balls on the willow sticks? / Len, you seem the have that age problem too. What I love about my grand children is I can fill them with candy and soda, then send them home. Don't ya just love them little darling. It's really cool to see God pay our children back for the trials and tribulation they put us through. Gotta to love 'em.

Devon Tuesday, 5/23/06, 10:51 AM

PJ...I'm having no problems with the guest book. Got to tell you again what a great job you are doing and the enjoyment I get from being able to connect with old friends and to make new friends from the classmates that I was unable to connect with while in school.

PJ Tuesday, 5/23/06, 3:46 PM

Thanks for the encouragement Devon, and the input about the Guest Book working. I guess it is your computer Bob being mishievious again. I really would be great if we could get more classmates to come into the site/guest book and chat with us, we seem to have lost Jim Van Driessche, Bobby Anderson is very busy at work so she is unable to chat, Nancy, sure would like to see you come join in the chat. Dave Soderlund give us a shout tell us what you are doing. Could there be more communication with personal e-mails that I don't know about as a result of the site. Maybe if any one is in touch with other classmates due to the site let us know who they are, even if they have no desire to chat with us in the guest book, it would be interesting to know who is actually staying in touch remotely. JUST A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY. :) PJ

Len Tuesday, 5/23/06, 7:59 PM

Devon, I have 6 grandchildren and 1 on the way. I tell my kids it's pay back time. Just love it, it's my favorite thing. Hay I remember mud balls and willow sticks. Shooting across Washington Park at the train, or who ever was on the tracks. DT you where involved in it. Had some nice wars.

Dave B Wednesday, 5/24/06, 4:52 AM

Morning to all.Just woke up on the 9th floor of St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. Had to take Cheryl in yesterday at about 7 pm for on going pain since about December. She had a CT scan at about midnight, and hopefully will find out what is causing this. Slept in the day room from about 3:30 till about 6:00 on a love seathtat is about 4 feet long. Mighty coumfy! Seems like a lot of us are facing problems that hopefully will turn out o k. Wishing the best to every one who is also worring about family and friends. Time to check and see how things are going this morning. I hope that the feeling that we will all have very positive results is correct! Will keep posted. Dave

PJ Wednesday, 5/24/06, 6:10 AM

My goodness cousin, I will put Cheryl up on the prayer list as well. I pray you get good news!//Len I remember you guys and your wars up at the tracks, it is a vague memory because I stayed clear of it, but I do remember asking you guys what on earth you where doing. I guess just a dumb girl not understanding boy games. :) By the way great to hear you are having another grandchild as well. It seems that some of our babies have waited a bit longer to have their children than we did.// Well we are going to try to golf today in between the showers today but at least it is warm. It was a beautiful night, stayed in the upper 50's all night and it is already 65 at 8:00 am. Ahh the shades of summer is upon us.

Carla Wednesday, 5/24/06, 9:03 AM

Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes. Jessica came through the surgery okay. But it was a long & difficult day - the surgery was postponed for 3 hours by TWO emergency C-sections, so she didn't come out of the recovery room until just after 5pm. I had to jet off to go pick up grandson Jack at daycare so didn't get to stay with her. Husband Tony & sister Malinda stayed. // My mother has been burning candles at church for Jessica "and whoever else needs it." David, I'm going to add Cheryl to her list of 'those who need it.' And I add my thoughts and prayers to those of your other classmates for a quick and positive resolution for this problem.

PJ Thursday, 5/25/06, 10:31 AM

I hope that everyone has a safe and fun weekend. Weather looks to be pretty nice, I will be golfing on Saturday. Then Monday's Memorial Services at Greenwood Cemetary where my Father is buried in the Veterans Area, and a then on to Nemadji where Mother is buried.//Dave B. I hope no news is good news?

Bob Marlowe Friday, 5/26/06, 7:15 AM

Well today's the day. I have to go in for Hernia surgery. Dr. said mine is of the intestional strangulation type, and has to be repaired or it could kill me. Have to be at hospital at 11:30, and surgery is at 1:30. Will be chatting with ya's soon.

PJ Friday, 5/26/06, 7:27 AM

Hope everything goes well with your surgery Bob M. and I will put you also up on the prayer list, for a fast recovery.

Kathie Friday, 5/26/06, 12:20 PM

Glad to hear about all the good news in the medical department! And more pryers always for those in needd! Yes, Larry, there are more aches as ever! I step incorrectly while moving over on a sofa and popped my fake hip out last night. Luckily, it popped right back in, "Dog sitting " in Il for the kids and "puppies" didn't want to share very well! I feel rather helpless here as I don't have too amny instructions; we arrived wednesday eve...Aimee left thursday morning and hubby Brent and I have visited about 10 minutes...he had school wed & thurs, evening arriving home at 11:00. Dinneer out with the "boy" tonight...maybe I can get some gardening done tomorrow, with permission. Grandchild due second week in October, am so excited! Can't believe the difference in maternity clohes...we tried to hide everything, now all shows!Hopefully I'll get ot see a new ultrasound of "Bean" June 2! Bob, let us know how you are doing...and to all the Vet's in our clas...a big thank you for your courage, valor and honor defending our country! Please extend this wish to your friends and relatives. I'm afraid that if our generation doesn't do more to preserve these celebrations and there meanings it will be lost!

Bob Marlowe Saturday, 5/27/06, 6:28 AM

Hi everybody, well I'm home. Surgery went well. It's probably the first day in months that I haven't had abdominal pain. Have very little surgical pain, but it's probably because I have to take Vikeadin every four hrs. for six days. Surgery only took 45 minutes, and about a hour and a half in recovery room. It's the first surgery I've ever had. Carol was telling me how weird it is. You just go to sleep, and then wake up. I remember the nurse shaking my schoulder and saying " Robert are you wake?" All I remember is asking her if I was done yet. Dave B. Hope Chery's problem gets fixed as easy as mine.

PJ Saturday, 5/27/06, 6:56 AM

Good morning Bob M. very good news, so glad that everything has turned out good and it was easy surgery. Now if we can get Cheryl and Carla's daughter back on track with our prayers and support won't that be great. You take care of your self and no more lifting huge boulders, which I am sure you have been warned about by several others, but I thought I would say it too.:) I am golfing today, we are in a heat wave here. Temps are going to be in the mid to high 80's today and possibly into the 90's on Sunday, with humidity to add to the punch. Can you believe it Memorial weekend around here, it usually is a cold wet weekend. Global warming? I think so, us Northerner's sure know it. Have a great day everyone.

Larry Strack Saturday, 5/27/06, 8:00 AM

Bob, glad to hear you're surgery went so well. Warm it is, PJ. I finally had the motivaztion and time to get my motorcycle out, tuned up and on the road. Many house projects to do this weekend plus a small get to gether with the kids/grandchildren. Carol and I bought a bunch of super soakers for some backyard fun...when will that woman ever grow up?

kathie Monday, 5/29/06, 9:47 AM

Larry....who(?) purchased the soakers.......? and just how will the GK"S dodge the masterful paint ball practicener? Hope the weather is cooperating. did the Memorial day parade in Barrington this mnorning. Small, but tearful...I'm such a sop! Hotter than Hades down here and only room air, no basement here. Boy....a challenge to keep cool. Dogs and I out very early this morning for their run..and now they ar couch "popuppies". Bob, glad all went well, day surgery, nothing like it! and Carla, hope all is going well in Idaho. Dave, you better be a good "nurse"...and prayers to your wife's recovery. where is the "lumberman"?

Devon Tuesday, 5/30/06, 6:43 AM

Kathie....you are quicker than I, You detected the "skunk in the wood pile" in Larry's message before I did. Larry, hope the grand kids got the best of you, although I know it would be a big job. Do the super soakers shoot as well as the paint ball guns????? OR...Did you (Larry) use you paint ball gun and make the GK'S us the super soakers??? That sounds like something you would do. Have a great day everyone.. Great to see everyone is doing good with the medical problems.

PJ Tuesday, 5/30/06, 8:21 AM

Greetings everyone, "whew" the hottest Memorial weekend I ever remember! I bet those super soakers really helped with the heat. I actually went in swimming at my brother's cabin on Sunday. The water was a bit chilly yet, but I was able to stay in it enough to float around a bit and get cooled off. I sure hope everyone had a good weekend.// Hey Kathie who is the "lumberman"?

Larry Strack Tuesday, 5/30/06, 3:35 PM

Kathie/Devon, it actually was Carol that purchased the super soakers. I was the innocent bystander. We all had a ball and the soakers did help make the heat bearable. We had filled our pool but the water was still too cold for even the kids.

Devon Wednesday, 5/31/06, 10:26 AM

Morning all. Hey, Kathie, do you really think Larry is an innocent by stander??? I think he picked out the super soakers and forced his beautiful wife to pay for them. I wonder what she would say if she read this?? Hot, muggy today...have had a lot of rain the past few days. Devon

Larry Strack Wednesday, 5/31/06, 3:33 PM

Devon, I'm hurt. I had to pay for them.

PJ Thursday, 6/1/06, 8:46 AM

CJ, are you at work today? How are you and Jessica doing? Bob M. how are you doing? Cousin David how is Cherly doing?

Carla Thursday, 6/1/06, 2:44 PM

Hi, all..and PJ! Yes, I'm here today, but busy getting the first of the month mailing out. I started it last week (luckily!), so I WILL be able to get it done today. // Jessica is doing just fine - she looks really good. She's probably doing better than her mother. She's been having lots of doctor visits, additional 'scans', etc. She will start chemo by the end of the month. Lots of preliminaries before it actually starts.// We had a cool and rainy Memorial weekend, which actually was nice - I rested rather than worked out in the yard/garden. We had some very unseasonably hot weather last week (or maybe the week before...can't quite keep the days/weeks straight lately...) 90+ temps; broke all sorts of weather records. Quite unbearable - too early. // Happy to hear that your surgery went well, Bob - couldn't you have let Carol have a little more personal recovery time before you needed to be the patient/invalid? <g> Have been wondering about Cheryl, tho', David - in this case, no news is not necessarily good news. // well, best get back to work. hope to participate at a more "normal" level soon.

PJ Thursday, 6/1/06, 3:12 PM

CJ, so good to hear good news, will still keep her in our prayers, I do hope Chemo goes well for her. I think you sent the hot weather here because we got two days of 97 degree stuff, way too hot for me. This week has been just as nice as it can be mid 70's to 80, it's like July and August weather. At least the weather is good, my golf game sure "sucks". How you doing Larry? I think I better keep taking photos, at least I know I can take better pix than I can golf. I will keep plugging away at the darn ol game though, just because it is a challenge.// My nephew is getting married September 30th and has asked me to sing so I am now doing some daily vocalizing, got to get these vocal chords in tip top shape. I have sang at all of my nieces and nephews weddings after this one there will be one more left. I told him he better hurry up before I get too old to sing.:)

kathie Thursday, 6/1/06, 9:54 PM

Well, PJ...maybe i should have said the wood man or the furniture maker...haven't heard from that man for a while! It's been a warm one in Il too...thank god it has cooled a bit. We've had storms down here and the "dog walking" in rain and lightning isn't exactly my idea of fun! Yes, Devon, for once my fingers weere faster than my mouth, but it does sound like Larry and co. had a cool refreshing weekend. It'll be a painting day tomorrow , have a piece of garage garbage to make gourgous!! I won't be attending the dinner on Wednesday. Don't return to the cities until the 8th. Extend my greetings to all and enjoy the conversation.

PJ Friday, 6/2/06, 6:10 AM

Oh Geez, major brain malfunction of course you where referring to Frank, Dah! Ok Frank does that tell you something, you are working too much, I forgot who the wood guy was among us, how could I forget????? Kathie, I will tell the girls Hi for you and maybe next month you can join us.

Frank Friday, 6/2/06, 2:15 PM

Timing is everything PJ. SUPERVALU acquired Albertsons today, so my consulting stint is over. I can now return to the happy retiree life. The first order of business is to order 50 yards of mulch. Spreading that should keep me busy for quite a while. I also need to get both cars in for servicing. I don't know how I got these things done before I retired.

PJ Friday, 6/2/06, 3:05 PM

Hey Frank good to hear your back to retired life, will we hear more from you now that you are back home? I suppose I won't be able to convince you to play any more games. I actually haven't played for quite awhile, I will have to try it again. Well don't work too hard out in that yard of yours.

PJ Friday, 6/2/06, 4:44 PM

Happiest of Birthday wishes to Nancy Hossalla! Nancy forgive me if you gave me your birthdate before today and I forgot to put it up. Thank you for sending me the info. Devon I got your birthdate fixed as well.// I don't know if anyone has ever saw a Luna Moth, the first time I saw one of these miracle's of nature was back in the 80's and it was huge. The one I saw today was just a baby it was only 4" across the wings as it rested on the wall of one of the buildings here at the apartment. The one I saw years ago was about 12" across the wings at rest. Really a rare find, hope you enjoy.

PJ Sunday, 6/4/06, 8:35 AM

Hey Devon, have a super Birthday and I hope you have many more.

PJ Monday, 6/5/06, 2:42 PM

It is way too quiet out there is anybody around?// CJ, I left a message for David to call me but haven't heard from him yet. I hope you got some rest this past weekend?// I need to find out if anyone is using the chat room? If it isn't being used I would like to delete it from the page,it takes up a lot of space. Or is that why it's so quiet, everyone is talking in the chat room and no one is writing in the Guest Book?????? Let me know gang. PJ :)

Larry Strack Monday, 6/5/06, 4:23 PM

Happy Birthday Devon...now you're older than me Sir. I use the term sir because I was taught to respect my elders. :-0 Chat room empty. Maybe we could use a chat that alerts you when someone is there?

PJ Tuesday, 6/6/06, 6:03 AM

Hi Larry, I doubled checked in the work site to see if there was anyway I could set up the chat room differently but there isn't. The only thing that I could change about it is to set up specific times that we could chat on a particular subject. But most of you that come in here are at work so that wouldn't work out too good either. Anyone else use the chat room?????

Bob M. how are you doing with your recovery?

Hi to all. I'm guessing you all thought we must have kicked the bucket, but not yet so do'nt start celebrating yet. We finially got the last of test results, and things turned out relatively well. Not life threatening but still painfull and when you do'nt know what is going on you think the worst. To start, Cheryl has a hiatial hernia which is not pleasant, and explains the barfing. Next, too many execdrin to handle the pain have caused some stomach problems, so backing off on that should help with that problem. Last, an inflamed colon was causing the worst of the pain, so some meds to take care of that should do the job, allthough it seems not right away. Takes time I guess,at least thats what I tell Cheryl. So, remember the lime an de cocconut song where that caused the bellyache? Doctor says to fix it , put the lime in de cocconut an drink um both up. Seems the excedrin she took to help with the pain helped to cause the pain, like the song! Well, this is starting to get a bit long oops almost forgot, I showed Cheryl the website and she was amazed with the get wells from you all. Thanks. And now we are hoping that all goes well for everyone who is dealing with what life hands us, especially Carlas daughter who in the most needy of our prayers. Later, Dave

Great to hear from you Dave, I sure do understand the Excedrin causing stomach problems. I did the same thing and now I can't take any asprin and a lot of drugs that they have tried with me get my stomach going into a tail spin. Sorry, don't mean to add to her problems, I do hope her recovery is quick, thanks for letting us know.

My 2 cents on the chat room. I have tried a few times to use it without results. Others were signed in but didn't answer. Hasn't worked for me. Hi Everyone to a great day. Bright sun shine and warm.

Pj, never have used the chat room....just not up to snuff maybe, but my simple mind doesn't allow for exploration of new stuff! Hot and humid in Chicago land, aimee and Brent at Navy Pier photographing the former Prez clinton and rudy Guliani. should be interesting dinner conversation tonight. Dave, that Excederine thing is amazing. I too, had been taking over the counter stuff for the arthritis, yup, next up was an ulcer. put me on vioxx, yup, a little heart irregularities! What's the answer? Wish I knew, although the water aeorbics has been a god send. Got to go finish a table cloth to match the drapes ...prayers to all for continued recovery!

Thanks for your 2 cents worth Devon,:) it's worth about $10.00 to me. Anyone else out there today that might have an opinion on our chat room?// Wow another hot day, yesterday's 85% high humidity + over 60% dew point was crazy, and I and my brother where out on the golf course in the heat. We got off the course just in time because the black clouds where rolling in. On the trip home from the course I could hardly see to drive it was coming down so hard. Finally had a better day on the course, we went to Norwood this time and I had a 55 for 9 holes. That gave me a boost to want to go back out again, I was really wondering why I was torturing myself playing this game that I was unable to improve at. I do believe I have a mental block when it comes to Forest Point, it is a tougher course than Norwood but not that tough. Oh well it seems I will not throw my clubs in the lake after all. :)

PJ, throwing your clubs in the lake would not be environmentaly prudent. :-) I golfed last night (92 degrees) and shot a 58. That's a best for me since I restarted a few games back. Isn't it a fun game?
