RECORD OF ORDINANCES

 Ordinance No. 06-10 - Passed April 12, 2006

 

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING VILLAGE PERSONNEL TO SIGN CHECKS, CONTRACTS AND OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS FOR THE VILLAGE OF BEVERLY.

 

WHEREAS, Council of the Village of Beverly desires to have two (2) signatures on all checks issued by the Village of Beverly and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the Fiscal Officer and the Mayor, or in lieu of his absence for reasons cited in the Ohio Revised Code. (i.e. resignation, business out of town, etc.) the President of Council to sign checks and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the President of Council to sign any other official documents in lieu of the Mayor’s absence.

 

NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the Village of Beverly, County of Washington, State of Ohio, as follows:

 

             SECTION 1: Council authorizes the Fiscal Officer and the Mayor to sign all checks for

             the Village of Beverly. All checks must have both signatures or the President of Council

in lieu of the Mayor’s absence from office of inability to perform his duties.

 

SECTION 2: Council authorizes the President of Council to sign checks and official

             documents for the Village of Beverly in lieu of the Mayor’s absence from his office, due

             to his inability to perform his duties or in the event of his resignation until a new

mayor is appointed or elected.

 

SECTION 3:  An emergency exists effecting the public health, safety and general

Welfare of the citizens of the Village of Beverly, and that this Ordinance shall

take effect and be in force immediately upon passage and replaces any ordinance in kind

to authorization of personnel signatures.
