I've managed several system implementations and migrations in the automotive materials management space over the last
30 years.
Technology is always changing, and that has been reflected in my career. The rate of change is accelerating. I
started my career as an accountant using a 10-key calculator, then supported personal computers when they were first introduced.
I've developed applications in BASIC on timesharing systems, in PL/I on a VAX, and in COBOL on a mainframe.
I've used database packages across many platforms from dBase to DB2 to Datatrieve to Oracle. I've been a
system administrator, user support person, and a team leader/manager.
Through the years I have honed a philosophy of work:
- If you stop changing, you die.
- Learn something new every day.
- Good luck consists of being prepared to take advantage of opportunities
as they come up.
- A spirit of thanksgiving is essential.
