Tim Gillotti
Dyer Brook, Maine
757-7226

Tim is the "jack of all trades" in the band. His primary instrument is Banjo and he does an exceptional job at it. He also does a great job playing Dobro, Bass and running the sound.

He has been playing about 25 years now and it shows as he is very well versed up and down the neck of any instrument he picks up. Along with our band Tim plays with another Bluegrass group and a Country band so he's pretty busy doing what he loves...playing music.

Arden is the band "MC" and you never know what he's going to say. This really helps to keep the audience on their toes. He was initially introduced to Bluegrass in the mid 70's at Yonder Hill campground where Sam Tidwell held 2 festivals per year. This is where he met BT and they have been good friends ever since. Arden plays Mandolin and sings harmony with Ian and Shirley as well as doing the bookings, playing banker and making up the set lists.  His son Alex is starting to play some Mandolin with the band, pretty exciting.

Oh I almost forgot, he's the Web Master as well.

Ian Dunbar is the unique one of the band and he's also the only "snow bird" among us as well...His Bass that he so proudly played for many years was "homemade" by Ian himself, I believe that it was initially a Boy Scout project. We have done many a surgery in the field to keep the old Bass together, sort of felt like we needed a M.A.S.H. unit set up at all times to keep her sounding good. What a sound and unlike any other around. Unfortunately she reached a point where she needed to retire for a while and Ian plans on a major restoration, can't wait. In the meantime he puchased a new to him off the shelf model, looks nice, sound is good, but it'll never replace the old one. It's funny how we get so attached to things. A 2008 update, while in Florida this wintr he purchased a dandy of a Bass, what a sound...perhaps he'll have a bass for sale????

Ian has played music for a long time with many greats across New Brunswick.
Besides Bluegrass he played in a Country dance band for a little extra money, funny how there is more money in Country than in playing Bluegrass.

PS. Be on the look out for the new "Dunbar" motorhome, coming soon to a festival near you.

Oh how we save the best for last...Miss Shirley Haines. Whoa what an incredible asset to the band. She has a very strong country background and has done some recordings with the likes of Ray Legere. She is the host of many weekly jams in New Brunswick so you might say she is sort of responsible for keeping the music alive.

Being the only woman in the group she is often the brunt of our onstage antics, which I must say she handles very well and the crowd loves her. She has an incredible strong voice and it matters not whether she's singing lead or harmony, it's just perfect in every way. Shirley plays rhythm guitar, splits the lead vocals with Ian and of course does a fantastic job of singing harmony. She'll be playing Fiddle as well this season, can't wait!
