Welcome. This site is dedicated to the memory of
Major Donald E. Adams, Korean War Ace.

The purpose of this project is to create an historical reference to Major Adams and remember the bravery and heroism that awarded him the lauded Distinguished Flying Cross and Silver Star medals.
Flying the F-86, Major Adams became America's thirteenth Jet Ace, scoring 6.5 Mig's in Korea. During his career he served as a fighter and exhibition pilot, a flight instructor, and squadron commander. He was also credited with downing four enemy planes in WW2 while flying the P51 Mustang.
Major Adams was tragically killed while demonstrating the speed and aeronautics of the ill fated F-89 Scorpion at an exhibition in Detroit, Michigan, August 31,1952. He was survived by his wife, Mary Lewark Adams, and their four children, Don Jr., Katie, Steve and Mark. He was 32 years old.
Please enjoy exploring this site and learn about a true American hero. Included is a published newspaper reference and links to USAF and related sites of Korean War Aces.
