I know for a fact that she paid rolling stone for that four star review have you heard of payola ? yeah it is real & welcome to the world. also pls note that molly formerly of bratmobile went to LA for a "secret audition" to be the new hole drummmer. That's right people she decided to do it when she found out how much money she was gonna be paid. Wooo hooo lookout ! Also C.Love is gonna play janis joplin in a new movie for seven million dolllars plus ten per cent. Who wants to listen to her fucken records under these pretenses ? It is all about power & control. I think it is one of the most beautiful albums out there. Instead of screaming out of her mind and kicking some ass Courtney and the band matured. This will not be an album for you if you want to hear lots of angry screaming. I mean I love when courtney screams, but it is going to be lame if the whole band creates another Live Through This. I must say there are lame songs " Awful" "Heaven Tonight" and "Hit So Hard" . They sound way to much like they belong on a pop album. The much more mature sound comes up in songs like "Reasons To Be Beautiful" , "Dying", "Use Once and Destroy" "Petals" and I'm still debating on what to think of "Boys On The Radio"....its good but not their best. Hole sounds like the Live Through This we have begun to know in "Playing Your Song". I'm not sure whether or not it seems that people like it because Courtney say "Fucking" or because they think it is well put together which it is. I must say that if you do not like the song "Northern Star" you have no taste in music because that is probably one of the best songs by Hole ever. It almost made me cry when i heard it because it is so beautiful. The timpani and strings just are so perfect. It is a very emotional song. If you are ready to mosh, don't buy the album because you will not like it. But if you are looking for a good emotional album get it now. I was so surprised when i heard how much the band has grown. Patty was kicked out? When? All i heard was that she went into rehab. If she was kicked out for drugs then obviously there was a large problem. As I said and the band has said they have matured and just because Courtney may have had problems in the past don't blame her for Patty being a drug addict or her leaving of the band. lepainperdu --------------- MESSAGE wordsandguitar.v001.n331.4 --------------- From: rahrahreplica Subject: Elliott Shows Date: Wed, 09 Sep 1998 18:54:11 -0700 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit References: <199809100010.RAA07205@lists1.best.com> > I have these dates for Quasi/Elliott Smith > subject to change--check the venue: > > September > 16 Seattle Showbox > 18 Portland La Luna > 19 San Francisco 7th Note > 20 San Francisco 7th Note I'll be at these four shows.
