Ok, > really, that's it, that finishes off the songs he'd played that I didn't > know. =) Again -- just reading bits and pieces of the Digest. Way too much other stuff going on right now. I saw post from one of my favorite list people, Marie, so stopped to read it. "So Tired" is a John Lennon cover. --janice --------------- MESSAGE wordsandguitar.v001.n325.5 --------------- From: the hopeless unbeliever Subject: Re: Digest wordsandguitar.v001.n324 Date: Thu, 3 Sep 1998 12:00:48 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII In-Reply-To: <199809030610.XAA10999@lists1.best.com> > From: Sonic1979X@aol.com > im totaly ready to do a site for everyone..and with my designing quirks, i can > make it really interesting..any one go? This just makes me think... Why not have a permanent, all-encompassing website with pics of people from this wonderful list? The Nirvana list I'm on has one called the Mugshots page, and it has the picture, then next to it a li'l blurb from the person with a link to thier email or website, etc. I'm not sure who could do this, or if anyone would want to, but it would make doing these road trips easier cuz they'd always be there, and it would be more for everyone on the list and not just those going on the road trip. Just a thought... I'm going to ticketmaster in a minute to check everything out. I really dislike them though :-p I got my tickets to see Elliott & Quasi at Tramps! If anyone has this and wants to sell it, I'll pay well for it. Alex is still pondering whether he wants to sell his personal copy. Also, if anyone's going to Bumbershoot (I'll be there), remember to go the the One Reel Film Festival. It's really good every year. I completely agree, Jimmy. >>on an unrelated note. often on the list we talk about female band. > besides the recent talk of elliot smith what other male artists do you > like?? There's lots of good boy bands out there. I really like Modest Mouse, Silver Scooter, Wolfie, Guided by Voices, Thee Headcoats, Neutral Milk Hotel, tons more. Also old boy bands like Ramones, Sex Pistols, Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Beatles, Ramones, Steely Dan, Police, Elvis Costello. I don't want to bring up the old Courtney/Hole-bashing thing, but, as much as I hate to admit it, "Celebrity Skin" is a really good song. It's catchy, stays on the brain, good lyrics, good music. I don't know how the girl does it (well, with a little help with her friends), but she writes some damn good songs. --janice --------------- MESSAGE wordsandguitar.v001.n325.10 --------------- From: Susan Farmer of AG 387-1866 Subject: Olympia - Sept.19 Date: Thu, 03 Sep 1998 17:03:31 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; CHARSET=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7BIT Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows of anything going on in Olympia on the night of Sept. 19 (Saturday).
