The second attempt at a time-exposure of a rocket launch is a slight improvement over the first try. The latest try is of an Atlas 5 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 10:10 p.m. on 8 March 2007. The rocket carries STP-1 for the Department of Defense Space Test Program which consists of six satellites to be deployed into two different low-Earth orbits. The satellites are the ASTRO Servicing Vehicle, the NEXTSat/Commodity Spacecraft, MidSTAR-1, STPSat-1, the Cibola Flight Experiment, and FalconSat-3. <<<back to MISSION/LAUNCH INDEX | |
