These are sumi ink drawings mostly on Arches paper.
Some times they are the first mark toward making a sculpture. They also allow me to setup a "what if this was really a sculpture"
scenario. I imagine a place that the sculpture resides in. While building it that imagined place becomes
real within the sculpture operating as a presence. The sculpture comes with it's own space included! Moved to a new environment
it joins with it to form a third space.
The building goes on even in the harsh black and white light of our new enviorment.
