The accident occurred at 12:30 o'clock 2 CONC and Green died enroute to Windber Hospital. 2 CONT Dr. A.M. Uphouse, Somerset County coroner, said death was caused 2 CONC by a crushed chest and fractured skull. Investigation showed the 2 CONC miner was digging coal when the heavy rock broke loose and struck him 2 CONC on the back and head. Green's head was buried in loose coal he had 2 CONC dug a few minutes before. 2 CONT Fellow workmen removed him from under the rock and took him to 2 CONC the surface. A coal truck took him to the hospital, where he was 2 CONC pronounced dead. 2 CONT Mr. Green was married and the father of five children. 2 CONT The case was referred to Cambria County Coroner Paul J. Wills of 2 CONC Loretto.
