Latest News:
There is no major workday for Blue River Parkway this year, but we should have
small workdays to address various minor problems. Check out
the Work Schedule page for details.
The Trail Watcher assignments have been updated for 2009. Check out
the Trail Assignments page for the assignments.
The workday on Saturday, April 25 went very well. Thanks to Bryan Applegate, Doug Bottorff,
Ted Kleisner, Rodney Manfredi, and Phil Scherer's efforts, we got the trail repairs complete
and most of the equestrian re-route completed (it is pretty much clear--but needs to have
some benchcutting and final touch-ups made).
Please check out the Safety
Information page before you head out on the trails. It has a very important message and some
helpful tips. Nobody expects or wants to get hurt, but it happens. Please keep safety in mind to
keep injuries at bay.
Check out the Projects and Plans page for
the latest information about our future plans. This information
is subject to change (your input is invited), so check it out occasionally for updates.
Check
out the Plans and Work Schedule for more details on any scheduled work days. This web
site is updated regularly as work is done and work days are scheduled, so please check it out
frequently! Contact Rob Stitt (rob@robstitt.com) if you'd
like to receive e-mail notices about trail work in the park.
The primary trail running through the hills east of Blue River Rd. has been named the
"Bo Ho Ca" Trail. Where did this name originate?? Take a look at the
1934 Topological Maps
and you'll see a reference to "Camp Bo Ho Ca". The camp was located
in the hills, just across Blue River Rd. from where the "122nd and Blue River" soccer
fields are now located.
