16. Enoch4 Pearson (Enoch3, Edward2, Lawrence1) was born in BUCKS, PA May 25, 1718.(19) There is a discrepancy in the date of Enoch's birth. As recorded in the source, Soldier's of the Revolution in Bedford County Tennessee, the month of his birth is either May or March. In this source is a section from the Pearson Family Bible which records his birth as Sunday on May 25th, 1718. Since it is the closest source to the event, it is assumed to be the more accurate date. Enoch died circa 1780 in Ninety Six District, SC.

He married Tabitha Jacocks in Frederick, VA, September 1751. Tabitha was born December 7, 1734 in MONMOTH, NJ.(20) She was the daughter of Johathan Jacocks and Mary Unknown. Tabitha died February 14, 1811 in SC, at 76 years of age.

Enoch Pearson fathered all of his children in the Bucks County area of Pennsylvannia. A member of the Friends denomination of the Quakers, he moved his family to Bush River, SC sometime after 1775 to join other Friends at the settlement near Padget's Creek. It is here that he died sometime around 1780 according to his will.

He stood with General George Washington and died from rigors of the Revolutionary War after the defense of Charleston. His sons however sided with the British.

child 29 iii. Margaret Pearson was born in CHESTER, PA October 17, 1756. According to the Family Bible, Margaret was born on a Sunday near Noon. She married Robert Burns.

child 30 iv. Sarah Pearson was born in CHESTER, PA January 15, 1759. According to the Family Bible, Sarah was born on a Monday near 10 PM. She married Charlie Jones.

child 32 vi. Rachel Pearson was born in CHESTER, PA August 3, 1763. According to the Family Bible, Rachel was born on a Wednesday about 3 PM. She married George Roberts in UNION, SC.

Rachel's will was probated in UNION, SC, February 25, 1811.(22)

child 33 vii. Tabitha Pearson was born in CHESTER, PA September 28, 1765. According to the Family Bible, Tabitha was born on a Saturday near 10 PM. She married Stacey Cooper.

child 34 viii. Elizabeth Pearson was born in CHESTER, PA November 29, 1767. According to the Family Bible, Elizabeth was born on a Sunday between 4-5 PM.

child 35 ix. Hannah Pearson was born in CHESTER, PA January 28, 1770. According to the Family Bible, Hannah was born on a Saturday and died 12 days later. Hannah died February 9, 1770 in CHESTER, PA, at less than one year of age. Hannah's life was very short, being only 12 days. What caused her early death is unknown. Her mother, however, would conceive again giving birth to Issac exactly 1 year and 1 day following his sister's death.

child 37 xi. Enoch Pearson III was born in CHESTER, PA October 1, 1775. According to the Family Bible, Enoch was born on a Sunday an hour before day. He married an unknown person.
