My name's Susan and this is my first posting. I'm 26 and play bass in a band with my best friend. We're still looking for the perfect drummer - I think we've gone through everyone we know in Victoria and Vancouver - and we're still searching. If any of you know anyone (male or female) in this part of the world who plays drums, please let me know. I finally saw s-k play in Vancouver a few weeks ago. It was amazing. Most of my friends had seen them play before at various shows in Washington, etc., but I've either been travelling somewhere else or unable to take the time off from work. I got to see them twice since they played at a bar and then did an all-ages show the next day. Even with all that I'd built up in my mind, the show completely surpassed all my expectations. They said they had a great time in Van and are hoping to come back. Carrie said they were planning on doing a month-long tour (I don't know if that was just Canada or Canada-US tour). She mentioned wanting to play out in Toronto and that area. My roommate's just opening a record store here and he's hoping to get them to come over if they come to Van again - he's wanting to use the other half of the location for shows. One of my friends is very into photography and she's taken a bunch of photos of s-k shows if anyone's interested. I'm sure she could do up some more copies if anyone wants a photo of the band or favorite member. I haven't seen the ones from the Vancouver shows, but the ones for Yo-Yo are pretty good - I can't believe I had to miss that festival. Gotta go - and hey, if anyone makes it over to Victoria, you should check out Ditch Records - I just had to make a plug. Hopefully it'll be around for awhile.
