It all started on March 13, 1977. Bill Higdon and Debi West were joined in Holy Matrimony in Chattanooga Tennessee. Bill was working for the City of Chattanooga, Human Services Dept. Debi was employed at Olin Mills.

Bill took his life saving and with the help of investors, started a small alarm monitoring company in Dalton Ga. Debi did the bookkeeping and helped with the monitoring. Monitoring alarms is a 24hr a day business. Bill marketed the service during the day and monitored at night. The business thrived, and then the recession hit.... Chad Higdon, the first born, arrived on the scene on January 25, 1979. With a new born son, a 24hr a day business was impossible to manage, the decision was made to close the business. Bill, Deb and now Chad moved back to Chattanooga to figure out the next move.

Todd Higdon, arrived on May 6, 1981, about 6 months before the move to Texas.

The Higdons arrived in Texas in February of 1982.

Bill, started working for an old competitor, ADT Security Systems as a comercial sale representative. Debi was able to stay home, take care of Chad and Todd.

After, several promotions and moves around the state. The Higdons landed in Austin, Texas.

Bill & Debi both work for a computer manufacturer in Austin. Chad works part-time when not attending school and Todd is a full time student.

So, thats the long and short of it.....how the Tennessee Hillbillys ended up in Texas. We were a little late for the Alamo, but we have had to fight a few battles....Mainly the growing traffic problems in Austin.

The Higdons
