DEFINITIONS
CPM is a nationally certified direct-entry midwife who has proven competency and validated experience in the out-of-hospital
setting. This credential is administered by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM). http://www.narm.org
MEAC is a U.S. Dept. of Education recognized accreditation agency that provides guidance, evaluation and accreditation
of midwifery schools so that midwifery students receive high quality education. http://www.meacschools.org
NARM North American Registry of Midwives administers the CPM certification.
