Notes on plastic aircraft models:

As you can see, there are few plastic models of aircraft that are sold as models of USCG aircraft. However, many of the aircraft that the USCG flew are available in USN or USAF versions. This is especially true of aircraft from the 1940s. For example, the USCG flew PBY Catalinas. There are many Catalina models on the market, in a variety of scales, but none come with USCG decals. USCG decals are available for a surprising array of USCG subjects at better hobby shops. For example, I found a set of pre-war USCG decals to use on the Airfix J2F Duck.

Also, the Aviation Workshop (an Australian outfit)  makes both  decal sheets and conversion kits. A conversion kit usually contains USCG decals for the aircraft, plus the necessary parts to convert a model into the USCG version. You can convert a Navy SH-60 into an HH-60J, or an Air Force H-3E into an HH-3F Pelican.   I am trying to find a dealer that stocks these Australian imports.

Another great source for conversion parts is the Cobra Company – they make a conversion
