Two players stand facing each other about five feet apart. A penny is placed in the middle of the two players on the ground. Each player takes turns throwing the ball at the penny. A hit counts as one point. If the penny is turned over when hit then it counts as five points. Keep the penny wherever the ball moves it throughout the game. 25 points wins.
All the players stand in a circle except one. All the players in the circle pass around a ball. The one player on the outside of the circle suddenly calls stop and whoever has the ball is caught. Each time a player is caught she must step outside of the circle. The last player left is the caller for the next game.
Two teams line up facing each other with a large space between them. In the middle of the two teams an object is placed that represents the “bacon”. Each team captain gives each of her team members a number. Then the captains from each team take turns calling out numbers. The two players (one from each team) whose number was called advance to the “bacon.” Each player tries to steal the “bacon” without being tagged by the opposing player. When the “bacon” is successfully stolen, one point is earned for that team. When a player tags the opposing player with the “bacon” before she reaches her team another point is earned.
One player hides. The rest of the players go looking for her. Whoever finds the hidden player must also hide with that player. The hiding place gets more and more crowded and easier to find as the game progresses.
Hot
and Cold
One player closes her eyes or goes behind a building. While the player, is gone the other players hide a small object in the vicinity. The hidden player is called back and must find the hidden object. But the player has the help of all the other players. As she gets closer the other players call out “hot”. When the searching player strays farther from the hidden object the other players shout “cold”. This continues until the object is found.
One player is blindfolded and given a short stick or wand. The other players move around her until the blindfolded player taps the stick on the ground three times. At this point all the players stop moving and the blindfolded player points the stick. The player pointed at must grab the other end of the stick and imitate an animal specified by the blindfolded player. The blindfolded player then guesses who is on the other end of her stick. If she guesses wrong then the game starts over again. If she guesses right then the player pointed at is now blindfolded and the game starts again.
All the players stand in a circle with one player in the middle. The player in the middle holds a cane or a long stick (cane size) standing on end. All the other players have a number. Without warning the player in the middle lets go of the cane or stick as she calls out a number. The player with the number called must run into the circle and catch the cane or stick before it hits the ground.
Two parallel boundaries are marked clearly with about forty feet between them. All the players line up along one boundary. One player is “IT” in the middle of the two boundaries. When “IT” yells “go,” all of the players must try to cross to other boundary without being tagged by “IT”. Anyone who is tagged must “freeze.” From that point on those tagged players must help “IT” in also trying to tag the other players while staying in one place. (They are now stationary obstructions.) The last one caught wins and is “IT” for the next game.
This
is my . . .
All the players sit in a circle with one player in the middle. This one person then goes up to someone sitting in the circle and grabs her knee and says, “This is my nose.” The player spoken to must grab hold of her nose and say, “This is my knee,” before the other player counts to five. Any player who answers wrong must be the player in the middle. This game continues with the changing of different body parts and becomes faster and faster.
The players form two teams, the smugglers and the police. The smugglers have a small object, such as a marble, key, or coin. The point of the game is for the smugglers to smuggle the small object past the police to a base or hideout. The smugglers form a huddle and one of them takes the object and hides. The rest of the smugglers now hide. After a few minutes the police start looking for the smugglers. But some of the police should stay back and guard the base. When someone on the police team finds a smuggler, the police player asks, “Are you the smuggler?” If the player found is not the smuggler then she goes free. If the smuggler is found then the object must be given up and the game is over. The smugglers win if the object is smuggled into the base or hideout.
The first player starts off by saying, “One,” the second player says, “Two,” the next says, “Three,” and so on until the number seven is reached. Then instead of saying, “Seven,” the player says, “Buzz.” This continues as each player continues to count up and up and up. “Buzz” is substituted for each multiple of seven and each number containing a seven in it. Whenever a player forgets to say, “Buzz,” she is out of the game.
