TREASURER’S REPORT
$60.20 in petty cash, last expenditure was for paper for easel. Request report from Board of Supervisor’s regarding our balance with them.

PUBLIC COMMENT
Wendi Gosliner read comment from Susan Swift noting lack of designation of areas specifically for parks. Noting some resources that could be on next month’s agenda.
Michelle Blackwell requested continued reduction of water usage and reported that the Claremont tunnel project is on time.
Mr. Harvey questioned the lack of proper oversight of Contra Costa Regional Medical Center by the Board of Supervisors that is endangering $300 million federal contract.

PRESENTATIONS
Short celebration of our speaker, Supervisor John Gioia’s birthday ensued.
John acknowledged former members Hope Scott, Erica Peng and Marilynne Mellander and presented them with certificates of appreciation. He also noted presence of other former members Reva Clark and Ruby Molinari. He welcomed the new members Mike Daley, Deborah Butler and returning member Tom Owens. John noted upcoming El Cerrito City presentation for committees, commissions and councils (first Saturday in March). He also mentioned possible limited funding of MACs for administrative support in the near future.

SDI.1 Mike Daley, Deborah Butler, Tom Owens sworn in as El Sobrante Municipal Advisory Council Members by Supervisor John Gioia.
SDI.2 New members-Brief History from each person.
Mike Daley has worked for Sierra Club for 9 yrs, moved to El Sobrante 2.5 yrs ago and has lived in the general area since 1987.
Deborah Butler moved up from southern California 2.5 yrs ago as pastor of Hope Lutheran Church. Has two grown sons and enjoys the ambiance of the community and the feeling of being home.
Tom Owens has lived in El Sobrante for 6 yrs and lived in the area since 1989. He works for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a chemist in a geology lab. He has two grown sons (twins) recently graduated from college.

SDI.4 El Sobrante Chamber of Commerce Dinner.
El Sobrante Chamber of Commerce has invited the ESMAC to attend their installation of officers and Awards Banquet on Saturday February 3, 2007(Richmond Elks Lodge). RSVP by January 30, 2007 (Susan Duerksen 462 Appian Way El Sobrante 94803 510-223-0100).

PUBLIC COMMENT
Marilynne Mellander commented on Jim Cowen and the influence of the Chamber of Commerce.
Eleanor Lloynd announced the ESVPZAC meeting for Thursday, January 11th.
Barbara Pendergrass thanked Terrance and Tom for the new ESMAC roster.
Tom Owens asked Michelle Blackwell about the effect of the earthquakes on the Claremont Tunnel (assured that they held up well) and the status of the mounds of dirt piled along San Pablo Dam Road by CalTrans (no follow-up has occurred).
The El Sobrante Mechanics Bank was held up this afternoon (Wed. January 10th).
LAFCO has announced that annexations of properties with all property owners agreeing to annexation will no longer have protest hearings.
