TRANSLATING the Discipline Plan
TRANSLATING the Discipline
Plan
RULES: 1. Thumper's
father's rule: ("If you can't say sumthin' nice, don't say nuthin' at all") 2. Be there before the bell
stops ringing 3. Talk politely 4. Bring what you need & Do the job 5. Stay out of Ms. Baze's situations with
others 6. Don't babble or distract 7. Treat people, computers, & other equipment with tender concern 8. Do
what the BOARD says you gotta do
NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES: I try to avoid unpleasantness whenever
possible. My first choice is to give you a friendly reminder. Then you do what I request --which usually means stop whatever
you're doing & do whatever you're supposed to. End of situation. If our relationship inteferes with class routine,
I may ask you to "Take Five" minutes on the porch to give us a break ( I can't leave.) For dumb stuff, especially if you
don't quit when I first ask you, we'll get a chance to talk about it while you serve some time. If you're being really
obnoxious or won't participate on my terms, I'm going to ask you if you'd rather just cut to the chase & ask for a discipline
referral. (I hope you decide not to.)
EXCEPTIONS: You see your administrator without passing GO or
collecting $200 1. If you break one of the big ones. 2. If you endanger people or equipment. 3. If you keep others
from being able to work. 4. If you aggrevate me too much.
NOTE FOR A REALLY BAD DAY: If Freddy
has been chasing you since early morning and the nightmare just keeps getting worse . . . Let me know, preferably before
class starts. Sometimes we can work out a routine for the day that gives us both minimum hassle.
POSITIVE
CONSEQUENCES: We get along great You have a good time You get good grades & learn a lot
