(set list is at the end of this post) Wasn't the best s-k show I've seen. It's a total of five now. I think part of the reason is that the audience wasn't the best. People were throwing things on stage. Janet got up and lectured some people in the audience (I say lecture, because she was over there for a good 30 seconds to one minute). I was standing on Carrie's side of the stage, so I couldn't hear what Janet was saying. After Janet's "lecture", Carrie said "see, that's why Janet's in the band." A lot of people were moshing and, at one point, Carrie said to "stop bumping into each other". That might have been what Janet was lecturing about. The acoustics weren't bad where I was standing (and it's hard to have good sound at La Luna). They played loud and played hard. I was also much closer to the stage than I usually am. I can't put my finger on what I didn't like about the show. Some little "stories": Corin said it was the one year anniversary of Janet being with the band. Of course, everyone cheered. Someone threw something at the stage, during the encores; and, it came really close to hitting Janet. Two people came up on stage and danced during "Little Babies". One of them was my sister's friend, Bridget, by the way. THEY PLAYED A NEW SONG -- POSSIBLY TWO. In addition to the new song (that Corin said they just wrote) that they played one or two songs after "Call the Doctor", they played another song I didn't recognize. It could be on Villa Villakula, because I don't have that. The song after "Call the Doctor", though, was one that Corin said "we just wrote that". Set List: Fall Song (??I think I recognize it by now); Dig Me Out; It's Enough; I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone; One More Hour; Turn it On; Heart Factory; Call the Doctor; new song; Anonymous; Words & Guitar; ???; Little Mouth; Little Babies Encores: Stay Where You Are; Hubcap; Be Yr Mama The Need was good. I wasn't too into Bangs, though. I saw The Need at a Bikini Kill show in 1995 at the City Club, here in Portland. They sound much more like Bratmobile now, than they did then. Genevieve and Eva: I hope you guys had a good time. Welcome to the great Northwest, Genevieve. --------------- END wordsandguitar.v001.n021 --------------- @*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@*@* This list owned and maintained by bgrrrl.
