BRAIN SYMPTOMS
The symptoms due to direct impact upon the brain range over a continuum. They are listed below in increasing order of severity.
These effects are most probably due to two effects.
(1) Lack of oxygen carrying ability of your red blood cells (RBC). Acetaldehyde locks on to transferrin (oxygen link on the RBC) blocking out the oxygen.
(2) The demand for oxygen by the brain releases the acetaldehyde in the brain (ouch!)(A hypothesis).
Generally getting the toxin load down helps greatly. I seldom have the problem anymore. These statements point out the importance of treating every part of you system to reduce the acetaldehyde load!!!!
There seems to be several mechanism for cramps.
Slow-onset cramps when a muscle is voluntarily contracted. Seems to be caused by a magnesium deficiency.
Slow-onset cramps when the muscle is relaxed, as when in bed for some time. Relieved by taking 100% USRDA of calcium.
Very rapid onset of calf cramps, after the calf has been relaxed for a while, as in bed. These are 100% full contractions, resulting in soreness for a day or two. Prevented by taking potassium.
NON-ACETALDEHYDE
EFFECTS
I have recently (Sept 2002) made observations which appear to indicate non-acetaldehyde effects.
Conclusion: The killing mechanism is different in the two treatment approaches. Because the treatment which releases a lot of acetaldehyde did not produce the side effects, it is assumed that the acetaldehyde does not produce those symptoms. Lotramin or Foot Balm may produce killing with a different mechanism, producing a different mix of toxins, which do produce the symptoms.
