As far back as I can remember, I have had an appreciation
for nature. As an artist and musician, I have drawn upon my experiences with nature to fuel my creativity.
I love birds, especially songbirds. I got tired of walking into
store after store and looking at the sorry excuses for birdhouses being sold ... the hastily made, production-line fabricated,
cheaply produced items left little to be desired. Simply put: These products offered no true benefits for the
birds themselves.
I vowed to make the world a better place for songbirds.
The Bird Homes I create are made of top-grade California
redwood, with stainless steel finishing nails, and often incorporate refurbished, antique hardware ~ protectively
coated metals and solid brass. The wood is also treated externally with a safe, non-toxic, natural oil to enhance
its luster and create a water-resistant surface.
The entrance holes diameters are 1 1/8" and 1 1/4", allowing
access for a variety of cavern-dwelling songbirds throughout the world. Recently, I have begun production on bluebird homes
that have a 1 1/2" diameter entrance hole. The antique escutcheons and other metal hardware that frame the entrances
are not only decorative; they provide protection from unwanted avian species or predators from enlarging the entrance.
Each Bird Home I create is equipped with mounting hardware
for hassle-free hanging. Each one has been signed and dated with a burning stylus. Attention to every detail is
my primary concern when creating these unique homes. Although I like to create them as efficiently as possible, production
time varies from piece to piece and takes as long as it needs. I think you will agree that the care I take creating each one
is time well spent. After all, my name is on them.
