I am currently an employee of EDS, an HP company. EDS was founded by Ross Perot, sold to GM, spun off, run as an
independent company, and recently sold to Hewlett Packard as part of the Information Services division.
I started with General Motors as a college graduate, transitioned to EDS, worked at the local GM plant for several years
supporting PCs and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems. The AS/RS's were phased out as the industry realized it
was vital to maintain lean manufacturing practices.
I transferred to EDS's Troy, Michigan Application Development Division, and supported five GM Truck and Bus plants
on their mainframe Vehicle Ordering System (VOS) and PSIC (Production Scheduling and Inventory Control) system. I briefly
worked for the "Shared System for Pull" team in Warren, Michigan before returning to the Mansfield plant, near my family.
At Mansfield I have supported PSIC from the plant standpoint, the shipping and receiving system (MGO) and Production
Pull System for Components plants.
