Introduction
NovaNET computer programs for high school curricula may be used, under direction of a certified teacher at PHUHS and
with the approval of Guidance and Administration, to retake a failed course or to improve the final grade.
Students
attend a class temporarily identified as"Research" in the NovaNET lab at a specific class period to work on their identifed
course on a computer. Students in the class may be working on different courses within the same Research class, and an individual
student who finishes one course may then begin another.
In addition, if a student wishes to recover credits as well as replace a failed grade, the student may, by working
at her/his own pace, accomplish more than one course during a semester, thus gaining a half-credit for the period (in my case,
5th) and an additional haf-credit for a second completed course.
Six Weeks Grades will be Pass/Fail since each student
works at his/her individual pace. If a course is still in process at the end of one semester, the accomplished work may be
rolled over to the next semester.
However, progress reports will be emailed home if an email address has been provided. during
each 6 weeks showing progress on the student's particular course, and a final report for each course will be emailed
as well.
Graduation cannot occur, however, until the course is complete and the Final Exam has been taken and passed
with a B.
In some cases, there are off-line assignments to be completed. These will either be handed out by the individual
instructor or posted to this website or both.
