In Celtic mythology, crows carry the spirits of the dead between the land of the dead and that of the living.
Moira Blaise is one of my Dark Ages Vampire characters. Born in Ireland, crows found themselves unnaturally attracted
to her and would gather on her window sill and roof. It seems that she was a waypoint, visible from both plains; a marker
the crows would use in their duty of ferrying souls. Her parents kept her hidden for fear that she would be identified
as some sort of witch. Then she began to see the dead. As the effect became more pronounced, fearing for
themselves, her parents resolved to be rid of the girl, but she realized what was going on and left of her own accord
before harm could come to her.
In the wild she encountered a gangrel vampire who recognized her potential due to the strange affinity with birds and
turned her into a vampire.
