Class Time
Introduction
We will now look at egocentricity in more detail.
We will look at defining characteristics. This information was taken
from the web site for the "Critical Thinking Consortium."
Again, if you find that you do egocentric
thinking, see me privately for help. It can be fixed.
Relevancy
Again, we want to develop our brains so as to be
capable. That means we need to recognize egocentricity in ourselves
and avoid that thinking style should it try to occur. If our brains
think well and accurately, we will be generally more capable, and
better respected.
Presentation
You will be working in teams of 2 or 3 students. I
will hand out sheets with team member names and a set of
instructions, and a sheet of questions.
Five minutes before the end of class remind
groups who are not finished that they need to now plan when and where
they will work outside of class to finish the
assignment.
