SPORTSMAN’S

FESTIVAL

Please, join us November 14, 9am-3pm, in downtown Warrenton, GA for our 16th Annual Sportsman’s Festival. It is gearing up to be bigger than last year and fun for the entire family!

Come meet the legendary OKEFENOKEE JOE, The Snake Educator and "Swampwise" Star, who will be onsite, near the Welcome Booth, all day long. He’ll be performing his "Earth Day Every Day" shows at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, and he will also be available for autographs and photos.

We will also have live entertainment with Harmon Koeltz, Pat Walsh and Christian Baggett. The Freeman Singers will be performing as well.

The Car Cruise-In will fill the Courthouse Square during the entire festival, and door prizes will be given away to participants there. To reserve a spot for your classic car, please call Andrew Coard at 706.465.2198.

The Welcome Booth and stage are planned to be set up near the tennis courts. At the booth, raffle tickets and t-shirts will be on sale. This year’s gun, donated by the Warren Co. Chamber of Commerce and on display at Wheeler’s True Value Hardware, is a Marlin XL7C, 270 Caliber Realtree Camo. Tickets are set to be on sale beginning September 1st and may be purchased for $1 OR 6 for $5 at Wheeler’s, Miss Jane’s, the Chamber office or from Chamber/BHT board members. The winner of the gun must be 18 years old or older, and you do not have to be present to win when the raffle is drawn at 2:15 pm. The 50/50 raffle tickets may also be purchased for $1 at the above locations. The winner of the 50/50 raffle must be present at the festival at 2:15 pm to win. T-shirts will be on sale for $10 and $15 at the Welcome Booth.

Commercial vendors will be set up along South Norwood Street. If you are interested in renting booth space, please call 706.465.9604 or visit us online at www.warrencountyga.com and download or print an application. We are especially seeking hunting and/or fishing vendors, but other vendors will be considered. Food vendors will be set up on Edward Ricketson, Jr Street, and the Kid’s Carnival will be set up in City Park.

WTHO’s Steve Ferguson will be broadcasting live from the festival from 8-10am as the vendors set up, and the festival gets underway. We are seeking live entertainers to perform on the Depot stage throughout the festival day. Please, call 706.465.9604 to reserve a time slot for your choir, band or other brand of entertainment.

At 2:30pm, the Turkey Shoot and Big Buck Contest, sponsored by Old Anderson Plantation, will take place at The Country Club on East Warrenton Road. Bring your buck, killed on November 14th, 2009, to The Country Club on East Warrenton Road to be scored. Call George Langford at 706-840-3174 for details. A prize will be awarded to the deer that scores the highest. Turkey Shoot for all ages starting at 2:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded on each shoot.
