~~ In this visionary work—a novella and a collection of new prose and poetry—the author takes us on a dark but ultimately redemptive flight into the landscapes of human folly. Rendered in a lush, rhythmic voice, these writings are a ragged and gorgeous cry against the modern emptiness, laying open the heart with images at once hallucinatory, compassionate, brutal, and true.

There ought to be a clause in the Patriot Act against being this brilliant this young.
—Ainsley Burrows
Writer/Poet

~~

Simone allows himself the dangerous luxury of using a poetic narrative in writing about the beautiful struggle that defines the journey between life and death, while refusing to rely on convention. He forces us to question whether we can foster human dignity without a merciful spirit.
