HasselbladHasselblad Repair Manuals
*Hasselblad Film Magazine Repair Manual*
I am offering for sale a "REAL" repair manual for the Hasselblad film
magazines A12, A16, A24, and A32, not
a so called exploded view repair manual you will find offered by others.
Exploded view manuals are useless
to most people. This manual is very easy to use and understand, and you can save
yourself hundreds of dollars
in magazine repairs. This manual is a step by step manual that anyone can
understand and use to save some
money on Hasselblad film magazine repairs. A repair manual such as this, is
available no other place in the
world, as these are closely held secrets of the repair trade.
The reason I wrote this manual is that I saw too many people being cheated
by the so called good repair shops. To
charge $85/$125 for a 3 minute repair job is not fair in my book, and
I am trying to stop it. This booklet is an effort to
save people money on their repairs, and also save them the all the
time that is involved. In most cases, it is just a
matter of putting some oil in the proper place, or a small adjustment
here or there. You will more than save the price
of this booklet on your first magazine repair, and believe me; sooner
or later you are going to need that repair. I can
furnish many emails from satisfied people (see below for a few of the
quotes) that have purchased this booklet at full
price. One thing that I can do, which you will find nowhere else, is
be on call for you. I can be either called, or
emailed, to answer any questions you may have.
This booklet covers the complete disassembly and reassembly of the magazines,
plus a trouble shooting guide that
will take you through 99 percent of all the problems you will ever
encounter with a film magazine. In most cases, very
little disassembly and very little time is required to make these fixes.
The booklet contains 24 photos, and takes you
step by step through the repair process. The only tools required are
a good set of screw drivers, some oil, needle
nose pliers, a tweezers and a syringe. I take you through the repairs,
screw by screw, step by step. This booklet
makes the repairs so easy that a small child could do the repairs.
Included in this manual are step by step instructions
on how to convert an A12 film magazine into an A24 film magazine, and
how to convert an A16 film magazine into an
A32 film magazine. It is very simple to do, and when finished will
be a full factory spec A24 or A32. The magazine
conversion will require about $70 in parts from Hasselblad USA in NJ.
This booklet makes things so simple, that a 5
year old could make most of the repairs on Hasselblad film magazines.
Further, I give you instructions on making and
installing your own trap seals. For the price of one set of seals from
Hasselblad, I show you how you can make
hundreds of seals for the same money.
Some of the problems covered in the manual are as follows
"My film is fogged, what shall I do and how shall I do it?"
"For about the same price as one trap seal set from Hasselblad, I show you how to make literally hundreds of them."
"I load the film and crank the crank, but the counter will not stop at number one. The counter dial just keeps turning."
"After shooting a few frames, my camera magazine jams up."
"Overlapping of film frames."
"Yikes, my winding crank is too loose or it just came off the magazine."
"My magazine is winding the film for 2/3 frames and then it will not wind the film anymore. What can I do?"
"My magazine is overlapping on the first and second frames."
"My leather is coming loose or is peeling off."
Here are some comments from people who have purchased this manual:
"Thank you. I can't tell you how much money I have saved with the magazine
repair manual."......"I can honestly say
that the money was more than well spent, and I'm looking forward to getting into
working on some backs"....."I have
purchased the manual for back repairs and conversion and it is WONDERFUL! Where
was Mr._____all this time? It
is amazing how simple it is to put your back in order without paying those
ridiculous prices service shops charge. I
can't wait to see the body and lens repair booklet he is writing!"......"Thank
you very much for writing this manual.
You have saved me hundreds of dollars in repair bills, and I am sure it will
save me hundreds in the future"......" The
booklet arrived yesterday and appears to be very helpful"......"your booklet is
not only saving me money, but helping
me to make some as well"......"looks easy to use, thanks for the fast
shipping"......"If people want a reference from
someone who bought your Magazine Repair Manual, you have one here. I fixed two
this weekend, all they needed
was a CLA"......"People will start maintenance of their own cameras, and people
like Hasselblad service will be
scratching their heads as to where all the business went. They would perhaps
come to their senses and lower their
prices"......" I bought one of Mr._____ books a couple of years ago. It is a
Hasselblad film magazine
"Godsend!"......"Anybody who needs to send a back in for repair, should buy this
book at once, and forever more
fix their own magazines, and be done with it, in, at the *most*, a few hours,
rather than a few weeks, that always seem
to stretch into months"......" I would like to share my experience on the
following matter; I posted a question on this
forum about the problem I had with one of my A12 magazines. A gentleman called
Mr._____ replied offering to
guide me through the process, as it was fairly easy, according to him. I
exchanged several emails and since we both
live in LA, we decided to meet, so that I could purchase his manual that he
personally wrote on maintenance of
Hasselblad magazines. Now, you all know that when you buy a Hasselblad back,
over the years you buy at least
another one in repairs, light trap foam exchanges etc. This man, Mr._____ has
all of that covered in his easy to read
and understand manual. I made the problem on my magazine go away in 5 minutes!
And I never opened a camera before. This
manual covers all possible problems you could have with your magazine, light
trap foam replacement, making hundreds of
foams and foils for the price of one that Hasselblad sells, and, *CONVERTING*
your A12 into a factory spec, A24,
or an A16 to a full factory spec A32!!! I really hope you have found this
useful, and if you need Mr._____ contact
information, reply to this forum, and he will contact you. I know he is
monitoring and contributing to this user
group"......"I have purchased one of these manuals and couldn't be happier with
it. So far, I have managed to put 2 of
my backs back into service and am seriously thinking of attempting an A12 to A24
conversion, just for the heck of it.
Mr._____ is currently working on a body repair and lens/shutter repair booklet.
I think it will cover the all model
bodies and lenses. I can't wait for it to be out. It's so much fun to be able to
fix your own camera. A cost effective,
too!"......"Very quick service, and a nice product!"......"I have both
Mr._____Magazine and Body repair manuals,
and all I can say that they are wonderful texts for anyone who owns this camera
and wants to avoid paying ridiculous
prices for their maintenance. The way Mr._____explains things in his manual is
straight forward and easy to both
understand, and apply in practice, so that even someone who is not a camera
technician can easily do it. There are no
mystifications about *special tools* or other devices needed. Hasselblad is, in
fact a very simple camera to repair if
you know the right procedure, the right way to diagnose the problem, isolate it,
and that's where Mr._____manuals
cut in, straight to the point! I myself, and I am sure all of you share my
enthusiasm. I can't wait for the lens repair
manual to come out (and I think Mr._____is preparing it for this summer), to
complete this wonderful trilogy. There
will be nothing else a Hasselblad owner would need in order to have his
equipment in perfect working order all the
time. I had the privilege to meet Mr._____personally, and talk to him about
Hasselblad repair. All I can say is that
indeed, it was a great privilege".

I am offering a "REAL" repair manual for the Hasselblad camera bodies. This

impressed with the manual for the body- it covers all the common
problems-I fixed the hanging curtain problem and even revived the mirror
pre-fire on an old body I got at eBay-$60
seemed like a lot for five pages but you saved me $150-and I know its done
right-That Hassy body has got to be the

Some of the problems covered in the body repair manual are:

"What to do if I have a body jam?"
"My mirror prerelease does not work"
"One of my rear curtains (usually the top curtain) is hanging down"
"How do I change the mirror damper foam (at top of body) and what do I use to
replace it?"
"What to do about a bad damper?"
"What to do if my camera body does not have the same snap as it once had?"
"Where are the lube points in my body?"
"How do I change the screen in my 500C or 500EL?"
"What to do if I have one of the so called interim bodies?"
"How do I prepare my body to be sold?"

*Hasselblad Lens Repair Manual*
I am offering a "REAL" repair manual for the Hasselblad "C" type lenses. If you
have CF or CFi lenses, don't be
scared away, as the "C" lenses are very similar. This manual is not
one of the so
called exploded view repair
manuals offered by others. The manual is very easy to use and
understand. You can save yourself hundreds
of dollars in lens repairs. This booklet is an effort to save people money on
their lens repairs, and also save them
all the time that is involved. The repairs are really, very simple to do. In
most cases, it is just a matter of putting some
oil in the proper place, or a small adjustment here or there. A repair manual
such as this, is available no other place in
the world, as these are closely held secrets of the repair trade. The manual is
illustrated with 17 different photo's, and
it covers the following:
1. The disassembly of the lens such that the slow speed gear train can be
lubricated.
2. How to replace the lens main spring.
3. How to replace the flash sync.
4. How to clean and relube the focus ring helicoids.
5. How to clean oily shutter blades without taking the lens all apart.
6. How to take care of a slow sticky shutter without taking the lens apart. A
WOW NEAT TRICK that I accidentally
stumbled across a few years ago!! :)

*Hasselblad Lens Shutter Repair Manual*
This manual is direct from Hasselblad and contains step by step instructions on the repair of the Compur shutters in the Zeiss/Hasselblad Lenses (you will find that the Prontor shutters are very similar-if you can repair one, you can repair the other). The manual also includes all the shutter part numbers. I had a Hasselblad franchise for about 10 years, and with a great deal of difficulty, I was able to obtain this manual from the Hasselblad repair department. This manual will be a photocopy of the original. There are about a dozen pages that are 2nd generation copies, therefore, they are not the best copies, but this manual is a very, very, useable manual-in fact, you will find it a real "life saver" on lens shutter repairs. The manual is 99 pages in length.
The price of the Lens Shutter Repair Manual is $60 plus shipping (Shipping Cart at bottom of this page).

This manual is direct from Hasselblad and contains step by step

body repair manual. I had a Hasselblad franchise for about 10 years, and with a
great deal of difficulty, I was able
to obtain this manual from the Hasselblad repair department. This manual will be
a photocopy of the original. The
manual is 95 pages in length.
