    I have no evidence for this marriage other than a suspicion it comes from the Ostlund GEDCOM. There is a lot of confusion WRT Johann Biermacher's marriages. The 1880 Census lists a "Catherine", born in Prussia of Prussian parents (which information is compatible with Katharina Krouse. The ages of the children is compatible with the Ostlund date of Katharina's marriage. However, all these children on the Census are listed as having a mother born in France -- I have no information regarding Kate Shoemaker's history. It may be that the Ostlund date for Katharina belongs to Kate, and the Census Catherine is the second marriage..
