History

In February, 2002 the Caledonia Club of Greater Bloomington held its inaugural Burns Dinner.  This successful event was followed in April by activities to celebrate Tartan Day.  A presentation was made on courthouse square in Bloomington, followed by a Forfar Bridie luncheon and participation in the annual Tartan Day gathering at College Mall.

On May 13, 2002, a club planning meeting was held.  17 attendees elected officers, planned for future meetings, and voted to give this group a new name:

The Scottish Society of Greater Bloomington
