Ever since George Bush demonized the word liberal by referring to it as the l-word,conservatives have been acting like being a liberal is something to be ashamed  of, but I for one am proud to be defined (to quote my American Heritage Dictionary) as  "free from bigotry..open to new ideas...tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others,  broad-minded."
