Normally the Secretary of the Navy would forward these type of correspondence to the Marine Corps for direct reply. However, we have not received a tasker from the Navy on this case. In the event that we do, we would reply in the same manner as the reply that we will be preparing.In advance, I would think that the Commandant of the Marine Corps would not endorse your request without evidence that there was an administrative error. Additionally there should be an endorsement from the originator of the award recommendation or anyone in the chain of command who endorsed the award, and a recommendation from the Secretary of the Army.
