This schedule assumes use in a Christian school. Religion class time would be used for other purposes in a secular school.

Appropriate use, such as library work, mentor elective work, computer lab use for class work, remedial work, advanced studies, self-study (i.e., what used to be called homework).

Locker Training

During the 3rd or the 4th quarter the 8th grade students will be issued book lockers that will be quite close to their room. Between each subject, students will go to their lockers to interchange books and materials. If they forget to get something needed, or are found to have things not related to the material being taught that periods, they are to go to their locker to correct the error, while the entire class waits for them to do so.

If there is a student who habitually messes up, the teaching assistant will accompany the student to their locker to oversee, assess the problem, and to teach the mental algorithms needed.

This Locker Training minimizes the negatives associated with the use of lockers (Time lost in traversing campus, carrying heavy books while some of their bodies are still smaller and weaker). It still accomplishes the goal of creating the habits needed in High School.

aPHd (Advanced Personhood Class)

This class includes the Personhood lessons dealing with motivation, thinking, and wisdom.

When the author was teaching, the principal asked that he try to teach critical thinking. The principal also responded positively when this writer would propose various short presentations that imparted wisdom and motivation. At that time, there was no formalized approach nor time scheduled for these teachings. They need a formal platform.
