A Delta II rocket carries a dual payload of a Global Positioning Satellite (GPS 2R-8) and an experimental Air Force satellite, XSS-10, into orbit on 29 January 2003 at 1:06 p.m. from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Photos show from upper left, the top of the rocket above the trees, then the moment of ignition, liftoff, then a short sequence showing the pitchover to align the rocket into its proper trajectory for orbit, and, finally, lower right, the rocket disappears into the clouds.
