Background of
Mr. George R. Andrews

(Also known as Russ)

Some General Comments

He is a very vigorous 66 years of age (2002). He has earned BSE and MSEE degrees from Cal State LA, where he was inducted into 3 scholastic honor societies.

He is retired. His careers, in sequence, have been:

He has always been deeply interested in psychology, philosophy and education. He has taught in several capacities since his teen years.

He loves children, and enjoys working and playing with them.

In 1999 he was invited to teach Computer Literacy at a Christian school where one of his granddaughters attended. He was fully aware of the difficulties our school systems in general were experiencing, some of which were clearly manifested in the granddaughter's school. He wanted to see first hand, from the inside, what was going on.

He brought to teaching a lifelong practiced ability to analyze and think rationally (see Thinking pages). He is a highly experienced observer of physical systems, organizations, and of individuals. He loves to dig beneath the surface to understand the fundamentals which are driving the situation. In all of his teaching experiences, he has been able to quickly and accurately diagnose student problems, and use corrective mechanism which worked.

While he is not trained at a teacher's college, his teaching was recognized as of very high quality, and produced good results. In fact, coming into a teaching position without the biases of a formal teaching education may well be a major advantage. It seems to be! He can look at situations from a fresh perspective, not biased by all the latest fads and fights within the educational system.

He continues to read in the field of education, and follows its progress closely.
