Anthology of a Berea Building
 Front & Church Streets
 Louise Allen

In the 1890s the General Hotel was located at the corner of Front and Church Streets. In 1914 Art Martin purchased the then Suburban Hotel, converted it to the Pastime Theatre and opened it in November of that year. In 1929 Harry Flinn bought the business from him.
Notice Case's Restaurant which is on the corner. Lifelong Berean Syl Bobinsky remembers Amelia Earhart having lunch there.

The Boston Hub Department Store filled the clothing needs of Berea's families until it closed in September of 1968.
Remember John Simpson's Rexall Drug next door?

Milton Shoes occupied the building for nearly 25 years.
