We continue (from 7th grade) to look seriously at thinking skills,
philosophy, social skills, and wisdom. Most lessons have elements of
several of these.

Critical thinking is only partially covered in these two years. There are 35 tenants involved in critical thinking, and we do not have enough time to adequately teach them all. These lessons were selected as probably the most beneficial.
Teachers: This writer expects that some of the students will be very interested in the essays, and will want to read ahead. Of course this should be encouraged! You may wish to create masters of all the handouts before the class begins, and have them copied and bound into booklets to hand out on the first day of class. Do not include those to be handed back in.
