"Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen"

I used this in class to reinforce the goal toward which we (teachers and students) should be working.

"Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen!

(Stage whisper:) "Why is he calling us that? We are not grown up yet!"

"I call you that to remind you that you should be working to become ladies and gentlemen.

"In its best sense, the way I use it, that phase indicates that you are - - - educated, refined, polite, respectful, and very capable persons. You are admired for your accomplishments. Your Goal is to do good in the world!
