Our Stewart line probably emigrated from Ireland. The earliest ancestor and progenitor of this family was Thomas H. Stewart. All that is
known about him is that he participated in a property transaction with a Mary (Colt) Colvin who may have had some family relationship with
Thomas. If there is a connection with the Colvin's, then it is likely the Stewarts resided in York County PA near the town of Centreville.
The first actual evidence of this family's location is found in the 1880 US Census for Pittsburgh, PA. There, Thomas's
daughter Laura would marry Jesse Boyd and so give rise to the Author's immediate paternal line.
