Two of John's sons would eventually settle in York County, PA and raise families of their own. Son James, our progenitor, raised his family in Centreville, York, PA along the Susquehannah River where he made his living owning a lumber mill. This mill may have been built on Boyd's Run a small tributary feeding into the Susquehanna and possibly named after him.
Later the Boyd line moves to Pittsburgh and then Philadelphia, PA finally coming to South Florida. It is here in Miami, FL that the Boyd line joins with the Crawford line and traces back into the maternal Williford and Pearson lines.
