THE
TADDEY REUNION

June 30, 2007
The Taddey reunion in 2005, held in the former East Prussia ,which is now Poland, was a huge success with attendees from South America, USA, and Germany. We visited the villages where many Taddey grandparents were born, and from which they emigrated to America. So, since Andre' and Heike Taddey and their two sons, Simon and Joel , were coming to America on June 30, 2007 to visit with us and to meet as many of their American "cousins" as possible, we thought it would be a good idea to have a Taddey/Worgul reunion to celebrate the occasion. The "Worgul" part of the reunion would consist of the descendants of Johann Worgul and his wife Dorothy Taddey, who emigrated to America in 1902. All of the Taddeys listed in the white pages throughout America and Canada were also invited. The event was held at the Grand Woods Park Pavillion, Lansing, Mi (Delta Twp.) The event featured a pig roast, and informal yard games for the young at heart. The Taddeys who attended were encouraged to bring such genealogical information as they have to share with Andre', since he has developed an extensive history of the Taddeys dating back to the 1600s. A German band from the Michigan State University Community Music School provided the music. About seventy persons attended plus the German Band members and other guests.

In the little village of Tylkowo, in what was formerly East Prussia, but now Poland, there is a memorial to
those who proudly bear the name of Tadday in it's various forms. I saw that memorial on my recent visit
to Tylkowo in 2005 and visited the nearby little villages where the Taddey families came from.

Reunion attendees from Canada are , left to right, Ute Repple, SonjaFinocchiaro, and Brigitta Repple Tadday. Sonja and Ute are children of Brigitta.

Monica Hess, great grand daughter of Johann and Dorothy Taddey happened to have a birthday on the same day as the reunion. Naturally, we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

Doug Worgul. great grandson of Johann Worgul and Dorothy Taddey ,helped pull the pork from the roast pig. It was delicious.

Everybody had enough to eat. Your hostess, Shirley Worgul, prepared the menu and made sure there was enough for everyone.

Our thanks goes to the Geman Band from the Michigan State University Community Music School. Since the Taddey/Worgul reunion were folks who immigrated from East Prussia, Germany, the band played many German melodies.
