In the border
lands between England and Scotland is a hilly terrain where only the tough survive. In this country, stretching for
miles and miles, sheep farmers herded with what is the world's premier herding breed ~ the Border Collie.
Through the years and up into most of the 20th
century, breeders continued to choose dogs based on their working abilities rather than their appearance. The result
is that purebred Border Collies vary greatly in appearance.
