Temples and Altars
Rev 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God,
and the altar, and them that worship therein. (KJV)
1 Cor 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (KJV)
2 Cor 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said,
I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (KJV)
Zech 6:15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of
hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God. (KJV)
Note that "far off" (H# 7350) can be either in TIME or location
Matt 26:61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days. (KJV)
Before wise builders commence construction, they measure the size of the task at hand. Yashua said:
Luke 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have
sufficient to finish it? (KJV)
This "Temple" of Rev 11:1, is therefore, not a building. In fact it is easy to proove it isnt. Thus the story of the necessity
of "rebuilding the temple" in Jerusalem before Yashua's return, is just that. A story of man. Father even says in several
places that He never asked for a physical "house". See 2 Sam 7:5-7, and the same passage (perhaps for emphasis for some) is
in 1 Chron 17:4-6.
Now, reminding you that when John was taken to a time yet future to the present time, (Rev 1:10), he was "in the Spirit"
having the Word in his mind, and he was shown the task to be done by the future Elect. It surely gave him much comfort to
see the fruit of his labors. As a witness to this, he said in his epistles that he rejoiced on finding children of the light
when he made the journey to the future. Writing to the Elect Bride in
2Jn 1:4, he said, "I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment
from the Father. (KJV)
In Rev 11:1, the "reed" given to John was surely the "mother unit of measure", For in Rev 10, he was told to "eat the book".
Is this not the same reed as in the angels hand in Eze 40:5, and in Zech 2:1? John was to use the WORD to "measure" the Temple
of GOD. In other words, measure those who CLAIM to be the "temple", and see if they fit the measurement of Father's Word.
He was specifically told NOT to measure those that are without. In other words, measure those that are IN the "temple." As
always, there are many who trade the written Word of God for the words of man, or essentially as mistakenly, substitute the
meanings given by men for the only interpretation of the Word.
Man has always had the problem of placing theories of their favorite personality or denomination above the written Word.
If we are to do the work of Yashua as He would have us to, we will watch and wait for Him. We will believe His Word. We will
not plan contingencies based on preconceptions given by man, nor any sour pickle dream. If we do, there is sadness waiting
when Yashua returns. What sadness?, Well,
Zech 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was
wounded in the house of my friends. (KJV)
Now this word "house" here in Zech is H# 1005, the same word Father uses to David in 1 Sam 7:5-7, and 1 Chron 17:4-6 when
He states that He had NEVER asked for a physical house. Think about it. What sort of "house" are you building? Is it built
on the Rock of the Word, or the sands of a human mind? Are you looking for the "under construction" signs of the times in
trivia or in places other than Fathers Word? If so, turn from it.
In 2 Cor 10, Paul was saying of his authority as an Elect, that he had the right to boast. (see vv 7+) But, in verse 12,
2 Cor 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they
measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. (KJV)
Be careful not to compare yourself with another, nor boast that you are elder than another in the Word. Measure yourself
with the WORD. You will find that you come up far short.
Zech 4:9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt
know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. (KJV)
Again the word "house" is H#1005. The Zerubbabel are those who were "born" in confusion. It describes all of humanity.
But the task that these in Zech are given insures that some few both came out and will forever stay out of confusion.
When I first came out of the "denominations" having heard the truth, I was moved with the spirit. Then came the task of
getting others to hear. Then comes the probability of falling back into a different kind of denomination, closing ears to
the truth, and failing to grow in the Word, being satisfied with whatever meat you hear. This is warned of many places. Here
Luke 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none,
he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
25, And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. 26, Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more
wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. (KJV)
Altars comes next. Meanwhile think about the acceptable sacrifice you will offer. Where and what is the altar you will
