THE SOLUTION

  1. We came to realize that we could not control the addict or his behavior. We understand that our problems are emotional and spiritual. We have become ready to face our denial and past issues.

  2. We are ready to accept responsibility for our own actions and make Jesus the Lord of our lives. We are dedicated to learning about sexual addiction and becoming partners with our spouse or significant other in recovery. We realize that we are not responsible for his addiction or recovery. It is not our job to "cure" him.

  3. We are willing to start recovery to heal ourselves and start living the life God has planned for us. We are willing to give up sexual relations. For some of us this means abstinence with our spouse for a time. For single women this means abstinence until marriage.

  4. We realize that our group provides a safe place to share our hurts, anxieties, frustrations and also our happiness and victories. We have become willing to face our own defects and work through these feelings in our group.

  5. We are willing to seek a closer relationship with God. In facing our fears we have relized that Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are what we need to overcome them. By surrendering our relationships to God we have realized that He is faithful to restore them.

  6. We will continue to seek a daily quiet time with God and trust that He can renew our minds.
