These are pictures from the May 2, 1998 "Bird's Nest" event at California Speedway.

Pontiac invited a group of Firebird owners to come see the IROC Firebirds race up close.
Best of all, was that we also got to take our cars on a parade lap around the track prior to the start of the race.

A big THANK YOU goes to Jim Matteson from Pontiac Historic Services and Derek Randles from the So Cal F-Body club for putting the event together and to my camera man Joel McCall for the great pictures.

Some of the finest Firebird's you'll ever see.

Hitting the track.

A look out the back glass from turn 3.

A fleet of 98's with some nice WS6's up front.

The latest and greatest Firebird. The 98 WS6 Ram Air TA.

Hey, that's me with NASCAR driver Ward Burton!

Me again with my 88 GTA and Craig Martin polishing his 97 WS6.

Me and the GTA one more time with Juan Mier's 92 GTA in back.

Hey, who invited that black and white car?

The IROC Firebirds on pit row.

Green, Green, Green!!!

Now that's what I call a garage!

Okay, if I sell everything I can swing this racing thing.

One fast Pontiac!
