What do You Do if you
Don’t Like to be Told What To Do?

People don’t like to be bossed around. Kids are no different. Everyone tends to resist being told what to do. We will even turn away from what we are told to do, and ignore it or do the opposite! We may do this just so we will feel WE are in control. We want to be our own boss! There is a different, and better, way to be in control.

Here is what I do.

I want to improve in everything I do. I want to be the highest quality person I can be. I know that I am not the only smart person on earth. Other people can have ideas and methods that I have not thought of. I have my eyes and ears open for ideas and methods that can make me better than I am now.
I look for them.

When a thought or idea comes my way, I tend to look at it. I might say, “Hey, that’s a good idea! It will help me reach my goal of improving myself. I choose to take that idea and make it part of me!"

Note the very major difference in choosing ideas and methods in contrast to having ideas and methods forced upon you (i.e. being told what to do!). Choosing is a positive idea. Forcing is a negative idea.

If you have a mindset to actively look for useable and useful ideas, then it doesn’t matter to you who created that good stuff, or the circumstance of learning it. It doesn’t matter if you created the idea all by yourself, or if you were ordered to do it! In either case, if it is a positive idea, if it will help you be better, then you should want to take that idea and make it your own. When you choose to make the idea your own, then YOU ARE TAKING CONTROL away from the person who is ordering you to do it!

Think about it. Neither the origin of an idea nor the way it has come to you can effect the value of that idea!

Doesn't this make GOOD  SENSE?
