RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Minutes for the Village of Beverly Board of Public Affairs Regular Meeting Held May 17, 2006
The regular meeting of the Village of Beverly Board of Public Affairs was held Wednesday May 17, 2006 at 5:00 P.M. with Board President Tammy Bates presiding. Members Bernard Clark and Jim Ullman were present; Fiscal Officer Larry Kitts, Board of Public Affairs Clerk Karla Lewis, Supervisor of Services Sam Brooker, and Ralph Mohr were also present. Minutes from the April 21, 2006 Board of Public Affairs Regular Meeting were read and approved.
Old Business: The casing and screen for the new well is scheduled to be installed and the well completed the 18th of May. Brooker and Jarvis will take the water test for EPA licensing purposes the 23rd of May. Mohr and Brooker reported the respective seminars attended were productive and worthwhile. If no action is taken on the delinquent bills of Janette Miller and James Cain, the village will proceed with shut off of services. The payment drop box has been installed and the high speed internet service is to be included in the telephone upgrade for the village offices.
Water Clerk’s Report and Bill Adjustments: Lewis reported the water usage at the pool renovation and Waterford Twp. Building were not metered or billed. It was decided the water for the pool renovation would be minimal and the village would assume the cost. The Township Building has not historically been billed due minimal usage and providing essential EMS service to the village.
Supervisor of Services Report: Brooker reported an evaluation would have to be made on the installation of the tap for Sue Hart since the line was not on her property and the size of the line was unknown. Brooker also reported the fire hydrants on Woodland Ave. and Park St. by Doug Stephens’s property would be replaced.
Operator's Report: Operator Ralph Mohr’s report stated 4,810,000 gallons of water were pumped in April for an average of 160,000 gallons per day. There were no violations to report. 2nd quarter sampling for Well #4: Tetrachloroethene is 19.4 ug/l, this is up from the 1st quarter which was 15.6 ug/l. Yearly sampling for the Entry Point: Tetrachloroethene is, .05 ug/l, Nitrate is 5.10 mg/l, this is down from last year which was 6.60 mg/l and Pentachlorophenol is 0.03 ug/l. 5,984,000 gallons of wastewater were treated for an average of 199,000 gallons daily (66.5% by design). There were no days that the 300,000 gallon design limit was exceeded. Rainfall for April was 4.191 inches. No violations were reported for this month.
New Business & Correspondence: None
Bills: Bills were presented and discussed. Clark moved to approve payment of the bills, Ullman seconded the motion, motion approved by acclamation. Each member then initialed the vouchers. The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday June 28, 2006 at 5:00 P.M. With no further business to come before the Board the meeting was adjourned.
