We are currently a military family of three.
Christopher, Patricia & Devon.
Soon we hope to be a family of 5.
Our mission is to adopt
two children, a girl and a boy, between the ages of three and 7.
Why two kids? We asked our
son about a year a go how many brothers and sisters he wanted. This being part of a long term conversation about family. He
very clearly and quickly stated, "5, it takes 5 to be a family"
To be a family of five we
need two more. That pretty much settled it.
Why do we want to adopt?
I think the question for us has never been why. But, why NOT.
There are children out there all over the world without a mommy or daddy to tuck
them in, read them a story, give them a hug, comfort them, give them a nurturing home, a family who loves them, nothing.
Not even a parent to make them go to school and do their homework, nothing. They get nothing, endless nights of nothing.
The have no one to stand up for them, no one to protect them, no one to guide
them and no one to encourage them. No one family to be there for them.
Neither of us can ignore that.
We want more kids and we've chosen to grow our family through adoption. It's
not the way everyone does it, It is the way we will do it.
