Tree and Shrub Fund

During this past year our tree board created the St. John City Tree and Shrub fund. This tax-free fund was established because of an influx of donations from various St. John citizens, friends of St. John, and area businesses.

We also contacted Sprint and Classic Cable Television for their help. Their fund donations went towards the purchase of fourteen shrubs that were planted next to our two "Welcome to St. John" entrance signs.

Seven shrubs donated by St. John citizens were planted in our downtown Square.

Recently, we have received additional donations for twenty-two trees - nineteen Scotch pines, two October Glory red maples, and one Northern red oak. These trees will be planted this March in our Brown Park, Cornwell Park and our Square.
